Pretty much every race screws over Shepard at one point or another, with the possible exception of the Krogan depending upon who is leading them (Wrex or Wreav). But Bioware really tried their darnest to make everyone hate the Quarians in ME3. <_<
I dunno, the Quarians were already pretty committed to the invasion of Rannoch before the Reapers showed up. And if any race was well-equipped to survive the Reapers if the rest of the races failed to stop them, it's the Quarians.
'Oh, hey, a bunch of killer sentient robots are roaming around destroying your planets? Well, we'll just get back on our massive flotilla that's spent the past 300 years evading killer sentient robots. Later, ****es!'
I mean, they could have just broken out the Battlestar Galactica defense, found the most remote mass effect relay, jumped it, blown it up to prevent pursuit and actually stood a pretty solid chance at just evading the Reapers alltogether-I mean, the galaxy is a pretty big place, it's a pretty plausible scenario.
That said, I'm kinda disappointed how they handled bringing the Quarians into the group. I'd have liked to see more resistance-one faction (IE, Tali and friends) advocating helping everybody else, and another advocating the aforementioned GTFO strategy. They'd have been the last race contacted, right before the asssault on earth, jumping in right at the last second with...well, everybody.
