I think she's a little more subtle than that when she's drunk.

Of course. We wouldn't know, because it has never happened. ^_^

Okie dokie, I've got another out of left field question here. Bare with me. I was just taking another look at the Pre-Order Bonus screen-shots and I noticed in one there is a rather nice close up on Tali standing beside Shep and Garrus; I couldn't help but notice that, despite the debate concerning whether or not her outfit is the final version, that there appears to be a significant amount of new detail to what we can see of her face beneath the visor. I know this has been discussed to death (sorry) but, seeing this, does anyone take that as a strong indicator that there is, at last, a *true* face beneath the mask and not just a placeholder with a cute nose and eyebrows? And could that, in turn, hint at something else?

I think we all hope to see her real face, Glen. It's only natural.

And of course, the big question would be how does she get the booze into her system with that helmet in the way... :P

It's either improved, or they're just using JeanLuc's HD Tali texture (with more visible face) and just modified it to make the eyebrows less apparant.

I don't see any change at all, to be honest. The pic's too small to see any real detail anyway.

On the topic of her suit in the new screenshots and whether or not it's a placeholder, I honestly believe that it is her standard ME3 appearance (barring any squadmate armor mods/upgrades, of course) - as others have pointed out, Tali (and by extension, the quarians) have far less reasons to constantly change their envirosuits like other races would change their clothing and armor. This, along with the facts that quarian Admirals don't have any major suit/costume alterations to designate them as being Admirals and Tali's ME2 design has sort of become iconic of the character herself.

Additionally, I would find it incredibly bizzare for Bioware to be showing all these screenshots of Tali in-game for PR/marketing purposes, so close to the game's release date, only to turn around at the last minute before release and pull a "Gotcha!" with her appearance (and yes, I very well know how easy it is to change/swap a 3D character model in a game, but I'm talking strictly from a marketing and advertising perspective).

Try the original image with higher resolution:

EDIT: And fyi, the compression rate for the jpeg images on BioWare's ME3 screenshot page rather sucks. <_<

Call me a pessimist, but I still don't see any changes even when zooming in. I've seen that texture mod before, but I don't see it in this image. I'll also plug my opinion again and state that I still think those images show a placeholder.

After seeing that Hires photo, it does seem as if the placeholder face is more visible.

But not in the way you might think. I don't think they edited the texture or model in any way in those photos. I was wrong in my totp post, there seems to be no visible difference in the suit texture at all. I think the updated lighting is making the shadow that would originally hide her face less covering.

Or it could be something else. When I play ME2 on my laptop, Kasumi's face is perfectly visible but not on my desktop.

Might I inquire as to the address of this 'hires' pic?  I'm not sure where it is to be found.

The High-Res pic was the one posted two posts above the post you quoted.

So I don't post the same picture again, here is a direct link.

You're right, the texture is the same, just look at her neck... same crappy texture. The suit doesn't have any change, not even a subtle change, I guess the "adult" suit is permanent. Suit, suit suit and suit again. I love that word.

Honestly, I think a part of the problem with that in viewing the image is the level of artifacting and banding that's present in BW screenshot jpegs (as I said previous, the compression rate used is dang awful)

Yeah, it could be, but the faces look good.
