I sincerely hope that these were made before Tali's look for ME3 was finalized; it makes little to no sense to update the original cast's looks (VS, Liara, Garrus.) and not include Tali. It won't be game breaking, or something childish like that, but it will be another "Really Bioware? Really?" in a long line of such moments.

And Bovine, did they say that about Tali specifically? If so, I'd like to know where from.

Actually it makes perfect sense (quarian sense) that her outfit does not change.  It would be a waste of resources for her to change, seeing as her previous suit was fully functional.  :)

By that logic, her ME1 outfit was fully functional, but I understand what you're saying.

Like Unschuld said however, from a developer standpoint, it doesn't make much sense at all to keep it the same, and considering that I'm a A.I student majoring in Game Art and Design, I can vouch for that personally. Unless a character's look is iconic, there's always room for improvement; and even then we might still change things; take a look at Master Chief, or Spiderman, iconic looks that have been remade/updated with great effect. It makes little sense to restrict one character while the others get free new clothes to play with.

And I don't know if it would really be question of resources, considering quarians are the champions of getting what they need a little to no cost. (Strip mining planets, derelict ships, etc.) I think the only reason in the end would be that most quarians don't want to risk changing suits more than they have to.

But even then, Tali did alot more than just change clothes with my Sheperd, and all she got was a cold.

EDIT: I'm just going to add here; I would ultimately be fine with her ME2 outfit in ME3, if it got a texture overhaul. Look at Liara and Garrus, look at Ashley, characters that have been around just as long as Tali received a huge boost in ME3 regarding texture quality and poly count.

What we're seeing in these screens is Tali's ME2 model, not an updated version of her model, they quite literally pushed all of her data (Model, Texture, probabaly her rig, etc.) into ME3 and said "Perfect!"

I'll reserve judgment until the game comes out. Personally, they could paint her suit pink for all I care, as long as her character is still written well. :P

Frankly I was afraid they'll screw up her looks. So I am happy to know they are keeping that suit. And I am sure we can changer that in the final game. I am happy even if we can't.

Cool, Tali screenshots! The amount we've seen of her in promotional material for ME3 just multiplied several times over.

Oh, and here's another pic...

After the screenshots, my theory is that Tali's outfit is a major spoiler and they won't show it. There is no way they'd use the exact same outfit.

BW is increasingly sexualizing all female characters.

@Mauro; I think its just one of the first times her legs have been so.... Visible? I still stand firmly behind the fact that those new shots are with her ME2 model, they're identical, everything from the textures to bones of the model itself.

@Raven; does this mean we get a transparent suit for Tali? X3

Kinda sucks she didn't got new armor.

And I really doubt it's placeholder since ME3 is only 1 months away from being Gold and Bioware only removing bugs and finalizing music.

Only new they can possibly do now is DLC's post-launch.

She may start with the same outfit but it's likely there will be unlockable gear and DLC like in ME2. Besides, quarian suits seem pretty complex so if she had one that worked well against the collectors, why get rid of it? ^_^

Tali has some pretty rocking armour anyway. It was very popular, I imagine it may get a slight reskin or subtle colour changes. Besides, it is possible they don't want to release what all the characters look like for risk of spoilers.

Still worried about some of the characters though. And Mass Effect 3 is out this year now :s

I'm actually somewhat glad there isn't an update. There wasn't any reason to make her look any different. Her ME2 look was perfect. Ashley got changed because some thought she was too manish in ME1-ME2. Liara got an update to show how her life changed as she went on a mission of revenge, became the Shadow Broker, and so forth. Garrus became Batman. You get the idea. Tali just matured. That doesn't really require her to have some bright new look for ME3. I mean, that's just my opinion.

I'm with you there, even if it wouldn't hurt if she got something new, since everyone else did.

Or they could have different outfits in store for her in the game that they don't want to reveal at this time.

They have said that each character will have multiple outfits with different bonuses, after all.

I'm A-OK if her ME2 look is Tali's default appearance in ME3. Admittedly, I'd like to see a bit more detail put into the texture work, since the other squaddies got updates, but her ME2 outfit is a perfect blend of functionality and visual appeal (lovely patterned cloth <3), and she'd not have as much reason to change it as the other squadmates, like Garrus *finally* getting uncompromised armor, etc.

Curious what her armor swaps will end up being- I'm OK with at least one being something heavier since she's going to be under fire a lot if going groundside with Shep.

Also how many of you took tali on missions in ME2 even though you knew she wouldn't do to much good?

On my mainShep [in both games], I get Tali and Garrus as early as possible, and as soon as they're available they're taken on every mission. Where you need to take another squaddie [ex. Loyalty missions], Garrus gets the other spot in the team. But apart from that Tali goes everywhere with my mainShep.

Pretty much the same here for the most part (though I tend to swap out Garrus for other squadmates such as Grunt and Thane, plus missions where I'm dealing with a ton biotic enemies I do leave her out), but then again, I'm one of the few people who think that Tali is a better squadmate on Hardcore and higher difficulties (especially after she gets her bonus power Energy Drain).

What class do you [extending this question to the rest of the thread, too] tend to play most [/which do you prefer/which is your mainShep, whatever]? Do you find Tali's skills compliment your playstyle? If so, in what ways?

Happens with repeated Shepard pouncing. Builds muscle tone. B)
