Honestly fight scenes take me longer than most the stuff I write and I'm rarely happy with them. Trying to convey movement and the raw frantic energy of a firefight with words is brain wracking. So congrats on knocking one out that long.

Why do people always make Tali purple? I mean, the picture above looks astounding but every time I see a purple Tali it reminds me of a night elf from WoW.

Her suit is partly purple, her visor is purple, her voice could be construed as purple. Makes sense that people often turn that into she IS purple. Have something associated long enough, and the distinction simply dissapears.

And because i've got the wierd headcanon, obligatory 'wierd' tali faces.

Is it weird if I happen to find all three of those faces very cute / attractive?

Top one I can get behind. Little too much turian influence with the fringe but hey. The other two? No. #2 is starcraft, period, and will always be kerrigan in my brain. The 2nd one doesn't work for me from a logical perspective. If her skin was that dark you wouldnt be able to see the light reflecting on it to form the minor outlines you see through her visor.

Ya, I hear ya. Fight scenes tend to be difficult for me to write too...

Though i guess I have gotten a lot of experience writting that sort of thing, mostly due to doing alot of forum-based RPing in the past... though those were mostly in medivil fantasy sentings, which tend to be alot easier to write fight scenes for (which might explain why I tend to gravitate towards having melee combat alot in my story :?)

Melee combat does have a little bit easier of a flow to it since it's a chain of actions and reactions. Ranged combat... well theres only two ways to react to bullets. Being shot or getting the hell out of the way!

Ya, I go find it very hard at times to make sure i am not repeating my self way too much in a fight.... yet i seem to insist on writting fight scenes quite a bit :P It just seems like a bad idea to skip over all the combat in quick summies all the time, despite how much I would rather do that (saves so much time and effort).

They still make more sense than a human with painted nails and long, thick hair.

But no amlealok, that isn't particulary wierd.

Oh really? May I ask why?

It makes just as much sense as Asari looking just like humans. Seriously, what is wrong with Quarians having hair?

Hey, I just read the first chapter of your fic. You can count me as one of the "six" people that is following your story now. ;)

Except, of course, that even with a lousy photoshop, the ingame image of Tali is very close to the information provided in the book.  Funny, the one thing from the books that BW tried to keep accurate is causing some people so much grief.
And PLEASE stop with the Kerrigan pic.  It's not Tali.  It will never be Tali.  It has no purpose being posted in the Tali thread except to illicit irritation on others.  At least, that is the only reason I can see why it is being posted.

I was fine with Tali looking mostly human, considering everything in game indicated that they were mammalian and the most similar to humans of the known races. Other than that I just wanted it to be consistent to what we already knew and at least a shred of logic. Wish they had explained why quarian eyes glow.

The picture itself, as others have said didnt bother me that much in particular, its just how sloppy the photoshop was and how little effort was put into it. However one good thing about having it be a picture is that it is easily replacable w/ texmod to make tali look however you want her to be.

Does that even need an explanation? I always figured it was just an 'alien' thing, a trait un-human enough to set quarians apart, beyond their legs and fingers.

I understand wanting information, but there comes a point where I think people start paying too much attention to relatively trivial details.

Too many biology courses lol... I want the physical features to have a purpose. How my brain works and why in my version I made their 'glow' due to reflection like a cat or other nocturnal animal.

Just curious to those who played an alternative Femshep run, where you surprised that Tali and Garrus hooked up? I'm saying Femshep as the majority here are Broshep but if you play alternative runs you've seen this. Personally I thought it was sweet, I was really surprised at first but I was thrilled for them both. I primarily play Femshep and both Tali and Garrus are trusted friends to my Shep.

People will be always be curious.

Hell, I would love to know why they glow too even from a fake biological explanation and whether or not you would see them glowing without the visor on and in pitch black darkness as well.

Would make it pretty hard for Tali to ever sneak up on Shepard I bet. :D

On my femshep run I think its ok, but it still felt somewhat odd and kinda forced. I always saw Garrus and Tali as being just friends or like siblings. I mean it wasnt making me ultra rage or anything, just felt out of place to me personally.

I always thought that the reason why their eyes glow were because of them staying in their envirosuits for pretty much their entire lives. Not sure how though, just that it may be connected.

Yea. It could have used more lead up but the dialogue was cute.

300 years isn't enough time for even the most basic macro evolution of a species with a human life span. It would have to be something they had before the Morning War unless it was intentionally done with genetic or cybernetic intervention.
