No offense to Tairis (who's an incredible writer and I love the first Razor's Edge), but reading about a dark, angsty, and indoctrinated Shepard who pushes every friggin' friend and comade (and lover, in Tali's case) away from him just isn't my cup of tea.... I'll give Requiem one more chapter, just to see how this cliffhanger turns out, but then I think I'm done with this story.

So i've had the chance to read some of the fanfiction floating around and have had a blast reading them. Wings of Fire was a great one and ended on a good note. Perspective is also a good read. I like the idea of Pathways and look forward to reading more. Although my favorite one so far is You Came Back to Me as it most closely resembles the picture in my head as what would happen at the end of ME3, and it also has some amazing writing. But they have all been great. Is there anymore out there that you guys would recommend?

Agreed! That used to be my background for my desktop, but now it's a picture from Gust4v's gallery I believe.
The only complaint I have of that picture is Tali's look at Shepard. It makes me think she's thinking murderous thoughts about him.

Well, my one hope is that this chapter marks the turning point for Shepard. The chapter was called "the fall", so I think within the next few chapters we will be getting "the rise"

Thank you for your comment regarding 'You Came Back to Me' - as for recommendations, I haven't personally read it, but judging from recent discussion, you might want to check out the Razor's Edge series, if you haven't already.

I don't think you should give up on it. The turning point will be coming. Wouldn't be living up to its title if it was all butterflies and rainbows as Kasumi would put it.

Besides you really want to see bad? "Death of Heroism" is one that really lives up to its title so far.

Yeah, gave that one up after the second story.  From what I read of the second, it started to get darker and darker, to the point of some poorly handled and unnecessary deaths.  If that was anything to go by, I would shudder to read what it is now.

Make sure you read the first two parts before you do, Razor's Edge (ME2 novilization) and Razor's Edge: Dark Witness (LotSB), before reading the newest installment (ME3 Noviilization/retelling)

^^ Razor's Edge was the first fanfic I ever read. Before then I was kinda "meh" about fanfics, I honestly didn't think they were my cup of tea. I'm so glad I gave Razor's Edge a chance though. I started reading it at about 11 at night and was so hooked that I stayed up until almost 5 in the morning to finish it Was completely exhausted, but it was totally worth it.

So yeah, anyone who hasn't, go read it.

Almost exactly the same thing here...I use to think Fanfics were all badly written, sefl-insert, non-canon-pairing messes...thankfully Razor's Edge proved me wrong. Heck,  I am now writing a fanfic of my own.
