Transparent you say hmmm. Well I suppose it worked for the Grey Mouser and his Newhon Ghoul honey.
I would rather that quarines sport a varity of pigmentation same as we do, just perhaps a bit paler being suit bound and all.

Also, what colour do people imagine Tali's skin to be? I know we don't know from any evidence in game, but I imagine everyone has a depiction of (roughly) what Tali looks like in their own mind.

I've always had the idea of redish skin for some reason... Just about everyone says purple or grey, yet I instantly thought red.  No idea why.

I think they look like gory little bits of whatever colour their blood and flesh is.




Y'know, a poor immune system is pretty reasonable when the alternative is Tali exploding if she ever removed her suit or suffered a breach

It's understandable when one considers that the Volus aren't exactly good to look at even with their suits on. Anyway, I always imagined they looked something like this. 

With regards to Quarian skin colour, for some reason I'd expect it to be a light shade of grey or purple.

The Volus live on a high pressure world. Can Shepard's hardsuit withstand the extra pressure? The hardsuit works well in a vacuum. Maybe one would have to employ the use of personal mass effect fields.

Tiny waist is tiny.

Her waist is quite narrow in-game as well, more so than a human female.
Maybe this artist's depiction is a little off, but I'm not complaining!

I always picture them as looking like Ganon from that old Zelda cartoon.  No idea why, but my brain seems to register that as being some combination of okay and comical.
