It works similar to the way people use springs as shock aborbers.
Putting it that way, I can see that yeah. Is the Quarian leg worse for lifting, better for jumping, running and landing?
Running definitely.
Coincidentally, the shape of Quarian legs are almost identical to the type of prothestics worn by Oscar Pistorius to allow him to be a champion sprint runner. Which just goves to prove, that evolution screwed them with their immune system, but gave them awesome legs in exchange!
Swings and roundabouts, eh?

Zaeed: This one time about 10 years ago, me and my men assaulted this band of mercs that where using a grill.Tokaki wrote...
^ See, I see Wrex telling Zaeed how to grill. Also, I would like to point out that any game of chicken involving Jack and Grunt on the same team would make me not even want to try. I think Kasumi agreed to it only so she could say she rode Jacob.
Wrex: and
Zaeed: I was the only one that came out alive. Though the hot dogs were pretty dam good. Went home and made sweet love to Jessie that night

A good example for how Quarian legs would work, look at the legs of bipedal dinosaurs such as raptors.

The thing is that every step a human takes puts pressure on the whole leg, and up through the back. But a quarian's leg bones are not straight and not in a line. Humans usually break legs when they fall from the second story of a house, a quarian could absorb that same impact with no issue.
Nope. Humans are toe-runners. If you run as nature intended (look at people doing endurance running barefoot), that is, hitting with your forefoot and maybe the middle part, your leg and hip muscles and tendons serve as springs, preventing the impacts from going anywhere past the pelvis.
All that running with your heels striking the surface -and allowing the impulse to reach up to our skulls- first is something we have to thank Nike for. Fact is: The more padding you employ to shield your heels from impact on the ground, the higher the risk of hurting yourself.
All the shoes and booots humans wear in the game (high heeled combat boots? HELLO?) are a biomechanical nightmare.
Fact is, the complete human walking apparatus is neither worse nor better than that of Quarians. If it were less than perfect for the way IT WAS INTENDED TO WORK, our feet and legs would look much different.
Look up "barefoot running" on google. There are several studies coming to the conclusion that heeled shoes are a Bad Thing.
I know this was off topic, but what you think you know about human feet, legs and running is flat-out wrong. Sorry. Just setting things straight ^^

None of this is news to me. But humans have a rather poor skeletal system for bipedal movement, while quarians have a superior one. It IS less than perfect, by a huge margin.Jotunsquid wrote...

god just imagine the field day joker would have when Tali is cleaning all the sand out of EDI's joints. could probably make a softcore porn out of it.
Well, Kenneth's bugged dialogue down in Engineering already had a few cracks at that. Gabby was doing a few repairs on EDI and he asked if there had been any "moaning."

The Kenneth/Gabby banter: proof that BioWare can still write character interaction. Shame they're not so good at wrapping up a plot.

^ With the Extended cut, the Engineering dialogue bug with Ken/Gabby (and Tali) has been fixed so you can now hear their banter.
^ My reactions to this news. That's awesome! Why didn't I hear of this earlier?
Even get some dialogue with Tali in there as well (although I'll have to skip over the Garrus flirting bits
Thanks for letting me know!
