The real issue is that BW has only given us VERY small bones to pick over. Without any meaningful information, all we can do is guess and use our own imaginations as to almost every single facet of quarian life.
I try to make what is given fit in the story properly but still, it just how I try to do it. Others user other means. No one is right or wrong. We just see it differently![]()
Now, if BW would get off their arses and give us meaningful info, alot of this guessing can end.
I think that's the charm of the ME universe. You don't know everything about all the races, there is room for races to be what you think they are.

Agreed, I truly think that even after the Shepard trilogy is over and done with the ME universe has the potential to be the next great sci-fi universe.

You forget this is EA we're dealing with. That means it has the potential to be run into the ground, or to be discarded when EA loses interest.priestess of blood wrote...

You're not the only one, that series was incredible though I guess I'm just a very optimistic person

What is your guys' imagination of that precious moment? Tell me! If it's by words or pictures, it doesn't matter!
*snip*
Something among those lines, only with a little more of Tali reassuring Shep that they'll take back Earth and destroy the Reapers.

Most guys do feel that way. Me personally I feel like trying to make Tali suddenly Bi after 2 games is ridiculous (the same goes for garrus) If they had been initially painted as those kinds of characters then fine but there comes a point where you cross the line from, "Oh a few homosexual relationships? Thats neat." to: "Holy f**k how many people want to have sex with me? And wait a second didn't this game used to have a story?" In my opinion They should leave such things alone. Don't try to change who characters are just to appeal to the sexually frustrated fans who just want to see some girl on girl action.
I'll be very disappointed with Bioware if Tali/Garrus turns out to be Bi in Mass Effect 3. Not everything needs to revolve around sex. And yes I do happen to be a straight male.
Meh, some characters I see it, others I do not. I cannot see (out of the ME1 crowd) Garrus or Ash as being Bi, but I can see Tali and Kaidan. Namely because of their reactions in the game.
Garrus just seems to much like a "buddy", there is nothing to indicate he may be remotely interested in guys.
Ash, I do not know, she just doesn't seem like she'd be into girls.
Kaidan, I just cannot speak to him on the Normandy in ME1 without expecting Shepard and him to pounce on one another, they give each other this look...
Tali is the one who most obviously seems like she could be. Her dialogue as well as her diary entries on her recruitment mission indicate strong feelings for Shepard, a lot stonger than any non-romance option has shown at least. They are basically the same as for male Shepards except you cannot initiate the relationship. She still says she wishes Shepard was around, she still says she'd be happy to link suits etc.
I do not want another DA2 where everybody suddenly feels like experimenting, but if some characters can convincingly be revealed to be Bi, then I don't think they shouldn't be just because some people will cry "fan service", but my god it better be done well.

Not that it matters to me, my primary FemShep will stay loyal to Liara regardless. I try to have a different romance in every playthrough, and Tali is reserved for my primary MaleShep.

It would be nice to see a game in the future based off the geth taking over Rannoch. BioWare has built such a vast, beautiful universe to play with, rich with stories, culture, and history. They basically cunstructed something just as good as Star Wars.priestess of blood wrote...

Even if Tali may seem to be like that the question comes to mind, She along with all other romance options were so open to sex in the first two games. Why didn't she make a move then if she felt that way? Personally I feel like no new romance options should be in Mass Effect 3 at all. We are talking about an all out war with a homocidal race that wants to destroy all life in the galaxy. Shepard has to focus on getting everyone to work together, ending potential conflicts and fighting a possibly unbeatable foe. Sex shouldn't even be on the plate. Mass Effect 3 should have just focused on story and strengthening bonds with characters that have already been put into place.
But of course no one seems to want a mass effect game that doesn't have some new romance option in it. I won't be going after any romance options in my two play throughs. I have one for Tali that is pure paragon, and another I'm working on with Liara that is more renegade. And those are my main two run throughs. (Both are male BTW) I just don't think Mass Effect should revolve so much around sex.
BTW- Glad we both agree no way in hell is Garrus gay. He comes off way to much as a bro to be like that.

Aside from that Turian society is modeled after the romans. :innocent:
In any case I don't see the problem. Options are good, and bioware has stated their intention to make romance entirely player initiated. So if you don't want to interact with garrus in that way, don't.
Won't hurt you at all.

Yeah, it's going to be interesting having squadmates where you already have an existing relationship with them from the beginning and you don't have to spend time "building it up". They can do a lot more with the romances that way.Someone With Mass wrote...
Judging by the script, the romance in ME3 is more of an actual romance than a buildup to sex.

And a lot more fleshing out the romance as well. I am actually looking forward to seeing how romances will go to the end, and how romances might go if you end it. So many possibilities with a romance carying over from a previous game.

Considering Garrus is only interested in femshep out of respect, and not out of ANY physical attraction for her as she is an entirely different species not even remotely similar to turian physique, the leap from straight to gay doesn't even remotely seem like a huge challenge and in any case we have no direct proof of anyone's complete sexuality, at least not unless somehow you got inside the head of any of these characters.

First off the thing about the turians being based after the romans is interresting. I hadn't heard that before. With that said, even if homosexuality is not seen as taboo in their society at all and is openly accepted that still doesn't mean that Garrus is like that. Or Tali. Or anyone for that matter. Have we just all come to the point where we assume all characters are gay unless otherwise stated?
I have no problem with having homosexual squadmates. I just don't like the idea of everyone on the flupping ship having that sort of attraction for me. Garrus is a bro. The fact that I go down to talk to him all the time and am annoyed that he is in the middle of some calibrations doesn't mean I want to have sex with him. It means he's a friend who I want to talk to. And to be honest I don't want some dialog tree popping up at the beginning of Mass Effect where Garrus flat out asks me if I am that into him. Because if that was real life, and a friend asked me that, I'm not gonna lie things would get awkward between us. We'd stop going on missions together and I'd stop popping in to check on him. You know cuz he's so busy with those calibrations.
But we are going off topic so...

is pushing HUMAN sexuality onto alien races. What is there to say that
turian and quarians even have same sex liasons within their own
communities? Just because humans have them? Not good enough. I'm not
saying same sex is wrong but an alien might be wired so differently that
it would be impossible for them.
Tali's reactions during her conversation about linking suits was more embarrassment than coming onto Shepard, no matter Shepards sex. That is all that was going on there.

Not gay nor straight. Bisexual.

Garrus doesn't even find attractive female Shepard. He accepts because she wants it.

Now this is funny.
What is okay: to push sex with humans onto alien races (well, 'heterosexual' sex).
Not okay: to push 'homosexual' sex with humans.

And back to the quarians being in suits on the Flotilla. I imagine that due to Shepard's reported arrival, that suits being worn in alien company would be compulsory. Tali asked them to prepare a clean team to meet them after all. And it seems that there are specific designated rooms where quarians don't where the suits as well. I doubt they gave Shepard and co a tour of that part of the ship.
