Hope is nothing but a lie with which your morale may be raised, only to be smashed back down into ever further depths, yet still allowing you enough light in the distance that you continue to strive futilely.TheWerdna wrote...
You know whats weird, the latest chapter of Razor's Edge has sent me deeper into a state of unbearable anticipation then the last one (with the massive cliffhanger)... only now its due to excitement and hope rather then dread
It's the EA bussiness plan.

The fact that I legitimately agreed with this post frightens me.

But, what does EA have to do with a Mass Effec Fanfic?

More than you know. With everyone being so utterly dissatisfied with the endings (and EA's possible involvement), many have written (or are writing) their own endings and how they believed the game really should have ended. Without the tragedy that befell ME 3, much of the creativity that wanted an outlet may have been simply lost to the praise and blissful memories of a beautiful game, rather than the creativity that has been released due to a great game with a bad ending.
Of course, Tali factors in quite a bit.

And more houses on the homeworld.

It's rather a shame to be honest. Some elements of Reqiuem I've always had planned, but I had really hoped that when I wrote it that it would have followed a similar vein to Razor's Edge, tweaking canon to the sake of logical plot and condensation, bring some spice to it.
Needless to say I'd realized that wasn't going to happen by the time I was barely half way through ME3. The end only drove the nail into the coffin.

well if its any conselation tairis, your novelization of me3 kicks their versions arse. but then i suppose that isnt too hard to do. lol
So true, Taris's fic being better then ME3 is not really a huge acomplishment (though it is still very awesome)
Though there were some good parts of ME3. I thought the genophage and Rannoch plotlines to be very well done, and among some of the best segments out of all three games. Those segments probably let to some of my biggest emotional reactions of the entire series (many manly tears were shed when Mordin died). Though the other parts of the game, not so much.

What missions/events can I put off or avoid until after I have Tali to get different dialog from her? Also: any parts where you can mod her in and she has otherwise inaccessible dialog, like in ME2?

To maximize the missions you can play with Tali, here is what you do.
- Save Javik's recruitment mission for when Tali is around
- Do the Rachni mission rather then the two missions of the Tuchunka bomb plotline (while the second part is on a timer, the first part is not, meaning you can wait as long as you want with no ill side effects)
- Save the Leviathan DLC (if you have bought it)
- Save all N7 missions for when you have Tali

I actually yelled at my tv at the end of my first playthrough. Though I had a corrupted version of the game sine there was no epilogue...
I sadly knew what was coming a week before the game came out. I had been avoiding spoilers, but when the ending was leaked one week before release the forums exploded with rage and sadness; which scared me to I gave in a read up on the endings....lets just say i was a very sad and depressed Werdna long before i even played the endings myself.

^The EC *almost* made the destroy ending good, but with the number of plotholes still present I deemed it tolerable. I wasn't angry with it anymore, though. Good thing they changed the post-credits message, too. Not quite sure what they'd think people would think of the original when they put it in.
The EC fixed the endings so I no longer felt depressed and devestated.... it did not fix me being angry at it for being badly written and non-sensical.

[*]Eh? I thought the rachni mission had unique commentary for Tali. You can actually...*brain explodes in confusion* The turian missions aren't mandatory or genophage screwing up if you don't do?[*]I did buy it. Does it have unique Tali dialog? I hope it's not ME2 style.[*]Cool. Thanks.

"Spiders"
It is too awesome to *not* bring Tali with you on that mission. You would miss out on the epic cuteness.
Tali hates spiders
