I could get behind that.

Both figuratively and literally.

The face is rather acceptable but the shining eyes make no sense. Neither evolutionary or cybernetically. They would blind the person.

Sci-fi. Renegade Shepard, TIM, and Saren all had glowing eyes and see just fine.

Erm... Do not want. Looks too much like a zombie, or a body that was pulled out of a lake after being there for over a week.

I believe the "rule of cool" is in play.

Since we like to wildly speculate on the glowing eyes, how 'bout this. Maybe Quarian eyes emit light in a spectrum that is visible to human eyes, but not in a spectrum used by Quarians for actual perception. That way they could have glowing eyes, but not interfere with their vision. Yeah, incredibly unlikely, but when has that ever stopped us?

I think it may be just a simple bio-luminescence. Or... the eyes are more reflective due to the color of the iris and sclera, maybe this is enhanced through the visor just to make the face more expressive.

Want to see what happens in 3 with the romances, if you went with liara during me1 and pickled up shadow broker with 2 but dumped her for tali. I have a few sheps to play this out. I just can't break tali's heart. A relationship with tali seems more meaningful to me, she's willing to risk bodily harm to be with you. I don't get that with the liara character.

Renegade Shepard was ridiculous with glowing eyes.  That was just an artistic view of one cyborg not the entire human race.  We actually have no idea if the ingame Shepard was using normal eyes and not artificial constructs.  The same thing goes for Saren.  He was upgraded by Sovereign but again, we have no idea if they are real eyes or just contructs.
TIM had pupils that were normal.  The iris' had cybernetics, not the entire eye.
For the quarians to replace their eyes with cybernetic constructs, the resources used could not be justified.  Their masks/visors contained HUDs.  You would not alter your eyes when you wear a visor that does the same thing.  The quarians are all about conserving resources.  Doing that to their eyes is just not believable.

So we come full circle with the quarians.  Either their eyes are fairly normal, using tapetum lucidum through evolution or BW will just screw up again (as they did with Shepard and Saren) and give them ridiculously glowing eyes.

Shepard would have been better had just his iris' glowed, not the pupils.

The quarian sun, although more orange, would still provide enough light for us humans to see.  The quarian eye would most likely follow the same pattern but, due to dimmer light overall, they 'might' be better at gathering what light was available.  Had Rannoch been a 'dark' world, one with exceptionally low lighting, then maybe they would not see at all but hear as bats do with echolocation.
Now, I do grant you that their range of 'seeable' frequencies could be larger but, blinding themselves to some makes no sense.  Also, neither prey nor predator would survive long if their eyes glowed.  The prey could not get away at night and the predator could not sneak up on dinner.  Now, there are exceptions to this but they are found in the sea and have other means of protection/feeding.

Giggity.

To the folks saying she looks like a corpse... what if she just has gray skin, similar to Chiana?

I don't know. I don't like it personally, but I can't always have what I want. If its more like that, more power to them.

Nice fan are. Wonderful face shape and everything, but the skin colour is a bit too dark imo.

I think it's fine....I'd actually prefer a darker skin tone as opposed to another pale one

Chiana has the advantage of being a lighter tone, not having visible vein structure, discernible iris/pupil and a more matte finish to her skin so she doesn't look as wet as a bloated waterlogged dead body. She still kinda has a gothy undead look though. Still not a fan of that look.

I'm not a huge fan of that concept. The structure's good- it matches up with what we've seen. But from an artistic viewpoint (and let's be clear, these are *all* highly designed species), it's kind of bleh. The unvaried sheet grey really flattens out her face, and the glowy marks are pretty ambiguous (electronics, bioluminescence, what is that?), don't really fit with the general design aesthetic they're employing in Mass Effect anyway. I could see this one taken a bit further to tighten it up and make it work, but as is, I don't think that'd suit a final look.

... I like it better after further examination, but still don't believe it'd be a good final look as is. =P

I always thought that Chiana looked really good. Although may be her quirky personality that adds to that. But I have always imagined quarians to have grey/silver skin anyway, so I am totally behind that concept. Although still more alien than Chiana.

*snip*

I say thats a reasonable concept, she does look human, though not perfectly human like the Asari and most tali fan concepts, the artist could learn a bit more from the Drell concept however
