I know. I hope not, it would probably suck. But I can just see it happening.
Post-ME3 won't work unless they canonize an ending, which would ****** off a lot of players. The only alternative to that would be to create a new central character, which imho would be kinda meh. After three games of Shepard (well, in my case two lol) playing ME as a new character doesn't appeal to me at all, especially since I don't consider Shepard's story arc to have been properly concluded. I don't feel completely satisfied yet.
An MMO though? It just seems like an easy way out for BioWare, at least to me.

Personally I don't care if they pick one ending, the chance to see more of my favourite characters far outweighs that

I admire your dedication. I know that there's no chance in hell i'd pick up a Mass Effect game that follows up on Synthesis. Not even for glowy, green-eyed Tali. =S
I could perhaps stomach Control, but Shepard being Galactic Emperor Supreme dictating the galaxy with his Reaper Police is a little disconcerting...
If they chose to follow up on Destroy, i'd throw my money at the screen right now.

SWTOR is good, as a Singleplayer game. A BIOWARE MMO needs to have story, but it also needs the gameplay we know and love. A ME MMO would probably have to be similar to GW2's combat system or an adapted ME1 power/weapons system.

I'm content knowing the only viable ending is destroy, and that in the opening 10mins of ME4 both maleshep and femshep will be having a hard core make out catching up session with Tali.

MMO could be set up like this, hear me out, The story is relatively the same, but different servers have different endings. Like, Destroy Ending Servers, Synth, control, refuse(probably not), and each has a similar storyline that is merely altered with slightly different quest text, NPCs and such. Similar to WoW's phasing. (Cata era phasing, not the crappy WotLK phasing)

......That's acually a good idea. *raise flame shield* please don't hurt me, I don't support Mass Effect MMO but i'm just saying Nozzivix's idea sounds interesting.

Think about patches and expansions, though. New content would need to be different for all those servers. Too much work.

In all actuality, they could simply just make the stories literally the exact same bar a few different words. There's still other problems in the Galaxy that wouldn't even be affected by the endings. Like for example, off the top of my head, a tutorial level for a Quarian: Set just before leaving for his pilgrimage.
Quest: Kill 20 Practice Geth Units
Destroy: "The admiralty board says that you are ready to leave for your pilgrimage, but I have my doubts. The Reapers may be destroyed, but there are plenty of other threats in the Galaxy. I've set up some targets with fighting software with our new rebuilt proto-Geth, fight a few and we'll see if you're ready."
Synthesis:
"The admiralty board says that you are ready to leave for your pilgrimage, but I have my doubts. The Reapers may be our allies and we may have incredible enchancements, but there are plenty of other threats in the Galaxy. we've set up some target platforms and downloaded some Geth into them, fight a few and we'll see if you're ready. (we are also the Borg. Your culture will be Assimilated.)"
Control:
"The admiralty board says that you are ready to leave for your pilgrimage, but I have my doubts. The Reapers may be our allies now, but there are plenty of other threats in the Galaxy. we've set up some target platforms and downloaded some Geth into them, fight a few and we'll see if you're ready."
It's a pretty limited example, but It's all I have off the top of my head
Edit: TOTP

I've already made complaints about the endings, and will not repeat them here. Given the note that ME 3 ended on, I will be wary of the future games, to say the least. Certainly not preordering, anyway.
For Tali to be in the game? Might be too wishful thinking. As much as I love Tali, I'm not sure how she might be able to fit in a new Mass Effect game, particularly an aftermath of ME 3. Can't say I'd be against it, though.

There are way too many variables from all the different choices. It would be set at least a hundred years after ME3.
So the possibility of Tali being in ME4 is very unlikely.

Again, BioWare has worked themselves into a corner here, because including any of the characters we've come to know and love would be extremely tricky. Including Tali without Shepard involved might bother people if they've romanced her - same applies to any other potential LI.
They're going to need a completely clean slate. Considering the only 'new' character of any real interest in ME3 was Javik, I'm wary of BioWare's continued ability to create captivating new characters.

And imo Biowares strongest point has always been their characters.
