I miss being able to pour a drink in the lounge, and then be able to drink it.  Missed opportunity for a cutscene with Tali right there.

I also miss having Zaeed, Grunt, Jack, Kasumi, Miranda, and Gardner (the cook/plumber) on board as well.  All the "friendly faces" that used to be on the Normandy, and you can't recruit them back.

We still have the old team, of course, but after the second game it just doesn't feel like it had the same spirit.  At least Tali's dialogue (along with the rest of the crew's) is awesome.

I think it's because ME2 was a lot more laid-back than 1 and 3. I mean with the latter two, there was a sense of urgency. For 1, it was "Gotta stop Saren before he brings in the Reaper apocalypse!" In 3 it was "Reapers are here! KILL ALL THE THINGS!"

In 2, I felt it was almost like another day at the office for the life of a Spectre. You get this assignment only a Spectre would be able to do, and you clean house with a lot of mercs throughout the time as well. Sure you hear about other Collector attacks, but all you run across is the same ship throughout the entire storyline, and the only colonies you go to that are or were hit are Freedom's Progress and Horizon, and the other colonies are not hit right after another one is. This is also the main reason I like 2 over the others: because to me there is no real sense of urgency, and that's why I'm sure Bioware added those little gimmicks like taking out the trash and pouring yourself some booze.

Ok, so I finished reading Wings of Fire today and I must say, it was really great. Lots of nice moments. You did a good job Bahoogasmif. Thank you.

Now I think I'm going to read Family Doesn't End With Blood, because it already has 20 chapters. After that I want to read another fanfic with fewer chapters and so on...

^Not sure about BrysonC, but I'm hoping to have my second chapter up sometime today or tomorrow. Already written, just being beta'd for mistakes.

I don't usually read Fanfics but I love what BrysonC did with the end and, to me, it's my Shepard's Canon ending. I'll get around to other Fics one at a time, otherwise I'll get them all muddled up in my head. I respect everyone here who is writing them though, because you've all put into action a (hopefully) plausable in which to end your Shepard's journey.

Just to move off on a tangent now, how do people here feel about the Indoctrination Theory? I've known about it since it was first discussed 4 or 5 months ago but I'm spending a slow day at work today watching the 3 Youtube Documentaries on it (at an hour and a half each!) and there are certainly a few things that have piqued my interest.

Do you honestly think BioWare delved this deeply into the nuances of audio placement and subtle hints, or do you think fans are just clutching at straws? Thoughts?

It sounded good written down. I mean, it certainly makes sense considering how much time Shepard has spent near Reaper objects (Rho, the derelict Reaper), but for me... it was out there, but I knew it wasn't Bioware's intention to make Shepard indoctrinated. Also, games that end up being dreams, or that never really happened, are the biggest kinds of let downs for me (never played Sonic '06, but that is a huge example of what I mean). I want the have something to look forward to at the end of my journey, and finding out that it never actually happened? Not worth my time.

It would be interesting if the IT would be true but Bioware denied it.
It would also be a giant cliffhanger. I don't think many people would like that.

I've never been a fan of the IT tbh. I had to stop using TIM eyes on my Shep cuz of that...>_>;;

I really don't buy into the whole IT thing. I would rather have the current endings then find out the whole thing is some kind of dream. Plus my Shepard lived and made it back to Tali.

Yeah but I doubt that BioWare would be the first video game company to lie about what's happening with their games, since they've still got DLC to sell. Maybe I'm just holding out with a little bit of hope.

Agreed. I'm not going to lie and say that I never believed in the Indoctrination Theory. Indeed, when I first finished ME3 I was all over the IT like a tramp on chips. Desperation can do amazing things to people, and when I first heard about the IT I so desperately wanted to believe in it. I mean, those absolutely horrible, confusing endings couldn't possibly have been intentional. Right?

Now however, 6 months on from the dark, depressing days of March? I find IT completely implausable, laughable even. After all the picking and breaking apart of ME3, it's pretty clear that the ending was a product of lazyness and poor writing and certainly NOT some rediculous master-plan concieved by BioWare. The fact that some people still believe in it after all this time makes me shake my head with disbelief. Take a look in the official IT thread, the amount of straw-clutching is unreal.

But enough of that, back to Tali.

I don't like IT because IT wasn't planned by BioWare, it is the result of bad writing, nothing more. I also lost respect for CleverNoob after his last documentary...

If the EC was in the game to begin with IT would not have caught on as much as it did.
