I remember a few quarians that didn't. The one at the club the turian is trying very hard to hook up with. The quarian thats accused of stealing a credit chit and the slave quarian. I may be wrong but to me I didn't hear a accent.DoNotIngest wrote...
Quarian accents vary greatly. We've seen Refined English, Gung-Ho Marine, err... Gypsy?, Arab, Russian... And probably more. It's pretty much safe to say that Quarians just always have an accent.
Though Tali's unique accent is the best, of course.

Everyone has an accent. What you mean is that they have an american accent. (especially the one in the bar with the turian, that is a valley girl accent.) Although I would argue that the quarian accused of stealing has a slight accent similar to the fleet.
Funnily enough though, its only quarians on their pilgrimage that seem to have accents not congruent with the fleet.

I don't know how many playthoughs I did without even realizing I could talk to him again! You can talk to him before the alerai, then after the end of the trial.

Heh oh ya,

There is an elevator conversation with Tali where she says they exist but are very rare.Nashiktal wrote...
Just had a thought... Do we have any info on Quarian biotics? As far as we know, to be a biotic you have to be exposed to eezio in the uterus (save for the asari who are a special case) and the quarians live in very controlled environs, and largely off any sort of planets, and I doubt babies are purposely put near ship cores.
Would that make Quarian biotics extremely rare?

but yea, Tali said that quarian biotics are extremely rare and really only happen if the pregnant mother and her child happen to survive the release of eezo from a drive core or something...
don't remember the exact wording, though (I think she says it with Kaidan in the elevator...or was it Liara...I'm pretty sure it was Kaidan if the subject of his L2 implants are brought up)

well the eezo leak is possible but there is a thing about biotics that says it can develop in the brain of a developing child in the womb so it is possible to gain biotics naturaly without eezo but its very rare for it to happen naturally like the chil'ds brain develops eezo while in the womb.

And its clear not all Quarians agree with it. The point is, they still havent DONE anything and so, hating them makes no sense (for that reason). By that logic, you should also hate the rest of a the galaxy because the rest of the galaxy also hates the geth.cacharadon wrote...

Oh, and here's a poll wondering why people have moved from trolling Tali to Quarians in general, for funzies: http://social.biowar...51/polls/25831/
A lot of people on that poll are idiots. Imagine that one of your ancestors murdered someone 300 years ago. Because of that, your given a life sentence to prison. How in the hell does that make any sense at all?
um let me put it this way, do you accept the fact that your ancestor was wrong in killing whoever he killed 300 years ago?
Or what would you think of someone who walks around with a swastica tatoo, loudly proclaiming that they were justified in what they did during WW2, or better yet pulling the victim card because most of the world hates ****s anyways.
As you see its not quite a clear cut matter. I don't neccesarily like the fact that quarians are getting the cold shoulder from some people, but I can understand where they come from.
*edit, didnt realise bioware filters the "n" word >.<

Its been a long time since I left... But Tali tears him a new one for not telling her about Rael being dead, then the second time blesses tali and wishes her well.
I enjoyed it, not enough to make a whole new playthrough, but its a nice little bonus if you find yourself around her LM again.

Quarian hate today isn't about the geth, thats just something they did in their past that started it.
The quarians are currently in a vicious cycle. The quarians to survive, stripmine resources on planets that belong to other faction, they screw up the economy in an area by disrupting travel to and from the system, stealing jobs by hiring themselves out for cheap, leave behind criminals and trash in their wake, and quarians on their pilgrimage have no home, and thus are vagrants.
For all the bad that is done to them, its not just hate because of the morning war.

But that is illegal, what you are describing is stealing, I don't think that the council would let them do that without a full blockade of turian cruisers.Nashiktal wrote...

They need that money, is the employer's fault if later there is no jobstealing jobs by hiring themselves out for cheap
vacancy, they were the ones that taked advantage of the quarians, they
were the ones that decided to "take" that cheap labor.
The trash... maybe. Criminals? Why is their fault?leave behind criminals and trash in their wake
They are nomads, not vagrants. Vagrants don't work.and quarians on their pilgrimage have no home, and thus are vagrants.

1. The galaxy is a big place. The council can't just pull their fleets out and blockade them. The quarians don't exactly announce when they are going to arrive. Besides its not always the big three thats hit, and if you don't believe me here is the codex.
"Because of the Flotilla's limited resources, quarians strip-mine the
systems they pass through, which often puts them at odds with any
species currently settled there."
2. When the quarian fleet travels through a system, they block the mass relay for weeks at a time just getting their fleet through. This disrupts taffic (to a complete standstill) which means no goods can go in or out, no tourism if the planet uses it, no workers can come and go... Its a complete mess.
3. That still messes with the economy. This isn't a simple problem like illegal immigrants in america. The corporations have the ENITRE MIGRANT FLEET to choose from. As it was described, they replace their entire labor force for quarians.
What happens when the quarians leave? The quarians are not putting money back into the economy they are currently in, Quarians don't even use money on the fleet! (they probably get payed in resources or something) It doesn't matter if its the corporations fault for hiring them, the quarians still took the jobs.
4. Why is it the quarians fault for leaving criminals behind? THEY DUMP THEIR CRIMINALS ALONG WITH THE TRASH. They don't have any room on the migrant fleet for prisons. So along with DUMPING AN ENTIRE CIVILIZATIONS WORTH OF TRASH, they also leave behind their repeat criminals, liike MURDERERS or VIOLENT BEHAVIOR, you get the idea.
Here, i'll just quote the codex.
"Once taken into custody, the accused is brought before the ship's
captain for judgment. While the ship's council may make recommendations,
tradition holds that the captain has absolute authority in matters of
discipline.
Most are lenient, assigning additional or more odious maintenance
tasks aboard the ship. Persistent recidivists are "accidentally" left
on the next habitable world. This practice of abandoning criminals on
other people's planets is a point of friction between the quarians and
the systems they pass through. Captains rarely have another choice; with
space and resources at a premium, supporting a non-productive prison
population is not an option. Offences that carry exile as a penalty
include murder, treason, repeated violent episodes, and sabotage against
vessels, food stores or the Liveships themselves. "
5. And most of the quarian "nomads" are vagrants. Mostly because of the fleet causing itself to be a nuisance to the civilized galaxy. Why should the elcor hire the quarians when they stripmined a world belonging to them? You get the idea.
Its not a black and white thing, the quarians are just trying to survive after all. However to think the quarians are completely innocent is folly. They bring as much grief on themselves now if not more than them creating the geth ever did. It's a vicious cycle. The council originally didn't help the quarians because of the geth (who were flying in the face of the law regarding Ai... the blame game can go on forever) who are still causing chaos today.
Its just complicated mess, and no one is innocent. It probably won't end until the quarians settle down on a planet.

Given that, and their refusal to help save a Council race from the Geth (For the Quarians were one of the oldest, 2500 years of space flight is mentioned), the Council deserves much more BS than the Fleet actually gives them.

The thing is this whole situation could easily have been avoided when the quarians tried to settle on Ekuna. Instead of letting them settle a previously unknown planet of little value that nobody else had any claim to; the council decided to threaten to bomb them off the planet, saying that they should have announced it to the council before starting to settle. Although I really doubt the council would have granted them the planet if they did petition for it, seems to me like the council is going out of its' way to make the endless cycle continue.

To add insult to injury, Ekuna is in the Hades Nexus. Feros is in that same cluster. The Council decided that it was too close to the Terminus to risk sending in the fleet to protect against Geth depredations back in M, but were perfectly willing to sic the Hierarchy on the Flotilla to keep them off a planet they discovered. Once again proving that the Council is a vile, self-serving mass of swill.
