I wonder if Ash's jealousy would flash up some racist undertones regarding Quarians in the same way that Jacob makes a racist remark about Turians if you get into conflict between he and Garrus as a FemShep.

What is THIS? :o

I knew I didn't like him for some reason.

Oh, I don't remember precisely but I believe Jacob calls Garrus "that Cuttlebone?" referring to his exoskeleton, which I assume is analogous to other dirty words racially.

To be fair, he's seriously pissed off at that moment and otherwise holding back his emotions really well, but it was kind of shocking for me to learn about.

This isn't the Jacob thread, also fyi.

I think Jacob's just jealous because Garrus has a personality.

It's not like it is unexpected for a cerberus guy to have racist tendencies. I dislike him cause of the AI comment after Tali recruitment. Either he is completely ignorant or very spiteful, in either case he just lost all respect.

I'm just saying, if any of the crew says anything racist about Tali out of spite in ME3, Shepard is about to acrue some goddamn renegade points if he can.

Thankfully, I actually like Kaidan so it's a nonfactor. As a tech/biotic Sentinel, he actually has this one nerdy chat about omni-tools or something with Tali in the leaked script that I liked. Tali and Kaidan aren't antagonistic with each other at all, and he has a lot of respect for Tali's engineering skills so I'm satisfied that I chose to save him and the STG team back in ME1.

Ashley can not show any trace of racism in ME3 or it could get exasterbated if her mindset shifts to "Every race for themselves" when the Reapers come, but it won't affect me at least, lol

Glad I wasn't the only one irritated by that comment, I haven't seen anyone bring it up before now. My first reaction was "Really, moron?"

But then again, like you said, he is Cerberus. :police:

EDIT: I loved that chat with Kaidan and Tali. It made me smile; can't get enough banter.

I just hope they'll keep the interaction between Tali and EDI in ME3, because I find it a little intriguing. Tali had plenty of talk with Legion, but pretty much none with EDI. It's untouched territory.

I'm still not sure what Jacob's intention was with that line. It's a really weirdly delivered line, it doesn't seem to have any traces of malice in it so up until now I've always given him the benefit of the doubt that he was just really ignorant about Tali's sensitivity to the subject of artificial intelligence.

I hope that we see Tali be initially abrasive with EDI as Quarians tend to be, but after character development during her character arc in ME3 have her accept EDI as an individual and even a friend.

Edit: Woops, forgot I was double posting there. Sorry, should have edited this comment in lol

I suppose; he doesn't seem like the type to seek out ways of making enemies; but his consistent behaviour around some of my favorite characters (Tali, Garrus, Thane.) kinda sealed his fate for me.

That, and I really don't see his appeal; its like Bioware tried to repeat Kaidan's appeal with a cool, suave, level-headed human with no traumatizing issues, and failed miserably.

And though it doesn't pop up very much; from what I've seen in the script, EDI and Tali actually appreciate eachother. No real sway either way (Love/Hate.) but they are friends.

I'm not ready to condemn any of the characters to disliking them just yet, those that I haven't liked the characterization of this far still have one more game to redeem themselves, at least.

TOTP Tali fanart!

As I said, ignorance is no excuse fire Jacob's behavior. Everybody in the galaxy knows about the geth, and everyone would realize that near extinction and 300 years of being a galactic whipping boy at the hands of AI would make it a poor topic.

Plus the delivery seems to carry a feigned sweetness that makes me wish for a renegade interrupt.

You could always just send Jacob to go escort the survivors back to the ship in ME2. No final battle heroics for him, holding the line or otherwise. A slap on the wrist to get the message across, so to speak lol

What does all of this have to do with Tali, though? This calls for a "BACK ON TOPIC, YOU BOSH'TETS."

So...

Back on topic, you bosh'tets!

But Mordin makes more sense as people need medical attention... Plus that escorting is somewhat heroic in of itself.

I said back on topic about Tali, dammit! lol

So I just saw a screenshot of Liara using a Revenant. Things might have changed, and we could be able to equip squadmates with different weapon loadouts than before after all! Before we thought Tali was retaining Heavy Pistol/Shotgun.

I want Tali to go full-on Shotgun/AR. Tali with a Mattock. It ought to happen.

Aw, we'd match. Lol, I was the same way; Mattock and a shotgun.

Now if only Shep could get a quarian outfit. Like Gillian....<3

Nope, not for my Shepard I don't think. It'd be kind of weird dressing up like a race that I'm not.

If we're throwing all logic out of the window, I would totally would want my Shepard to use the N7 Hoodie in combat.

But actually, I love the Dragon Armor suit from ME2, and I have a feeling I'm going to wear the new KoA armor DLC that will come from the cross-promotion demo. I hope Tali has something grey/blue to wear so she, Garrus and I will have the same armour schemes.

Any perfect ground-mission squad has matching armor, this is just a fact that is completely true in every way and cannot be disputed with any amount of logic because I said so.

They weren't perfect in other ways, like not being part of the Main Character's faction.

All perfect squads have matching armor. Not all people with matching armor are perfect squads.

So I have declared it, so it must be. And Tali will behold as I charge into people with spiked shoulderpads and be like "Well, at least I can summon my drone behind them to keep up with you..."

Also, Tali related: I have come to decide that as a Vanguard, Chiktikka is my brother in arms on the front-lines. My exploding, electrocuting brother in arms.

I can't help but think that I'm in a desert alone, cause I'm one of the few people who seems to like the engineer. I tried vanguard once, but got back to engineer a little after. Having Legion and Tali with me, I always deploy 3 combat drones. The enemies just pop out of their covers and it becomes a killing party for me! :D

Tali & my shep kinda match. Funny thing is though, when I made my sheps armor like it is I never intended to make a similar color schemed armor to Tali's. It just happened.. only noticed it recently..

My shep is also a Vanguard. So +1 to that

and I also use the Black/Purple color scheme on my Talimance Shepard (because I legitimately like purple; it was also a coincidence that we shared the same color scheme)

It's not that Kaidan didn't have traumatizing issues, it's that he's got a handle on them.  Jacob really has no issues.
