No, you can just thank the one kid and not the rest of us if you don't mind :P

Bioware definitely loves building up expectations to make you more interested in their game, though. You could call that trolling; I remember the one Bioware tweet about "If we only had the resources to focus on and develop one LI, who should it be?" Which basically is literally the definition of :trolololo. There's no way they'd show Tali's face anyway, I mean are you serious? They're not even willing to show us Tali as a squadmate, let alone something built up to be so significant as Bioware has set up Tali's face.

And also, if you take screenshots at the wrong time Miranda does look funny, if not a bit like a certain pop star. It's just a joke anyway, so don't let it get under your skin. Some people just think the only way to combat immaturity against Talimancers is more immaturity of their own.

I like this human! He understands!

This is sadly true. However, if you did play it on higher custom settings, this doesn't occur. Also, I don't think Yvonne Strahovski's face is that round...

Farewell good sir. You have restored my faith in today's people somewhat.

Yvonne's face isn't that round, its just when they slapped her face on miranda's head it can look wrong at various angles. The face itself is fine, but man it can make for some creepy uncanny valley.

Which is why I usually prefer non face captured characters, like jack. Jack has a nice face built within the game, proabbly based on a real person but still built within the engine. I think bioware should clean up miranda somehow for ME3, get rid of some of that roundness, make her fesh mesh better with the rest of her body.

Which is also why I don't want any face cap for Tali. Her voice actor looks fine, but I would rather an entirely new face built from the ground up to avoid any uncanny valley.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of using Sroka's face for Tali, but I think it'll be harder to use the same kind of technology for Tali because Quarians will probably be further up the Drell level of similarity to humans and further away from the Asari. That still isn't far enough away that they probably won't use a model, but it's definitely left face-scan territory.

(Unless Quarians are cosmic Elves, of course. Or did we decide that Quarians are Dwarves, because Asari are Elves?)

On a side note, I've come to the conclusion that Tali's definitely getting new armor/a new outfit for ME3. Normally I'd say that as a Quarian a suit change would be impractical after a 6 month time-skip, but I think all of the squadies are getting new outfits except for Tali otherwise.

Garrus > New Armor
Kaiden > New Armor
Ashley > New casual AND new armor
Liara > Her Dress she wore as an information broker counts as her ME2 appearance, while LotSB was a sneak peak at her ME3 design
Jack > Got a whole new redesign, and as far as Bioware has confirmed we don't know if she's permanent.

Given they even designated resources to possible guest squadmates, I find it hard to believe Tali will stick to a ported ME2 design.

I've always said I'd be in favour of using Sroka's face as inspiration for Tali. Using a face cap wouldn't work because a) Sroka doesn't look alien enough, and B) from what we can see through the mask, I think Tali's head is a lot narrower than Sroka's.

And I approve of Bioware building the anticipation. I'm a member of the evil school of evil authors myself (you know, the kind of writing that makes you think a character might have died and then leaves you guessing for a few chapters). Posted Image

Miranda looks pretty in some angles and ugly in others. It is hard to see what the problem is. Maybe the lighting? Anyway sheploo's face is also modeled in on a person looks fine in every angle.

so as not to SPAM this - find and review the Quarian 'procedure' by which the Adfmiralty Board is replaced - Tali is addicted to Shepard - would (and has) do anything for him - My best guess - talileads new Admiralty Board but remains with Shepard so as to co ordinate the Migrant fleet movements with his overall command - she is ALWAYS hoping he will yank her mask. Tali will be at his side until the end.

They're just building suspense for the fans, that's my take on it. They know full well how the fanbase is, so they're probably going to reveal any new stuff on Tali as the last moment possible. Additionally, if any of the interviews/tweets have any bearing on Bioware's actual feelings about the character, the lack of a reveal could simply be due to them agonizing over the final representation of the character.

Judging by some of the other designs BioWare have done for their female characters, they're probably agonizing over how they can have her show cleavage while still wearing an environmental suit...

LOL.

Yeah, or creating a clear section of her suit over her midriff so it can be seen without being exposed to the environment.

Nah, I have a little bit more stock in them at this point. From what they've said earlier they tried to clean up their act on things like Samara's gigantic spotted mams... but at the same time Ashley's suit.... Meh, I'm not really one to debate this topic. It's a reflection of modern society if anything else. We're fine showing violence but for some reason our own bodies being exposed is "overly sexualized" and bad for us. Further into that you have the dicotomy between sexualizing males vs. females. The whole arguement, at least from my stance, is ridiculous.

i.e. I don't care about it, as long as it's tastefully done. Samara was fine, it suited her character in a way. Miranda fits in the same boat, as it's part of her whole 'femme fatale' thing (regardless if a catsuit is completely stupid from a practical standpoint). For that matter shirtless Jacob both in an outside of romance scenes was fine as well for people who enjoy that sort of thing. Honestly, I'm more worried about characters playing around in cold vacuum or hostile environments with nothing but a small respirator to cover their exposed skin.

I don't think we'll have to worry about Tali, unless it's part of some thing later on in the game/during a romance subplot.

Gawd I hope not.  Tali's purple swirls are as much a part of Tali's character as Gaga's atrocious attire is for Gaga.
The alternate armor pack was fine for Tali, just no hud in a hud please.

Wow a debate that ended in a civil manner. Am I on BSN?!

Nope, you're in hell.

Which is actually pretty nice compared to the BSN.

Nah, what tali needs to be actually attractive is a HUD within a HUD within a HUD within a helmet.

Now THAT would be something nobody else could pull off.

She already does that with multiple removable masks.

Where was it that I saw a concept of Tali that had a bunch of really long (like nearly touching the ground long) orange... Somethings trailing out the back of her helmet towards the ground? Looked like phoenix plumage or something, really. Is it from an art book?

Erm, I don't remember. I just remember the split-visor concept from ME1 and the football head from ME2. Not sure if I'm in favor of her having ribbons hanging all over the plce. Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure if I'd end up liking it over something more similar to the current model.

I swear I get a laugh every time you use those smilies lately.

But, anyway, I agree. The new suit was fine, just keep the old swirls and get rid of the HUD. The armour plating was a nice effect, and I certainly can't complain with it, it just needed something familiar. The ME2 art book even said they kept the familiar look from ME to ME2. They have come this far with familiarities, why not stick with it?

I dunno, they haven't done that for Jack's concept art. And they haven't oversexualised her. Also, please don't say that, part of the reason I like and respect Tali is that she isn't oversexualised, and she doesn't really advertise herself in that way.

Okay now.  What is so funny about me including a :) in my statements?

And for ME3, if they kept the ME2 look, I would actually be more than happy.  It was a GREAT design.

See!  No :) in my statement.

I wouldn't complain if they kept the ME2 outfit, but I'd like to see at least a few extra armor accessories during a galactic war.
