Random Tali line from the script!
Commander, it seems Tali's taking what happened on *spoiler* hard. She's in the lounge, if you want to check on her.
I guess that's how they're moving around on the ship.
I've always hoped they would give the Squadmates more of a life *on* the ship, i.e. show them in different places. For instance, show Tali working on a Control Panel on the command deck, or, even better, give Tali private Quarters. As the SR2's Chief Engineer (I believe Adams comes back, no? Still, he would happily defer to her once she's back onboard) she would warrent a personal space as opposed to bunking in one of the standard berthings. Not to mention, might be nice to see a tender moment in Tali's personal space as opposed to always having those damn Fish in the Background. As we all know, Tali doens't visit Shepard for the Fish.

I thought she wouldn't be a squadmate at first (which I would have accepted with so many characters in ME2, which I also believe was the biggest mistake BioWare ever did with the trilogy), but when they confirmed it, I was happy.
While I always believed that Tali would, in fact, be a Squadmate (keep in mind, she was so popular after ME1 that they hinted she would be romancible even in the Early days of the Original Forums) I do agree that the whole "Dirty Dozen" approach they were going for with ME2 was a Mistake, and not just because they ripped us off by making us actually *buy* the Final Character.

This "Tali is only a squadmate because of the fans" thing is good to know (it's a good indication that they do listen, despite what some would have you believe), but I do worry that this news is only going to make some of the anti-Tali people even more bitter than they already are.
Eh, let them.
I'll be too busy playing ME3 to care.

I love all the Mjmancers are mad about Tali becoming a squadmate and apparently being `forced` on us but they dont care about Liara and Garrus?
They have to hate someone...they think that Miranda has a personality.

Anybody that has read the leaks... Does Shala knows something about their relationship? I would love to hear what she thinks.
Right, this is my cue to leave this thread.

No, but there's one admiral that's accusing Shepard of "popping Tali's induction filter"

I have always thought that Bioware have listened very strongly to BSN and their fans. Especially in regards to Tali and Garrus.

The key question is was it especially OR only. We've yet to see, ME3 will be decide it. It better be the former.Tasha vas Nar Rayya wrote...

But what can I say, congratz on making her the squadmate. The game will be more enjoyable for Tali fans.

It's the former. There's also Liara, after all (not that I'm complaining about that).IsaacShep wrote...

Of course not. But they sure can try to make as much fanbases a bit happier as possible, not focus only on a couple. Legion... :'(((Welsh Inferno wrote...
They cant make every fanbase happy unfortunately.

I personally think Liara is a little worse offender in the fanservice department. Being the Shadow Broker and the fact that she can't be killed and everything.

I fear this will exacerbate the, erm, "innate tension" (yeah, politically correctness, bear with me) in the community fandoms... Let's hope this doesn't bring a new wave of trolling and spite from both sides... :/
That said, this is quite an interesting news... Assuming Mr. Priestly was talking about Tali's ME3 role (and not her ME2 one), I'm very curious about what the "original plans" were for her character...
It would also explain the lack of early images depicting her, aside from that glimpse with Shep and Garrus...
BTW, amazing picture there Tasha!

This is why I am excited for ME3. I didn't like what happened to Kaidan or Ash on Horizon, and so I see ME3 as a chance to make them awesome to me once again.IsaacShep wrote...

And yes, that picture is awesome, but yeah, better with the visor.

Problem being, we'd then have the same situation as ME2. Lots of characters with not enough to say. Like i said earlier BW shot themselves in the foot having 12 squaddies in ME2. If they kept it to 6/7 they would probably have enough time and money to give all of the characters a good part.
