I have always found Tali to be the most popular. People say that it is just BSN that is disproportionate in the amount of 'Talimancers.' And that Miranda is the most popular romance choice.

But I have about 15 RL friends who have played Mass Effect 2, and not a single one of them went for Miranda. About 10 of them had Tali, a couple had Jack and 1 went for Morinth. So in my experience, Tali has always been the most popular.

As for squeeing for Tali. Bug is damn right. I have popped by the Miranda thread on occassion however, and it seems to be allowed there. (However, sometimes I do visit there and there is an intelligent conversation going on, but that is usually only when the jtav or ieldra are there.)

An example of how one bad incident completely brands the whole fanbase in regards to Tali though.

Exactly. Apparently he was gonna go for Miranda. But he preferred a sexy, deadly Asari. Once he realised that not even Commander Shepard could withstand a sex brain-melt then he went for Jack instead .

When I was thinking about which character I should romance, I first thought about Miranda, because Jack, while being a pretty good character, isn't my style and Liara was nowhere to be seen. I had my hesitations, but I thought it was better than nothing.

Then I was very surprised when I saw that Tali was a available romance, and went for her, and I haven't done any other romance ever since, except the one with Liara in LotSB for giggles.

I went for Tali b/c Kelly suggested that Tali had the hots for Shepard and I thought, "What the hell."

When I thought about who I romance in ME2 at first i thought of Miranda, but I soon lost my interest in her as she first was a cold ice queen with a big attitude, then she suddenly turn 180 degrees around and starts complaining about how perfect she is for the rest the game, that put me off.

Jack wasn't my type.

Tali had personality, some well written lines and she doesn't complain so much she rather explain things and thinks of Shepard before herself and her needs and that got my attention. I had to romance her simple because she was everything I wanted in a girl and the love scene was just a spot on match, with Tali's personality.

The asari vampire never gave her a thought for obvious reason and her character was so lame, I can't believe she can be a squadmate depending on your choices in ME2, she adds nothing to the team.

I have a playthrough with Morinth because I thought it would be interesting to see how she turned out in ME3. Especially in regards to the leak on the information regarding Samara in ME3.

You wouldn't have needed to make a ManShep just for the sake of romancing her if she was available to both a male and female Shepard. What is my head canon FemShep to do now?

I'v never picked Morinth. My sheps are usually Paragade/Renegon so I usually lack enough points to even be able to make the choice. Gotta make a full renegade so I can unlock Dominate to play with...

I didn't pick Tali as my LI until my third playthrough. I was completely new to the series and uninterested in teh romance plot. So I just went with the 'hot chick' Miranda cause I could. Bought ME1 after i'd played ME2 twice, played through it and at the start of my third ME2 playthrough I new i'd be picking Tali. My canon shep is also the only one who's manced Tali.

You can just save before the confrontation between Morinth and Samara, choose Morinth, get Dominate, reload your save and then pick Samara and still have Dominate. Faster and easier.

I almost saw Tali's romance on YouTube, but I managed to stop myself from seeing the last part, which I am very happy for.

Yeah I know. I'v never got around to it though. Have to load up my canonshep sometime and find a save near Samaras loyalty. I don't think any of my other sheps have enough para/rene points to pass the checks.

No, no. That very much wasn't my intention. But, at least I have a better understanding of how things stand. I'll keep the Banner Waving to a minimum.
