I'm still trying to figure out why she would want to slap Shepard in the first place. But I agree, no Shepard getting slapped. By anyone, Tali or mother or even some random person.

Shepard, missing (dead) for two years.  Never replying to his mothers emails?  What mom would NOT remind their son about that!  :)

Quarians HAVE to have hair. There are no insects on their planet. The only way flowers and stuff could move about is if they are caught in the hairs of animals. Am i right on this one?

Well... kind of hard to tell, really. Tali says large animals (equivalent of the horse/cow animal we see around the ME universe, or some other animal), but she never says that it was quarians, too. So, I think it's still a bit of an unknown. I don't think there is possibility that hasn't already been brought forth on that topic. Still nice to speculate, though.

Personally, I would prefer something a little more inventive than just hair (shows a little bit of creativity). Either bald, or with some sort of quills. Also, when I say bald, I mean it in a way that they could look like drell (not that they do) and have tiny scales.

Either way, I have a funny feeling that we are not actually going to see her face. That's probably just me, though. It would be a pleasant surprise if we do.

I hope we see her face. I'm pretty sure I'll have some wierd psychological issues if I don't. But why quills? I think she has more along the line of predator/kerrigan hair. Dreadlock type tendrils, but obviously nowhere near the volume of kerrigan's hair.

Anyone here played the beta? One of my friends who played it say shotguns are way too overpowered and accurate. If this is true Tali(and other squad mates with shotguns) will be very useful just like in ME1.^_^

Overpowered shotguns? Since my first import will be with a Vanguard who brings Tali everywhere, that sounds very promising.

I haven't played the beta myself though, so I guess I can't verify whether it's true.

That's how I figure it too. I mean it's a good enough excuse anyway not to have another bald alien or an alien with a wrinkled forehead or ridges or some other Star Trek cliche.

I hope energy drain is still in the game. Power armour sentinel + heavy energy drain is insane. I'd rather have that than better shotguns.

Energy drain is still in there. It even provides a slight armor bonus this time.

The veils themselves simulate hair anyhow. The way her veil falls in ME compared to ME2 makes it seem like a hairstyle it got longer in 2. There is no need for the veils anyway they are decoration and  to me anyway it would seem the only purpose of making them and keeping them for 300 years would mean they're trying to simulate the hair they either once had or that is concealed under their helmets. Its kind of like how the nuke humans were in the last planet of the apes when they go into the subway church and the group is worshiping the nuke they take off their wigs these people kept the wigs and maintained them for the sole purpose of vanity and to preserve something they all once had and where very fond of.

For the whole shep getting slapped by his mom and her hugging Tali thing we don't know how open she is to aliens much less the complications of their relationship she knows like shep knows Tali has to be suit bound and except for when she adapts to Rannoch but then shep will have to be suit bound there she may not like the idea of shep dating a Quarian because both are only able to be happy half the time. But I'm sure BW will forgo such a reaction and just do the cool mom approach where she's a-ok with everything the boy does. She didn't care when he brought back the biker chick that one day for prom she won't care if he's dating a Quarian or any alien so long as he's happy even half the time.

Now onto the slapping thing. I dont' think his mom should slap him for not calling and being dead for 2 years. I think she should kill him. Honestly I do think she should be upset he doesn't or can't call her and she mourned for him like everybody else did for 2 years I don't want a one line I'm sorry mom and she's all fine again she needs to have a deeper explanation then that and maybe after shes done murdering him and getting answers she then hugs him and cries with him. Both should be upset here I'd hate for shep to be a brick when all of 2 he never even bothered to ask Miranda, Chakwas, or Mordin on his death and receive counseling on it.

Shep however could be slapped if the situation demands it like an enemy hits him because he's being a smart but I don't think his LI or mom should slap him I can't think of any real reason they should. .

I see it that way too.

I think someone already mentioned it, that while the quills would be an interesting and unique way to portray her hair, I personally would have a difficult time getting over the fact that it would remind me of a certain ex-ghost every time I saw it.

As for the mamashep slapping issue, I'd have to say that wouldn't mesh with me. It would take a certain type of personality to smack a grown man/woman (I don't just mean a shrew), and I didn't gather that from the tone of Hannah Shepard's letter. Even though obviously annoyed, she seemed well versed enough in the way military life sometimes operates to understand why her son/daughter was keeping a tight lip on the situation. That being said, I'd still like to see some sort of meeting/confrontation where she can meet Shep face-to-face and get some answers and provide some genuine motherly discourse.

Tali slapping Shepard? No. Not if we're talking about when she and Shep meet up again after the little trial debacle. I think she'd be mature enough to understand that Shepard is just doing his duty in answering for crimes they've accused him with. If she slapped him for this alone being the reason for his absence, I'd have to call her character development into question. It's not like he had a choice or betrayed her.

*edit* Crap, top of page. I have nothing in the way of images so I guess I'll try to find something*

Poor Shep can't get a break. No matter what the backround story, his/her parents are dead/missing. I'd kinda prefer there was at least ONE storyline where Shep has living relatives.

Well yeah, that's kinda what I mean. It would be, I guess, realistic to have her killed off at some point in the third game, but it just seems like reducing the differentiation between the storylines. I don't think all three Shepards need to have the MY PARENTS ARE DEEEEEEEEAAAD!! background.

I just wish they'd clarify whether or not Spacer Shep's dad is still around.

No shepard has any living relatives except for spacer shep's mom.

Good grief people! The slap was a JOKE! :) Good (I thought) for fanfiction but not in the ME game itself.

Maybe a small circle of slapping, the one in the left slaps the one in the right.

My heart goes to the one who's next to a krogan.

Any news about Tali?

I don't think we've been given any official news about Tali since she was announced as a squad member. If it weren't for the leak, I think I would have gone crazy.

I think they are. Like when they showed us pages from the art book: we saw Vega, Liara, Garrus, Kaidan, and Ashley, but suspiciously no Tali.

True, I do wonder what they are doing with her.
