With regards to Tali, hers could very well be implanted, since she's got cybernetics.

Random observance: when they say the alari has been taken during Tali's trial, you can hear un-translated quarian conversations in the background. It is a very unique sound.
I wonder if Tali's translator would work once she's taken off her suit...
Come again?

I think it really depends on where, precisely, the omnitool is actually situated. I've always assumed the translator is a function of it, considering that people without suits and armor are able to understand and converse as well.

While I havn't looked in the codex in a while, I am pretty sure it talked about implants and other small devices around the ear and not just the omnitool for the translater.

Tali: Sweet-talker.
Shepard: I bet you say that to every guy who gets you a homeworld.
Tali: Only the cute ones.
And that's it for me. The rest is up to you to discover.

The "Tali Disappreciation Society"-Group is a joke !
Never read so much nonsense, combined with the fact that only members can comment on the group.....
They don't respect the character and insult her in any sentense the members write....
They all seem to have only human LIs !
This is an excellent example why "Hate-Groups" should be forbidden !!!

Its a rather small minority. They are just upset that Tali is likely playing a larger role in ME3 than their fav character, according to the spoilers. In other words they are just jealous and decide to vent their emotions on other people. The interesting thing about Tali haters is that they claim Tali fans are too obnoxious in yet the irony is that they themselves are more obnoxious..... Its actually kind of humorous.Tom80 wrote...

Not really. Take it out on Bioware, not people who simply like the character...... Or dont assume everything is true? They are likely false and/or incomplete. Not to mention they could have been easily misinterpreted. I highly doubt Bioware would simply sideline a lot of fan favourites.Nashiktal wrote...
And somewhat understandable. Some characters really were put to the sidelines from what I hear, jacob especially. He gets the short end of everything.

To be fair, this is the case for the main Tali group as well. What's the saying, "Don't throw stones in glass houses"?Tom80 wrote...

And do they not reserve the right to dislike things? Must everyone love and adore Tali unconditionally like you seemingly do?Tom80 wrote...

How is this relevant to anything?Tom80 wrote...

I agree that the Tali Hate group is ridiculous, but you can't expect democracy and freedom of speech to be lifted just so your favorite virtual, fictional character won't have to come under scrutiny. That they're doing it just because they hate the rampant peasantry present in the Tali fandom is irrelevant. You should just listen to Someone With Mass and ignore them. They aren't going to go away, and they are not going to shut up.Tom80 wrote...

Yeah. I mean, that's kind of the point of having a private group; not dealing with people you don't want to talk to.Arcian wrote...

It's not worth worrying about, just let them have their fun. Have to say however, that anyone who goes out of their way to construct a group around their apparent homicidal loathing of a fictional character and proceeds to write an extended rant about its fanbase, somewhat foregoes the right to call anyone "trolls with no social life" or "hypocritical fanboys".
Ultimately do have to empathise with people whose characters appear to take a backseat. Still you can't make a justified judgement on quality of character interaction until March.

1. For me "to dislike" and "having no respect" are two different things !
2. "How is this relevant to anything?" Well, there WAS a post (vanished by now) in their discussion like "What is your LI ?" Man of the answers were "Ashely" and "Miranda".
Besides, according to several polls nearly 50 % of Tali haters have human LIs !
End of Line..........................

Still not seeing the point. Tali is the onlyl female alien love interest, not liking tali doesn't necessarily mean you don't like aliens.

Yes, of course. You guys, if anyone, needs that privacy to keep out the idiots. I was merely pointing out that Tom80 shouldn't be hypocritical about it given that many of the peasant Talimancers would jump at the chance to swarm the anti-group and defend their waifu.NuclearBuddha wrote...

Don't worry.
You'll only see that one if you're after it.
Here, have another dialogue about Tali:
Joker: Good to have Tali back, even if it's just for a bit. Although every time you call her Miss vas Normandy, I kinda expect to see her walking around with a tiara and a sash.
She's also very impressed by the sight of Rannoch, so I think it'll all be worht it.

I have to ask you guys, if you ever seriously roleplay, as in you are actually thinking from sheps position while playing the game, do you actually bring tali along very often? I ask this because when I am looking at it from sheps position, romance or no, I am usually unsure whether to bring tali or not.
Looking at tali from a strictly CO position... She has great tech and engineering skills not doubt, resourceful when need be and stubborn, and she can hold her own in a fight. However while she can hold her own, she is still "fragile" and suit ruptures are a constant threat. Her combat skills are only suited for certain situations (ignoring gameplay mechanics here) and she brings invaluable quarians ship knowledge to maintain the normandy. If romancing you can add on additional worries like emotions getting in the way of duty or some sort.
She just seems like for "normal" missions she would do more good working on the normandy that getting boots down planetside with shep and his squad. She is to me, a specialist character who you bring with you when you know you need her knowledge, instead of say garrus who has a wide utility of uses for various situations.
What do you guys think?
I think that the greatest possible thing I could do for a person is invest my wellbeaing within them. Like tali is opening herself up for a possible lethal infection for shepard, my shep is willing to put his life in her hands. Also, it isn't like you could shield her from harm. The safest place in the galaxy seems to be at shepard's side anyway. Finally, I wouldn't be one to try and cage something to keep it "safe". I'd rather have her with me, no matter what the circumstance.
I don't quite get what you are saying. I am caging tali by letting her work on the ship and brining more capable and less specialize team members with me?
Reading the replies I don't think you guys are getting what I am asking. I am not saying Tali is weak. I am saying that from a story standpoint she may not be the best person to bring along. Tali is an engineer, she does her best work when given INTELLECTUAL challenges rather than putting her in the line of fire. Which is why I think she is best on the normandy. She will keep that ship going and doing precision jumps even if her only tools are wire and gum.
Another point to make is that if tali does suffer a suit rupture, she can and probably will get sick. Any amount of sickness can potentially lessen her ability to do her job. (remember outside gameplay here!) I just don't see a reason to bring her into battle, especially if you are romancing her, outside of specific specialized scenerios. You have a ship full of more combat oriented characters (several of which have more utility outside of just combat. Again Garrus as an example)
Its not coddling, not caging, (and by that logic by not allowing grunt to go out and fight you are caging him!) its just, to me, being smart.
Though you have to take into consideration of what you may come across that may require you to bring an Engineer expert along for an alternative path or open the way. While gameplay might not allow such a possibility to be played out, not to restrict players to choose certain classes for certain missions. But unless Shepard is an Engineer in your playthrough, it seems that Tali is the only permanent party member that is an Engineer in Mass Effect 3. And that is excluding Kasumi and Legion, who are at best temporary squad mates for now, if they don't survive the suicide mission.
