wait why would we even need this?

Won't the automatic translators (that I'm assuming everyone has hidden up their ass) just translate everything to English?
And why don't words like keelah have an English translation? I'm assuming it means something similar to OMFG.

Even the Batarians keep their language databases/translations up to date, why not the tech savvy Quarians?

Considering quarians worship their ancestors, Keelah is possibly a person of renowned wisdom... something along the lines of people who say Jesus which probably wouldn't translate into another languages as it is a name.

Alright then riddle me this. In Tali's LM they keep saying "Keelah se-lai". Is this similar to saying "Jeasus Christ"?
If so then it doesn't make sense given the context, (shala addressing the conclave and Tali when the captain of the neema explains the "old ship tradition")

I've always assumed Keelah se-lai meant something along the lines of 'ancestors watch over/guide/protect us' and Keelah was just a short hand exclamation in the same way people say 'Jesus!'.

Except Quarians practice ancestral worship, not monotheism. There's references to certain factions amongst the Quarians blaming self deification for the punishment of the morning war, and advocating a return to unspecified older traditions, but they're apparently a minority given that the admiralty invoke the spirits of their ancestors at an official trial, and there's never any direct references to Quarian deities even existing.

well, what I meant was it was an important figure in their history. deity or person, Tali says it in different ways. doubt we will ever find out for sure.

It may well just be my own aethism influencing my views, but Keelah never felt like a specific individuals name to me, although that would certainly explain why it doesn't translate.

It's the full 'Keelah se-lai' that's left me feeling it's not a person, since if it were 'Keelah go with you' for example, then why would't the non name part translate?

No, my artstic skills are lacking. It looks to be a painting of JeanLuc's Tali render.

Give me some clips or a picture and I become a machine.
Give me a pencil and paper and I say "what the hell do I do with this?"

I see a pencil and paper, and all I can do is write stories. But they only come once in a blue moon. (The good ones anyway)

I'd really like to see Tali's face in ME3. And maybe she could go into a deeper discussion about the whole Keelah se'laih thing.

fighting fever on the dmz that is my nose. anything new about tali? she's an information blackhole as far as bioware is concerned.

Haven't Sroka already finished her lines weeks ago?

She started her lines a few months ago.  All the actors are probably on standby for new lines until this game goes gold.
