We know quarians have two eyes, a nose, something now quite maybe ears, etc. Plenty of room for creativity, which Is all I ask from bioware. Be creative with the quarians, don't cop out with space elves or another rubber wig/mask race.

We don't know how human looking quarians are. The vague descriptions from the book could have been describing drell or batarians without context.

We also know that they have cheeks and mouths.

It was not just a Garrus section, if I remember correctly it was a BioWare pulse episode regarding Garrus and his new look in ME3, it also dipped momentarily in how BioWare developed aliens (and the difficulty of correctly create believable fem!aliens of the various species), Tali was taken as a side example of how a character appearance varied between the games (in relation to the same happening to Garrus)...IsaacShep wrote...
What was that video with some concept artist (I think) or some designer from BioWare talking about's Tali's design and how she was very popular? I think it was some behind the scenes video, it also had Garrus section AFAIR. Anyone knows?
At least that's what I remember, try looking in the BioWare pulse page, if it's still there it should be something like "Making of Garrus" or something similar...

I figured they did but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to bother looking it up at the time. Point still stands though. The description is vague enough to describe a number of species within the game.

Different skin tone/texture, "ears", and whatever she has for/in place of hair is about all Bioware can change drastically from humans, besides the obvious physical differences visible through the suit. Eye shape, if not design, is identical or nearly so, nose is identical, and apparently all but their ears are quite human-like. Teeth/tongue is another option for differing looks.
Good enough for Shepard to make out with.
