Which is exactly why it should not be done. There are 16 squaddies with their own fanbases who all deserve equal treatment.

Which I didn't really have a problem with for a midquel story. What I have taken from the trailers and interviews is that three is going to be this: 25% ME1, 35% ME2, and 40% its own thing. The part we need to look at is whats new. Sure, everyone has their favorite game between ME and ME2, but I don't have a major problem with either. So, instead of wondering what they are taking from what I already love, I get excited for the unknown.

She already recieved special attention and treatement, only she and Garrus are permanent squadmates in all 3 games so frankly, Tali fans shouldn't even think about deamding anything more.

I think the reason that I focus on Tali so much is becuase I know that she is in all three.... I doubt my set up for a Kasumi romance will end up with anything (But I did it just in case) and I even have doubts about some of my ME2 squad romances having genuine substance in ME3. With Tali and Garrus, you really get a fleshed out narrative.... and so, as such, I end up using more space for Talimancing.

Anyone who suggested that can't be serious.

Otherwise it's dumb as those many toggle on/off feature x and y.

No, I wasn't being that serious, I just thought it would be a nice pipe dream for us Tali fans. Kind of like ME3 for christmas, you thought it might happen, but in the back of your mind you knew it was going to be delayed till the spring.

Well, I've finally given in and pre-ordered ME3. The regular edition, which is expensive enough if you include shipping to Japan, thank you.

This is kind of a big deal for me, as I don't buy many games. 99% of my recent game purchases have been old stuff from gog.com where it's easier (and cheaper) to re-buy and download them there than to ask someone to dig my originals out of the storage container in the Netherlands and ship them here, and then pray the disks still work after 20 years. And on the rare occasion where I do buy modern games, I tend to wait for the price to go down. For example, I only "bought" Portal after there was a special offer on Steam where you could get it for free! I'm paying more for ME3 now than I paid for ME1 and 2 combined!

This is, as far as I can recall, only the second time ever that I pre-ordered a game. The last time was Dreamfall back in 2006. Dreamfall unfortunately failed to live up to expectations; the story was great, still the best story in gaming history imo (except for the WTF ending), but the gameplay was awful. Hopefully ME3 will fare better. Since I'm already not really a fan of shooters or RPGs, all the gameplay has to do is be not too hard or frustrating; the game will be judged mainly on story, characters and writing as far as I'm concerned, and that better involve an awesome conclusion to the Tali romance subplot.

By that logic, we shouldn't see anything of Wrex or the Citadel either.

Was Wrex a perma squadmate in ME2? Or will be in ME3? Was the Citadel featured prominently in ME2? Nope!

Oh, right. Because then I can't hear them say the same thing as every other squadmate have with the exception of maybe three-four missions where they are actually important.

That's a vital thing to the quality of the game.

You can definitely tell they were using her ME2 design as a placeholder for that one single scene (I'm largely assuming, given that it was still in production when they made the trailer and they were even still using Shepard in his Cerberus uniform for that same sequence with Legion, which is ridiculous given the nature of Cerberus in ME3).


Honestly, Bioware's PR/marketing department's consistent handling of not showing Tali whatsoever is getting more than a little grating by now - if it was a similar situation to the two other remaining squadmates (who's appearance is suppose to be a major reveal), then I'd have no issue, but they've already confirmed numerious times that she's in the game and that she's a main squad member, so why the big secret as to showing Tali's ME3 design unlike Garrus who's in the same boat as her? (apart from deliberately messing with her fanfase, which I sadly suspecting to be the truth at this point)

Well, Liara is just going to be at the forefront because she is one of the most important characters. From ME on, she has always had a major plot element. You might not like that, but: she did get an entire DLC to herself, helped Shepard out with his visions, is a LI(With DLC), is the Shadow Broker, and saved Shepard from the Collectors. I personally would have liked more Tali or Ash/Kaiden centric trailers.... but they just don't have as big a vested story as Liara.

I don't mind at all. None of the characters have actually gotten anything but background characters during fighting and liara was even crushed like a bug in her main appearance.

I can wait three months to see tali. Honestly it might make me feel better after all that junk with Ashley.

Please. With the moaning about Team Dextro being in all three games, if you have an issue with it then talk to Bioware devs. Because the people on this thread (or the normal posters on BSN) don't decide who Bioware favours in their games. Also, there is no point in complaining until the game actually comes out.

This isn't aimed at one particular person, the issue has cropped up in multiple threads. And I am just getting tired of it.

For Tali in Marketing I say wait for next year.


The Old Republic is now released and Bioware devs are currently on vacation.

3 months are more then enough for mass marketing of ME3.

I'm simply banking on the fact that this is the last game. (For now.) Which means that Bioware will most likely be tying up as many loose ends as possible, for both newcomers and veterans of the series. Which includes what the hell a quarian looks like under those buckets.

And you know if they revealed one quarian's face, and then DIDN'T reveal Tali's, there'd be a mysterious terrorist strike in Edmonton.

I'm just hoping that the Tali we've seen for now IS a placeholder; seeing as everyone else has gotten shiney new clothes to play in.
