I like the idea of the wires on the side of her head. It is actually quite similar to how I imagine quarians to look like with the wires, except I see them with white or grey metallic skin.
Very well constructed artwork though.

I'm not so fond of that one. She has the forehead of Aang and the chin of Sam Witwer. Not the best combination, IMO.
My God!
I like the eye-shape, but I don't picture Tali as violet. I kinda see her with a grey-silver skin tone.

Without the stars.
Sorry, belated Thanks. Thought about posting something but didn't want to be *that* guy leaving possible spoilers out in the open. Apprecite it.

It probably is the only thing that really detracts from it, the colouring/rendering of the image though is quite gorgeous.Someone With Mass wrote...

And how did they get the gold part so goldy/shiny looking? If only I could digitally colour things so well.

Great art but its not to my taste. Still looks too human to me, if they would push it more toward the drell side of the human alien line than the asari one I would approve more.

Ah yes, the long gone time of great trolls who had great success on the interwebz and actually making people laugh. I was there...good times. Le sigh.

Don't let him fool you he still posts there or on one of its copy-cat sites.

I'm curious why none of the imagined artworks depict them with snouts. The suits of male quarians especially have a very long muzzle.
Because quarians are shown with human style noses through the visor. You have to work with what you are given.

Because snouts are generally unattractive, I would imagine.fdgvdddvdfdfbdfb wrote...

@tasha
I would so like to see quarians have a grey/metallic skin tone, that would be very exotic and it's not "too human". ; )

It would be just different. many just expect tali's skin to be purple or pail due to suit life. I'm hoping for something different.DoNotIngest wrote...
Metallic would be a tad disturbing what with the Geth and all.

I find that most fanart of Tali looks too human. It's a bit disappointing, just like the old Star Trek (the original 60s TV series, not the movies) 'aliens'.
Not to beat a dead horse that's likely been turned into dust by this point, but given their description in Mass Effect: Ascension, the quarian skeleton found on one of the side missions in ME2 that looks pretty darned humanish, (admittedly old, and therefore, suspect) concept art of Tali's face, and what we've already seen of Tali's face in-game, I really don't see how quarians aren't going to be 2nd place behind the asari for most human-like as far as facial features go. What'd be your standard for being sufficiently alien enough?

as for what would qualify as "alien enough"...well we know that for all intents and purposes, they have a human facial structure....
just make it so their eyes are REALLY alien, their skin isn't just human skin +different color (different texture both in terms of touch and appearance would be nice), really weird ears (since in Ascension that seems to be the only alien thing about them), NO HAIR...and if they do they shouldn't only have it on their head like we do. I dunno...
Think of the drell. They have a really human facial structure, but they have enough meddling done to them that it can pass off as alien enough.
Asari are really stretching it. THREE human aliens without any common ancestry or genetic meddling makes no sense..
I'd draw it but I can't pull a pic out of my ass so I'll do a rough sketch of what I think would be adequate enough at a later point in time...

Why does everyone think quarians are purple, anyway? Is it because Tali has a purple suit? Because most quarians don't have purple suits, so suit and skin colours must be unrelated. On the other hand, if they want her to be purple because purple is the best colour in the spectrum, well, I find it hard to argue with that.ZenJestr wrote...
yea....I don't mind certain human features (because lets face it...from what we can see through the visor, it looks pretty human)...but people literally just make a purple elf and call it a day...

@Cthulu Good imagining, but then look at Garrus. He's not my first choice, but it's definitely not because of his looks. Maybe looks are a lot more important to males though.
@Joseph Yeah, Asari take this to absurd levels. Personally I picture Quarians as having an equine-esque look to them.
Anyway I seem to be the harbinger of off-topicnes, better run before Collider kicks me out.

Purple is just Tali's signature color. I saw it listed in Macy's.ZenJestr wrote...
I personally do not think they are purple...and if they are it should be a vaguely gray kind of purple...like gray with a purplish tint. I see them as having more of a gray skin tone...I don't think they have human skin tones (different shades of brown) or rather I think they shouldn't. But purple for some reason is the most popular color when it comes to her skin...I dunno...I guess it started because Tali wore purple and Tali was the only quarian we met in ME1....(even though, in ME1 she can get a red visor, an orange visor, a green visor, and a blue visor, alongside her standard purple one)

Something like turians. Oddly enough, the turians are pretty far from human but behave like humans. Hell, the entire universe behaves like humans. Or maybe one of the (early) Star Wars aliens.
