I'm actually curious as to what kind of impact Daro'Xen will have on the story though, if Tali is still around. I've heard bits and pieces of what happens if Tali is dead, but not anything referencing to what occurs if Tali lives. Additional conflict/problems to arise perhaps?

I don't think it's much of a spoiler to say that there appears to be some conflict.

There is a humorous exchange between them as to why Shepard has influence over her.

Any relationship with Xen would be the stuff that Cannibal Corpse songs are made of. Death, autopsies and general ugliness.

I've said it before and I will say it again, Claudia Black would sound sexy reading the phone book.

Danger is the spice of life, is it not? I could have sworn I heard that somewhere.

Tali is foolish, self-centered, immature, and a hypocrite.

Xen is perfect.

She's intelligent, rational, driven, and passionate.

Really the whole "Xen is crazy" thing has never made sense to me. It really isn't supported by the game beyond Tali saying it (an example of her being rude and immature). Xen is likely a genius and I feel her pain, surrounded by people who must surely frustrate her with their stupidity.

Though the question is kind of moot because I won't be romancing Tali anymore. My Shepard will be loveless for the whole trilogy now.

Xen's philosophy can basically be summed up as follows: "Remember those guys that nearly wiped us out last time we tried to do something bad to them? Let's try and enslave them again!"

That's surely the sign of a balanced and healthy mind.

What Xen wants to do goes way beyond rewriting the heretics. She wants to remove their sentience and return them to being survivors. Leaving aside the moral issues involved here (pearls before swine and all that) involved in lobotomising an entire race, she's going down the exact same road of flat out hubris that led to their current plight. And unlike their ancestors 300 years ago, she's well aware of what happened before. That fits insanity in my books.

No, it is pretty much exactly the same thing. She wants to use a virus to change how the geth think and control them. This is exactly what you do if you rewrite the Heretics. Exactly.

It is hypocritical to call Xen foolish for wanting to do this if you rewrote the Heretics.

She says nothing about lobotomizing them or making them any less sentient. After all, she doesn't consider them conscious beings anyway.

So? She should still choose a solution she thinks is for everyone's best interest. That is what good leaders do.

If she can't sort out what she wants in her own head on such a straight forward issue then she's too immature to have a voice.

She's too deeply involved in the issue to criticize all the people trying to make progress, to hide important evidence, and then refuse to pick a side.
