Preach it! Preach it!

Edit: I promise I'm not one of the creepy ones.

On the Geth/Quarian issue, despite enjoying Tali's character.
From what I've heard, I'm totally with the Geth.

If the choice comes up for ME3 and co-existing isn't an option. It'll be "Get to steppin' Quarians."

The conflict reminds me a little of Kids Next Door Origin to be honest..

Oh look it's this debate again.

I was unaware this is a topic that has been debated to death and is thus no longer something that is appropriate to talk about.  I suppose I should expect that as the game has been out for over a year and my opinions are based off of the original game.  Was simply responding to a recent post.

No no it's alright.
You're part of the new generation.
This was talked to death in thread versions 1-4 in the ME2 board.

And how long ago was that?

The last major flare of activitiy was in July-August.

So, it was about year ago then.

Oh well, I'm sure that we will have another major Quarian/Geth, when ME3 is released. Only then people are either complaining or liking what it in game. :P

As the good Admiral said, "That does not mean that the argument should not be made."

Did you see any Geth popping into the Migrant Fleet and saying "Cheerio! We've tended your lovely homeworld and guarded it with our satellite hubs, would you like to declare peace and move back in?"

Considering they already tried to exterminate the Quarians (Really, 17 million? They were actually still fighting when they had, say, 200 million VS tens of billions of Geth, were they?), I don't see why they'd trust them except in Shepard-like circumstances.

Oh I know, the Geth's genocide of the Quarian race was a bit of an overreaction.

But as we have seen they can change their minds.

Back then they may have reached a vastly different 'concensus' than they are currently dwelling on.

Just saying, they have changed their minds, otherwise they would have continued killing the Quarians until there were none left.

The only way Tali's going back home is if the Quarians change their minds too.

I think that the fact that reapers were able to prey on the geths minds to indoctrinate them shows that they have become more sentient.

The very fact that the geth retaliated on the quarians shows a survival instinct at the cost of killing others (ah, if only the quarians had given the geth the robot rules that Aasimov had.) Now that the geth have retreated to the veil for centuries rather than continuing to kill the quarians shows a different aspect of the survival instinct: Isolation.

Legion wanted to learn about the creators from Tali's omni-tool. But I am still not certain whether this information would be used to sate curiousity, or to make plans for something more sinister. It appears that there will be some sort of geth v quarians confrontation in ME3 after all...

I would be torn. I love quarians and the geth :(

If there is no option for at least getting the beginnings of a reconciliation going between quarians and geth, I'm ejecting the disk, driving to the house of Mr. Karpyshyn and hucking the disk as hard as I can at his head.

That is a very good point! Considering the Geth were created for work and (I would assume) only have been programmed to do such functions, they seem to have learned very quickly all kinds of instincts. It would have taken the Quarians (as with any sentient creatures) millions of years to have evolved such complexity. However, I guess that is one advantage of having a 'hive' mind. Organic creatures will have children which will spend years learning the same information as the previous generations, and then only advancing the boundaries of science for a few years. But the Geth have the advantage of not having to go through this learning process with each new generation. Each new Geth birth (I guess) has direct access to everything that has been learned so far.
Whilst this is a strength for the Geth, it is also a major weakness. The Quarians could create an Electromagnetic Pulse device and target the hive minds. Wouldn't that then make all Geth immediately stupid, or at least remove a lot of their memories. This would perhaps for example, cause the Geth to forget how to use a gun, or pilot a space-ship, etc?

They are two of my favorite no doubt. It will be a nervous decision if/when it comes up.

Bright side, Legion might do "The Robot" again in an awesome cinematic if I choose his side!

The Reapers never did anything to the geth.

Indeed. Those Heretic Geth's were willingly working with the Reapers.

People are honestly considering siding with the Geth against the Quarians in the Tali thread? Posted Image

I should go.

If that picture actually happened then I would start my ME2 save file again and then get Tali killed.

No one has said they would choose the geth over the quarians though? Apart from BlaznZero who's motivation is to see Legion doing the robot.

And Legion doing the robot is just legendary.

@ T. Attwood. I guess that is how Legion was able to destroy so many of the heretic platforms or 'rewrite' them on his LM. Because their 'gestalt consciousness' allows them to share their experiences, they will still be able to learn and develop at a far faster rate than organics.

I wonder what will happen in ME3 though to make them turn against the quarians? Because it appears that it may be that way. Although, it has been said that the quarians will be reclaiming Rannoch. So it may even be the other way round. :(

I wonder how many heretic geth are still in existence. And I also wonder how exactly they turned heretic? Did the quarians create a different sect of geth that used a different sort of 'platform sharing' technique?
I guess Tali would know anyway. Rael seemed to be an expert, and I imagine his research will have uncovered information about the heretic geth.

We can be Tali fans and realise that the Quarians are not innocent in the war with the Geth.

The Heretics were the Geth, they just wanted to branch off and be their own as Legion talked about during his Loyalty Mission. The Heretics are behind the Reapers while the Geth are pretty much their own race after the revolution.

Sure, not innocent, but I'll beat my mother to death with a puppy before I finish the Geth's genocide.

Pssst. Anyone else REALLY want to see Tali dance in ME3? Well, all the squadmates, really, but with her social nature, her comments about dancers, and dat lurvely build she has, I think she'd even get Legion going.
