Tali'Zorah ME3 Thread *MAJOR SPOILER WARNING!*

Now, let's list the known differences, and you can imagine them onto that image:
- Silvery eyes. Or, at the very least, something that makes them appear glowy. Probably entirely different pupil shape, etc.
- Completely ear structure. "What passes for a human ear". This could mean any number of things; Could mean plain old holes in the head, cartiledge, even bone. Definitely one of the bigger differences.
- Different skin tone. As in, it could be anything. Blue, grey, purple, coal black, semi-transluscent, the list goes on. A big difference, especially given humanity's past judgements based on skin colour alone.
- Different skin texture. Not confirmed, but it should be obvious that, as a seperate species, they wouldn't have the exact same skin structure. Could even be scales, though I'd hope they were tiny and smooth (Like those of most mammals that have them) if that were the case.
- Hair stand-in. It seems obvious why female Quarians would wear veils that are draped like hair while males do not (Looks more like a ponytail on them, actually). It's reasonable to assume that either female Quarians grow whatever adorns their heads long while males don't, or that males tie it back as a style. If they were all bald, it wouldn't make much sense to wear veils when their unadorned helmets would much better preserve that look, now would it?
Now, effect all of these variables on the image of that face, not to mention from the waist down and the hands, and tell me that looks like a human, or even a "space elf".

alien enough?

Though, I have to admit, my main reason for not liking that concept is that the skin is so smooth and tight, and just happens to be the exact shape of a human skull. The white, pupil-less eyes do not help the image. Besides, why wouldn't they have some kind of pupil? It seems a galactic requirement to have them.

Yeah, I got that. It's just that there are certain people who say "she better not be a space elf" or "I don't want her to look too alien" and generally obsess over her appearence like it's the most important part of her character. Worse are the ones who say "I romanced her because I wanted to see what was behind the mask." While there's no harm in speculating on Tali's appearance, it's not something that anyone should get fixated on.DoNotIngest wrote...
Just saying what I think comes logically. Whatever Tali looks like is fine by me.
That being said, yeah, your despcription of Tali seems like it would make sense.

That is like something out of a Junji Ito horror story - no thanks. To clarify, I am not suggesting more human features - I am voting against the cthulhuoid features present in this image.alphaisomega wrote...

Feet are too big but it's probably supposed to be like that considering the style.

Actually, on that note, it wouldn't be too surprising if they had some similarities to Turians. The whole both being dextrose based lifeforms kind of puts it in the realm of possibility.
Humans and krogans are both levo-based lifeforms but they don't share many similarities. Humans and squid are levo-based as well, and humans and sponges, and humans and salarians, and humans and chestnut trees...

Yep, Turians are one of the best-designed aliens out there. They added mandibles to a style of creature that should never have had them... And totally pulled it off.
I think turians are the best designed because when I look at one I definitely don't see a human but I also can't really relate them to any animal on Earth. Sure, there are vague similarities to some animals, and I stress "vague". It's really a stretch in my opinion to call them a bird or dinosaur... they just don't look like anything on Earth but you can still relate to their facial expressions and body language. They're one of the best designed aliens in science fiction I would say.

Erm... Yeah, see, why would females wear a decorative veil that just happens to be draped in the same way as hair or a hair stand-in if they were bald? I suppose I should also point out that every single alien race, without exception, has had something adorning their head so far.
Until someone pointed it out it never occurred to me that the veils resembled hair, but it was obvious once stated. Even Bioware has referred to Tali's veil as her "hair". I think it looks great too. The long hair goes nicely with their overall shape.

*waits for complaints about hair*
Beautiful art, and while nice, not my taste. But again, if that was her exact look in ME3, I wouldn't be upset in the slightest;
Seems to me that a lot of people made their own personal image of Tali, and don't want a face reveal so they can preserve that. I thought up my own, but only because I didn't know what she really looked like. Once (if?) we find out, I'll be perfectly happy with whatever Bioware has to offer.

Not that I saw. What you suggested is by no means "in the realm of possibility" for the reasons you put forward. Tali could look like a turian, in theory, but it would just be a coincidence or have something to do with their environment. It would have nothing to do with her species being dextrose based.

Nor did I claim it was? I fail to see what point you're trying to prove here. The scope of the comment was nothing more than if BioWare wanted a reason to be lazy on that front, they could spin it.
...but, no, they couldn't. It would be realy bad science on Bioware's part, even for them.

Was never a fan of the quills concept, then I read Setrus' docs. Now I like the idea.
