I believe she mentions that it was terrible, and that she didn't want to know whether or not Rael had a part to play in it. That was when they were looking onto parts of a geth that had been experimented on. It is open to interpretation I guess.

And I agree, innocents did die on the Alarei, but Rael received retribution for that. It isn't necessary for the quarians to know what he did, but it is preferable to having Tali exiled. Which is why I prefer a paragone/renegade response, or inciting the crowd.

I think, at least in this case, that Tali's disgust was more in regards to the idea that her own father would do something reckless and dangerous enough to put the entire ship at risk over something so selfish. Like all the other Quarians, she's pretty much been raised with the idea that the Geth don't feel anything and can't rightly be considered living things, so I think it's probably safe to say it was more disgust with what was being done, as opposed to the idea of somehow mistreating the Geth.

Tali's pretty well rooted in the idea that the Geth are mindless, unfeeling drones, even implying that they have less collective brain power than animals, at least until Legion's introduction and loyalty mission. By the end of the game I'd put her feelings towards them in the confused/conflicted territory, but prior to that I'm not sure she regards them as much more than unfeeling garbage.

Isn't it infact the opposite of that? I'm sure it said somewhere, either in the ME1 codex or what have you, that the Quarians are actually far more accepting of A.I.s being alive than most other species because of what happened with the Geth becoming sapient.

Daro Xen is the only Quarian that you meet to explicitly state she thinks they're just mindless automatons, while Zaal Koris flat out says they aren't, and everyone else seems to treat them as enemy combatants more than malfunctioning objects.

As for Tali comparing Geth intelligence to that of a Varren, you're taking it entirely out of context. She's referring purely to her technical knowledge of how a single Geth platform should not contain sufficient numbers of networked program's to have the cognitive ability to translate Geth speak to something organics could understand. We know she's aware of the fact that the more networked Geth their are the smarter they all are because she's the one that explains how it works in the first place.

Absolutely, Tali is well aware that Geth are intelligent. She just hates them.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how her relationship with Legion develops in 3, she's a smart girl and I suspect that she'll see that going to war now is a REALLY bad idea. Her head might be able to process that, but will her heart? When push comes to shove, where is she going to stand?

After all, three centuries of being held down on their knees by the rest of the galaxy has probably instilled a LOT of suppressed bitterness and rage into the collective psyche of the quarian people. The geth, as the beings that are more or less responsible for the plight of the quarians, make a really nice target for that hate.

Erm... Yes, good sir, I *do* mean Tali-ho. As I said.

I'm convinced Tali will sport a lovely Victorian dress like a proper member of the Quarian Admiralty Family. Mayhaps she will loan a garment from good Aunt Shala'Raan?

Mein Gott! Simmer down there, ol' chap. It seems that since that wonderful young elf Merrill is well liked by the very same people who adore Tali then I am forced to present this: Posted Image

Good heavens there, my kind gentle sir. It appears that I am perspiring just a tad bit here. [Pulls out hanckerchief and gently dabs forehead]

*ahem* In further, more disconcerting news, word of Tali's mass popularity has finally reached Tuchanka. That clever Gentlekrogan Wrex is plotting a truly frightening Halloween in accordance.

So, Demo was announced, there are chances to get it early before January. The missions will probably be the ones they kept showing in the videos: First mission on earth and fighting Cerberus on the Salarian homeworld.

You guys think the cut scene's will have any juicy information?

That first one is at least kind of creative, though I think the mandibles look a little out of place.

They look more like.. tusks? I'd also imagine they'd need irises to see, but don't mind biology.

I don't like that at all, looks like someone slapped some chunks of gristle on a corpse then gave it a double nose bridge which we know she doesn't have. Also suffers a bit with the 'make Quarians like Turians since they're both dextro' false logic with the mandibles.

Really though, I think it suffers most from what so many of these concept pieces do; she looks to old and isn't expressing any emotion.

Considering how expressive she is with her voice and body language, having artwork portraying her as a lifeless statue just doesn't feel like the same character. If they could just show a bit of life in the expressions, her mischievous snarkyness, angry determination or nervousness that are so well put across without seeing her face it'd feel so much more like her.

I agree with everything you said except one thing: her showing emotion. Tali never shows emotion with her face. No quarian does. Or they do very rarely, actually. I don't think it would be surprising at all if her ability to show emotions with her face was muted. Quarians never take facial cues from other quarians, instead devoting their language to voice and body language.

I imagine if quarians were suddenly free of their suits that they'd have to practice facial expressions.

Actually we do see Tali making facial expressions, glaring daggers at Jacob during his 'Welcome to the Normandy, I'm an ****!' moment, wide eyed shock at Shepard reciprocating her feeling, amusement at the Shepard VI and so on. Admittedly yes, it could just be her eyelids and brows moving, but I find it hard to believe the rest of her face is stock still.

If anything I'd expect Quarians faces to be more expressive and emotive than other races, since they live almost their whole lives with masked anonymity, and would never have needed to hide their expressions to the degree other races do.

Also remember Quarian children are in a bubble until their teens, and it's common for most families to take sick time to be suitless with one another to help with emotional bonding, so theirs plenty of opportunities for them to develops facial expressions beyond the basic instinctive ones they'd have.

I don't think her face is "stock still", I just think her expressions would be muted. Meaning they are there, but not as strong as in someone who actually USES facial expressions in day to day life.

How often is sick time? A few times a year maybe? Sure, as adolescents their facial expressions might still be strong, but even that isn't a guarantee. The child in the bubble may have their face uncovered, but their nurses and teachers and most of the time, even their parents, might not.

Though I reckon ssuch facial expressions would likely be, as in us, innate responses (evolutionary modules) Saphra is probably right that they would be muted
