Well if we assume that Shep will turn himself/herself in after Arrival or something like that, then Shep is gone about 3-4 months (if I have got the timeline right.)

damn. when's tali's birthday? or do quarians celebrate that stuff?

I don't really have answer to either questions. But I guess I can say that most likely birthdays does have similar material meaning (as giving and getting gifts) as there are not really extra material, money or anything on the fleet to get this gift.

:)wouldnt it be grand if we got rannoch back on tali's birthday?

Trying my best to resist mentioning The Prize :P

But yeah, it's not just Tali fans that are conflicted, it's everyone.

Half the people don't even want Tali's face revealed.

The other half is so fragmented it's going to be horror on BSN no matter what decision is made.

Eh, according to that massive facebook poll Bioware did a while ago, 80% of the fans want to see Tali's face. That's way more than half.

With regards to your fears of a BSN meltdown if Tali's face is revealed, I'd say they are greatly exaggerated. There's no way it could be any worse than the intial reaction to the announcement of multiplayer, which in itself wasn't as bad as many people thought it would be. In my experience, most of the people who say there will be a s#!%storm if Tali's face is revealed, are usually the same people who already oppose seeing her face. Coincidence?

I think the chance of BioWare fearing a "firestorm on the forum" is close to 0% at this point. I mean, we had three of those in the last two weeks? Forum's still standing. My guess is the devs simply go "Oh, another one?" by now.

And, yeah, they should definitely show her face. Maybe make it optional, so people have a choice. I can live with the probability that I won't like her face, sometimes life hands you lemonades. The probability that I'll like it is much higher.

Also, 80% is a clear majority. That the people who don't want to see her face revealed do scream very loudly on the forums does not make them the majority, as this poll shows.

Few points: one poll.

Think you guys are taking "horror" a bit too literally.

Edit: Also guys, don't want to be a dick but while I know this is the "ME3" Tali thread, it's nerve-wracking reading through the last couple of pages worrying about if spoilers are being posted. :(

Indeed that would be great. Best gift ever.

To report or not to report is the question.

So either you have no sense of humour, or you're just looking for an argument.

And my point stands.

Just because they're from another planet doesn't mean everything gets thrown to the curb.

Breasts? Oh yeah they're from another planet so like they don't work the same even though they look the same.

I have no humor for old tired memes. I have been hit by those too many times, and if you had a point you wanted to get across you wouldn't have used the stupid meme in the first place.

Also when did I ever say breasts were not breasts? The point you were trying to make seems to have missed a mark somewhere. I said that quarians were not mammals because they are not from earth. That has nothing to do with the fact they have breasts.

I made the point, then you dismissed it with your "hurr mammals are only for earth" line.

Quarian females have breasts? Nope, not mammals.

Quarian females have in fact two breasts in the exact same position as Human females? Nope, not mammals.

Quarians have a gestation period? Nope, not mammals.

Quarians give birth to live young? Nope, not mammals.

Why? Even though they fit the bill for being mammalian, it doesn't matter because they're from another planet. Herpderp.

You don't call them mammals? Fine, then they're their planet's version of mammals. But regardless of what specific term you give them, they fit the bill for mammals.

Once again missing the point. Of course it matters that they are from a different planet.

YOU CANNOT APPLY EARTH TAXONOMY TO AN ALIEN SPECIES. Especially a species we know little about biologically wise.

Unless you would like to call the asari mammals too?

That's funny, because I just did.

And hey, it worked!

You are not getting it mate. Mammals are only from earth. That is how taxonomy works! Quarians can have every damn mammal trait in the book (which they shouldn't unless we are following some sort of panspermia theory for Mass Effect) but they won't be mammal BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT FROM EARTH.

When you show me the direct line from which quarians came from earth, I will concede they are mammals. Until then they are whatever the quarian taxonomy classifies themselves as.

actually, if an animal has all the necessary characteristics to be considered a mammal, it is a mammal...

just like how if an organism has all the necessary characteristics of an insect, it is an insect

as long as the organism (for the most part) falls into the following definition, it is a mammal:

"A warm-blooded vertebrate animal of a class that is distinguished by the possession of hair or fur, the secretion of milk by females for the nourishment of the young, and (typically) the birth of live young"

saying that alien mammals aren't mammals because they're alien is like saying an alien tree isn't a tree because it's alien....if it fits all of the requirements to be CONSIDERED a tree....then it's a tree...

now, for what we know right now, quarians may or may not be mammals by that definition and it's really only hinging on whether or not they have hair..

can other animal types exist out there? of course. You can have a whole branch of animals that are scaly, hairy, egg laying marsupial invertibrates whose fathers nurse the spawn with his nutrient-rich fluid....and THOSE would be considered a whole new type of animal...but if an alien falls under any one of our current animal classifications, it will be referred to as such...

Quarians are not mammals, and never can be. It is more than a descrition of traits. Mammallian is both phenotype and genotype. Bats are not birds. Dolphins are not fish. Tali appears to be mammalian, but no amount of controvery will make it so. Mammals evolved on earth, and nothing from originating from any other planet can ever be a mammal.

what if we get a squirrel from Earth and a purple squirrel from some other planet........everything about the squirrel is the same as the Earth one, except it's dextro DNA instead of levo....is it still not a mammal?

I would understand if the squirrel physiology and way of living was completely different but if the only difference between the two squirrels were fur color, is it really not a mammal?

I'm not saying that quarians ARE mammals, because we don't know their biology and the evolutionary processes that occurred to make them what they are...but let us assume that they were literally humans with 3 digits.....are they no longer mammals because of the fact that they are from two different planets?

Also just to be clear, I'm not saying this in the literal sense, as in the true scientific meaning of mammal where we dig into the genetic code to get the answer as to what an animal is.............speaking for myself at least, I am just saying "mammal" in simplest layman terms....just like how "theory" in science and "theory" in everyday speech have two different meanings...

When i said mammalian, i did so in quotes, meaning they could be their planets analog of mammals, not necessarily mammals themselves, meaning they have traits of mammals/fulfill the roles of mammals, but are not earth mammals.

This thread needs more pics, bantering, and shenanigans. Like the other support threads. We only ever seem to have conflict & debates. Which are good, but they get old fast when there's nothing else.

So Tali's petit arms take shotgun recoil like a champ. Wouldn't mind her trying to teach some like Liara or one of the two new squadmates (the "secret" ones, Vega's too beefy) and them getting a bit cocky. Torn tendons make good lessons.

I've noticed that the top picture custom has faded over recent time. Unfortunate.

We could discuss quarian language, like maybe the word Keelah, but I wouldn't be able to say much since it's a "secret."

So Tali's petit arms take shotgun recoil like a champ.

Shepard can take a pounce like a champ, too.

(the "secret" ones, Vega's too beefy)

I do so like the quotes, by the way.

I think the problem there is that Rune was the king of the TotP, and he's not around so much anymore. I'm up for discussing some Keelah and Bosh'tet and whatnot, but was Keelah really turned from an unknown into a "secret"? I missed that part, if it was. And I think I'll continue to miss it for a few months...

It's well established that Shepard being half a Terminator is all that saved him from an embarassing pre-Suicide Mission death.

And, well, they aren't a secret to half the BSN. I was decidedly pleased by the one that had been speculated on, but the other, that just came out of the blue... That was just great.

True. Rune was the boss. Unfortunate that he does not spend more time in this thread, but it is understandable. I used to post and post top pictures when I had the opportunity, but like many, I stick to Clan Zorah...

There are plenty of pictures; just the custom seems to have waned in recent time.

And, yes, it did turn into a "secret."

I laughed. Yeah. Those skin, muscle, and bone upgrades serve a purpose.

Indeed. I must say, March cannot come fast enough. Some of the information... it is intriguing.

Oh lawd. Now I have to put up with four months of wondering what "Keelah" really means. Don't tell me Bosh'tet's been revealed too?

Also, there's been more in-depth info gathering from all this. There's been huge dumps of conversation between squad members and secondary characters; Anything good from Tali or romance-related? Obviously just a "yes" or "no" question, given that a good few in this thread want to avoid spoilers (Even with the title, it's understandable. These are pretty major).

Ah well. Maybe Skyrim will tide me over. Getting my first gaming PC, so here's to getting a Quarian mod and having some shenanigans there. Though I think I'll take a peak in CZ for now, haven't done too much of that...

I swear to the old gods that if Shep goes crazy in ME3, I'm skipping the game. I don't need that crap in my distractions.  Same with Tali and other squadies, I have no time for "OMG lost my mind cause Shep was gone a few months for a stupid show trial!"  bullcrap.

Damnit, I am so going to have to wait until a month after the game is out, for the wiki to fill in, before buying it. Too many possible moments of deadly stupid are said to be in the game, especially now that the leaks have hit. Of course, it won't matter if Origin is required, then I'm skipping ME3 no matter what.

@Killjoy

Cool whining bro.

And after a peak at the CZ spoiler thread (loved the bit with the filtered Turian brandy, LAWLZ), it seems that Bioware's been very aware of Tali's popularity. If she doesn't recieve the most attention, it'll be close (I have a feeling it'll be between her and Liara, though I'm not concerned. What I've seen seems to point to lots of awesome Tali dialogue, and that's all I want).

LURKER!

Ahem, it should be noted that if you break the dialogue in ME2 down by minutes, Tali has the most by her, about her, or related to her missions.  (the very talky-talky trial is one of the primary causes)

It's too bad Tali was cut from the early game. I'd have gladly taken her over Grunt or Jack.

Yeah.  It's usually assumed we have the console disk-split to thank for that.
