Isn't there a line where Tali says something cute (big surprise) and Shepard responds with something like: "I bet you say that to all the boys who get you a homeworld."

Ahah. I thought that might've been it, but never saw his scenes one way or another, wasn't sure. My female Shepard hitting on him just felt oddly forward, never took it further. Thanks for the clarification.

And not dissing on the Jacob romance with this, but I'm betting the way it's said in Tali's case ends up being written/portrayed better. Has a good, long buildup (2.5-3 games!), and perfect time for culmination. Timing is... well, not everything, but pretty important. *eagerly awaits March*

Shep's responding to her calling him a "sweet-talker". =P

Why? They were clusterf**ks of picture reposts and waifu morons whose contributions to the thread amounted to nothing more than an intensive spam of "dat ass" and variations of "oh my god tali is the best LI all other LIs suck i wish tali was real so i could lick her sweat and make quman babies tali is the bestest xoxoxo ^^ kawaii uguu hurr durr".

Nope.avi, what we have now is good. With a few notable exceptions. Which shall not be noted. Loudly.

EDIT: I may be confusing the 1000 page threads with the 5000 ones. If so, I apologize to anyone whom I may have offended.

*Spoiler*

If you didn't romance either Garrus or Tali, they end up together in ME3, similar to how both Vega and Ashley hook up if their not romanced either. So while it means Tali being snatched away, its still a Turian Quarian relationship, and one that I'd totally support, if Garrus wasn't my bro and Tali my LI. ;p

*Spoiler le end*

Id have Tali die before I saw her snatched by Garrus instead of Kal! At lest they could have litlle quarian babies and I could be uncle shepard. Guess I'll always have to romance her;)

That is very good news considering on one of my files I chose Ash and then later chose Tali, so which ever one I choose to leave in ME3 won't be entirely lonely and hopefully won't hate my guts and then die in some stupid cliche sacrifice.

To me, the idea of putting Tali and Garrus together seems like the developers just sticking the two dextros together and ignoring their characters. Mostly because of Garrus's somewhat flippant attitude towards relationships and her need for a really long term one and as a result of the inherent risks (especially with a species that could share the same viruses). Anyways they don't exactly seem to like/get along with each other (see ME2 conversation about her immune system). Though there is always the possibility that Tali's awesomeness convinced him to behave differently.

Go on, attack... by the way I am not saying that I dislike Garrus, just that the two do not seem to go together.

Exactly. that's what Kal is for if not shepard. I always felt that if anyone besides shep was gonna be with Tali it was gonna be Kal. no one else just seems to fit

I think it would be better if Kal and Tali were together compared to her and garrus, because they are both quarians. But I really don't like Kal, it's just something about him having that rough tough Marine attitude, but he's a quarian. It just doesn't fit to me.

Maybe ur shep is jelly that Tali is good friends with him?? When i first heard talk of Kal/Tali romance I wanted to kill him in my playthroughs just to make sure it didn't happen.

I think Tali/Garrus sorta works, with the "flirtatious" banter they have in the second game. Kal'Reegar also makes a bit of sense, but even with the discourse he had with Tali before and after the trial it seemed more like a professional attitude than flirtation. Not saying that it couldn't be interpreted a bit differently though, I just think if anything the hinting was less apparent.

The rough n' tough Marine attitude? What's wrong with that? With the amount of whining suit wetters the Quarians have already, they need that sort of thing. Besides, he's dextro-Jayne.

Nah, cause I already did her, and Kal didn't (on both files).  So I win there and he loses always.

I don't really have a problem with him in general, but it just doesn't fit  for a quarian. when I hear a quarian, I think of a soft suit wearing takes one hit and dies sort of deal.  And then here comes Gunny Kal talking like hes straight out of Full Metal Jacket.  It would be like a krogan who likes to knit sweaters for the elderly.  I guess every race has there oddballs though lol.

Charr the poet, yes?

To be on topic though, I would have to agree with Unschuld, they seem like they deal with each other in a really profesional way, so a relationship between them is really unlikely.  Nothing to worry about.

Well, I wouldn't say he's *quite* like our favorite gunny, lol. He would need to make a lot more references to sexual organs/alignment, racial commentary and issues of questionable parentage. I'd say he has just about the right amount of badassery. Meeting him for the first time was still a shock though, not what I was expecting. I agree with you on that, lol.

Oh yeah I forgot about that Charr guy, well damn. And yes kal isn't anywhere close to the best gunny ever haha. He's still a pretty cool dude though, not what I would expect in a quarian at all. Him and tali are the only two that I really like, in fact.

I think the fact that they're both "Dextro" has little to do with it; ever since ME1, they've been permanent squadmembers, fighting alongside each other and generally being around one another longer than any of the other characters. They even shared the lower level of the SR1, so it would be very easy for Bioware to write in dialogue (And hence, a relationship.) that the player never knew about.

While Kal is a good character (Although his Marine like personality seems incredibly out of place, which is why I think he should have been a human.) I honestly can see why Tali wouldn't be interested in him; he might just be too.... "Oorah," for her, while for the most part, Shepard has to play it cool, laid-back, empathetic and cheerful to successfully romance her.

And as for the banter in ME2 between Garrus and Tali, I thought it was obviously playful teasing, and not malicious.

Haha it's funny because my Shep is real nice and stuff during the romance scenes with tali but in any other time I am very "Oohrah".

Maybe. I can't say for sure what the devs will say the reasoning is, or if I was correct on how I viewed their relationship. This is just how things seemed to stand in my view. I just thought of the actual quote from ME1 and garrus does say sympathetic apology after the elevator chat, so you very well could be right.

The ME2 banter was more playful, especially compared to ME1 where he actually scolds Tali once or twice, then apologizes.

It would be ok for Tali and Garrus, considering that they were in it from the begining, but I already claimed Tali for myself. :)

On a completely unrelated side note, the steelers are now out of this NFL season.......:(

Ho-ly cow. Sorry to tremendously backtrack, but it just hit me like an anvil (resulting in me walking around the grocery store in a daze for a few minutes, no joke): when Shep. simply said "Keelah se'lai" after Tali's three magic words in  the spoiler quote I previously discussed, he was talking about *Earth* with that solemn oath, in addition to what they mean to each other; so much common ground they share. That is *incredibly* poignant. Seriously remarkable job by the writing staff (Patrick Weekes is my guess).
