Ah. You meant directing it at you as in you were one of the ones agreeing with Arcy.

From what I heard of you that one time, listening to you rage over the mic would be quite entertaining, methinks...

I think you'll find nobody of the sort in CZ; the most active and visible members are the night crew and the Europeans of the old thread.DoNotIngest wrote...
Arcian is referring to the veritable horde of rather tasteless Talimancers from way back when. They aren't ficticious, they've just either left, retreated to Clan Zorah (which, I may add, is predominantly made of sensible, reasonable people. Don't get me wrong here), or moved on to the Tali-centric websites that have been created. Or are just lying low 'til they recieve another dose of Mass Effect. He usually mentions when he finds a Tali fan reasonable and stepping over his expectations, and everything's fine from there on with said person.
The "Tali-centric" web site thing is a straw man as well. The only one I know of is a ghost town, since the people who populated it fell away from the fandom long ago.
Are there differing levels of maturity in the fandom? Yes. Same with any fandom. And Arcian is trying to get a rise out of people by constantly bruiting it about.

As I said, nearly all of CZ is great. I suppose I could have just classified those with the "just left" bunch, as most of the people I'd be thinking of would no longer be posting in CZ...
Don't know about the sites. One exceptionally bizarre one looked healthy a couple weeks ago (Was from a link to a disturbing thread on said site).
Just trying to make it clear that these people haven't just dissapeared. Them and more will all be back for ME3.

or when the totp rule started to gain sentience?
remember all those modded screenshots of playthroughs were shepard's model was replaced with tali?
who made the high-res model of tali again? was it buddha or runescapeguy?
how about the custom-made tali loadscreen mods?
anyways i dont post much in this thread anymore but i always bring pictures!

tali shuffle!

I really don't get the loathing for women needing to be saved. I mean, doesn't anyone like to feel needed?
Plenty of other characters in the Mass Effect games have been needed to be saved too, but nobody whines about that.

Well, in ME1 it seems like it was a requirement to be saved by Shepard just prior to recruitment for female squadmates. I suppose some would be more sore because it carried over to ME2, where you save Tali on Haestrom. Keep in mind you also pull Liara out of the way of a flying table (As well as everything else you do in her protection) in LotSB, though you won't see as many people upset about that as she wasn't a permanent squaddie and those were DLCs.

Some of the dialogues I've read that goes on between Shep and Tali makes me wish it was 2012 already, because she's so sweet.
Well, to be fair, we knew that one already.

That's why we - the Grey Spectres - must remain vigilant for their inevitable return and ride into battle astride winged geth, cutting like an omni-blade through the horde in order to strike at the throat of the Archtalimancer. And the Grey Spectre who delivers the killing blow must sacrifice his own account by absorbing the vile essence of the Archtalimancer so as to save the accounts of the countless innocent users of the BSN. And for a time, there will be peace and the horde will retreat for many years until a new Mass Effect game comes out and they find and awaken the next Archtalimancer.
Ahem.
But yes, I know this is just the calm before the storm. I'm actually very appreciative since the face threads and general idiocy is at an all-time low. And I admit, the Mirimancers have reached an unprecedented low-point. JD's short visit to this thread was a testament to the level of peasantry the bad members of that fandom has stooped to.
Hehe. Arcian, you may not like many Talimancers, but your posts do make me chortle.

Yeah, but some of the dialogues in ME3 takes that even further.
I figured that's what you meant- that is very, very impressive. I bet Ms. Sroka had one heck of a fun time recording all these lines for Tali! I recall an interview with her from around ME2 times wherein she was quite stoked about getting to develop the character further, and ME3 looks to be taking the characters' emotional impact up to 11.

I think Tali has evolved a bit, but not too much.

No, I'm not calling them peasants. Talimancer is a blanket term that describes both good and bad fans. I am exclusively talking about the bad fans, but I still call them Talimancers simply because that's what they are. I am not talking about ALL Talimancers - that's the distinction you need to make.magnuskn wrote...

What? Where? Ugh. Everyone keeps mentioning the dialogue but I've yet to find that part of the, uh, "reveal," that isn't confusing as hell when you try to read it or missing sections. Dialogue I'm okay with, I just don't want the entire story of the game ruined. But anything Tali related is gravy.

Right. So you put out a message essentially saying "Oh, you don't want to be one of the bad Talimancers, do you? C'mon, reject and denounce your fellow Talimancers, so you can be one of the good Talimancers. Good boy!".
Also, calling people "peasants" still is trolling, even if you use unusual terms to do so.
I don't know why some people fall for this claptrap. Other fanbases certainly would not jump at a chance to denounce and reject their fellow fans, they have self-esteem. But a lack of loyalty to each other seems to be a side-effect to some Tali fans because of the constant beatdown Tali fans get by the truly sad people, those who need to constantly bash the Talimancers and threadcrap in here.
