Is it worth killing off some crew to bring Legion on Tali's loyalty quest? Anyone done it?

What? In ME2? Maybe its a glitch but I had numerous playthroughs where I managed to bring Legion to Tali's loyalty mission *before* the IFF was installed.

No one has to die actually. Just do the loyalty quest after the SS...

Personally I don't think you're experiencing the full story arc of Tali's loyalty quest without bringing Legion. He opens up *more* (not different) dialogue options, and he helps make the combat part of mission alot less boring (the battle on the Alarei is very dull with a biotic squaddie).

ya bringing legion along for tali's recruitment/loyalty mission does open up the game a lot in that part...its just such a pain to not have tali with her shield drain so late in the game.

But if I do her loyalty quest after the SM won't she be shark bait and possibly die. And yah, I know there are ways to keep unloyal squaddies alive but this is my head canon playthrough, I am trying to Metagame as little as possible and Shep really wants to put Tali in those vents. So I am slow and need this reiterated, I can do Tali's quest after aquiring Legion during the IFF quest, without killing off my crewmen. I really just don't want Doc to die.

Can someone who read the whole spoiler tell me how many missions got dialogue for tali?

It's actually hard to tell if Tali is the one who has the dialogues (with the exception of the instances where she's shocked and says "Keelah" or things like "For the Idenna!") because they're usually not that different from the rest of them. But I'd say that she has dialogues for... about 65-70% of the game (maybe more), with the majority of them being used while the geth/quarian conflict is going on.

If I was sure enough, I'd say that she has dialogues in just about every mission (as everyone else pretty much have) starting after you've completed the intro missions and you're given free hands. But I'm not sure. Again, it's hard to tell sometimes.

Two things: First, Doc Chakwas NEVER dies naturally due to being kidnapped (everyone else does however), you have to specifically make a decision during the SM proper in order for her to die...

Second, yes you can... Once you get the IFF a count down starts, normally you only get one mission before the Collectors kidnap your crew (and that is generally used for Legion Loyalty Mission), however if you still have uncompleted Loyalty/Recruiting missions, you get two before the kidnapping instead of just one, so you just have to do it like this: IFF > Tali's loyalty > Legion's loyalty (it is imperative that you talk to Legion after Tali's loyalty to unlock its own loyalty mission)...

Technically you could save both Tali's recruitment and loyalty for after the IFF mission and bring Legion in both (getting special dialogue), consider, however, that this way you won't be able to have a loyal Legion in the SM (as the kidnapping triggers after the second mission)...
After the kidnapping if don't want to lose anyone you have to immediately go through the Omega 4 Relay, even just one mission after that kills off half the crew as far as I know... :/

Hope this helps... :)

If she is available 65%-70% of the game I'd be very happy. And it leaves room for that "no one is permanent" part.;)

This "Tali is only a squadmate because of the fans" thing is good to know (it's a good indication that they do listen, despite what some would have you believe), but I do worry that this news is only going to make some of the anti-Tali people even more bitter than they already are.

Don't you have any sympathy for them? Wouldn't you be pissed if Miranda or Jack was elevated to squaddie status at the cost of relegating Tali to a cameo position?

Everyone deserves their money's worth when it comes to squadmates, and right now Garrus and Tali fans are the only ones getting that.

You forgot Liara fans again .;)

And yes, I would be unhappy. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about people taking that unhappiness out on the Tali fans and insulting them; which, yesterday, was exactly what happened. You have the right to be upset, but not to be a **** about it, and it was the latter I was expressing my concern over. Sorry it that wasn't clear.

So, not to keep beating a dead horse here, but, has it been clearly clarified that Preistly's comment was not ture? I saw, and reposted, Ms. Merizan's comment about Chris's tweet or whatever being inaccurate. However, since then I've only seen the response posted by Buggirl and, well, frankly, it's hard to tell what Chris is saying as it sounds like the usual Chris-Snark that he's so well known for. So, basically, when he said that Fan Demand kept Tali as a Squadmate in ME3 according to him that's not what he was saying at all?

That makes sense. Should have known Bioware would never be silly enough to seriously consider not having Tali on the squad.^_^

So, I don't get it. What was the point of him doing that? I mean, if he *knew* it wasn't true why would he, as Community Manager (he is, no?) say something he knew wasn't true and that could likely incite members of the various Fan-Circles against one another?

Well, it wouldn't be the first time someone's done that.

I just liked how everyone immediately jumped the gun and accepted it as facts when they have had doubts about his words before.

I love BioWare, I mean I seriously do. But, if this is some kind of marketing study attempt or just the BioWare team that over-sees the Community being really, really bored, I just don't get it. Intentionally seeing if you can turn the community against one another over beloved characters seems like a Social Experiment worthy of Vault-Tec.

Well Chris said it in a chat to people watching a stream, I doubt he expected someone to see it and care enough to then copy/paste the entire log over to BSN. I think he was just trying to raise some funds for the ME Marathon guys. Wouldn't surprise me though if he was trying to get people on BSN riled up. Casey seemed to try it with this tweet last week.

Sadly, that *might* be true. But, if so, that's kind of my point. I mean, at this juncture, given previous poop storms that have happened, some of which resulted in the Tali Thread being locked by Stanley "The Hammer" Woo, there's no way Casey or Chris are not aware of what riles up the Fanbases and what doesn't; as such, the question is, why would they continuously want to do something they always end up having to put a stop to? I mean, is it a marketing thing? Social Experiment? Lex Luthor complex?

Especially in regards to Tali and Garrus.

The key question is was it especially OR  only. We've yet to see, ME3 will be decide it. It better be the former.

But what can I say, congratz on making her the squadmate. The game will be more enjoyable for Tali fans.

i think they are trying to get us off-kilter so we start wondering what's different and what's the same in mass3 for those of us who read the spoilers.

it kinda reminds me of what i did when i accidently spoiled the ending for deathly hallows to a friend. i started making up other bullsh** about the story and then told him some of em were true, or some of em were straight out lies and that the two previous statements might not be reliable.

since he didnt know which was which, i guess i kinda unspoiled it for him.

I like the way Walters and Hudson are displaying their positive attitude for Tali a tad better.
