I think it happens either way. Should change a bit, though.

Hmm, was debating on saying anything about that scene, but since you posted part of it, here's the full scene for those that want to read it:

Oh, it's much longer than that.

I mentioned this earlier, but I hope it stays regardless; just that the reason for the scene is different. Like something in ME3 that happens no matter what, because I really want a drunk Tali.... Yes I just said it.
But if not.... Well I never really cared that much for Miranda....

Shepard: Aaah.

Tali: Don't "Ah" me! You sound like a vorcha.

Funny thing is that Mark Meer is doing voice acting for Vorcha.

I think those images of Tali are just a placeholder. They probably changed her to put her real face, and if it was leaked, anyone would be able to open the mesh with Autodesk and show her face to everyone. So, I guess they probably used the ME2 Tali even in the coming Demo to prevent more leaks. Or at least I hope.

Speaking of spoilers, I'm probably being retarded here, but is Tali fem LI in ME3? Do we know? Can't be bothered to look for the appropriate thread.

They haven't officially announced LIs yet, but seeing as how they said you'll be able to continue your ME2 LI, of course she will be romanceable in ME3. Very doubtful she'll go for females though.

Im guessing that line that says MISSING SHEPARD DIALOGUE is actually a variable. If she died in the Collector Base, the dialogue is the one above the missing line, and if she didnt, it diverges into the lines below the missing line at some point.

At least thats what I think.

God damn it. The main redeeming quality of DA2 was the LI thing. I suppose that ME3 won't need that, but still. Would be nice. :alien:

Ya know. Reading that snippet (again) still brings a smile but to be honest, I want to hear Tali say those lines. My mind just cannot do it justice. :(

Lol, that dialogue is great. Haven't read it further than "It's a straw Tali" to avoid spoilers. Better be in the game!

From the things that i've read, it sorta sounds like Tali (and Garrus as well) is only romancable in ME3 if you had started the romance back in ME2 (as I can't find any "new LI" dialogue for her as I've found for Liara or Ashley, plus the fact that she'll start up a relationship with Garrus in ME3 if she's not with you). So with that in mind, it doesn't look like Tali will be retconned into being either bi or gay in ME3 for FemSheps.

I don't think they wouldn't allow new players to romance Tali or Garrus.

My soldier shep is my talimance, so im liking the idea of them and garrus all packing revenants for ARs, or whatever new "machine gun" AR the give us... I like to go pure white armor with death mask on my shep, kinda a dual symbol as Tali's White Knight and the whole SW Stormtrooper "death comes for you" effect.

I'm doing a new engineer shep playthrough where shep changes from ash to Tali so i can see how they plays out, the soldier is loyal to tali only, wanted tali in ME1 but couldnt so didnt mance anyone in it, yay ME2 shep was estatic. And yeah i face palm everytime i recruit tali in ME2, i wanna knock jacob out....i've never heard the cuttlebone remark though oO....how do you get to hear that?

Something like this.

But enough about Jacob.

I think Tali is going to go so well with my Engineer in ME3, since her passive power decreases the cooldown of tech powers and increases the duration. If I add that to the Engineer's passive, which can do roughly the same things, I'm going to have one hell of a tech team.

Any my favorite comment from that video.

Jacob: What, the cuttlebone?
Joker:Uh Shepard? We've got an incoming message from an unknown contact.
Shepard: Patch them through.
Citadel turian: YOU HUMANS ARE ALL RACISTS!!

It's possible that the "New LI" dialogue for Tali/Garrus wasn't yet finished in the leaked script, but considering that we're getting at least 6-7 new LI in ME3 (Vega, the two S/S characters, another character that's sorta like the ME2 Kelly "pseudo-romance", and 3 "technically new" romances for Liara and both VSs if they were never romanced in ME1), plus the fact that the other ME2 LIs only get continuations of their ME2 romances (ie, you can't start something up with Miranda, Thane, etc, if you didn't start the romance in the last game), and it's seems probable (to me, anyway) that Tali's romance in ME3 will only occur if you had started the relationship back in ME2.

It would certainly make the "perfect time to jump into the series" statement even more false than it already is.

Alright, since we're arguing about spoilers so freely it seems...

The new romances are Vega who is bi, and two pseudo-romances, who are both strictly homsexual (the "Kelly-like" is one of those two.)

As for squadmates, there are 6 "Technically new" romances. There's Kaiden and Ashley, Vega, Liara, Garrus and Tali. There's whole slews of new romance dialog for Garrus and Tali, as much content for them as Liara and the VS, enough that it would be borderline insulting to lock them out from all playthroughs that haven't already romanced Tali.

They limited the number of squadmates in ME3 to give their players more content. They will not follow up sacrificing other ME2 squadmates to give Garrus and Tali more development by blocking off that development, it would be an insult to those whose fanbases just happened to get scorned by the writing gods.

Using Garrus/Tali as an excuse to block out a new romance with either is like using Vega/Ash as an excuse that you shouldn't get to start a new romance with her.

Every other squadmate in ME3 seems to have a pretty positive view on Tali as well.

Even Joker throws in a few lines.

Man, those quarian admirals are intimidating.

And if you get nervous, you can't even imagine them naked, because, like, who knows, it's a tentacle monster under there... What is that? What's under there?

-You know, the quarians have done pretty well with those suits. Maybe they could make something like that for you.

They have 'em. Protective medical exoskeleton. I could even get one with racing stripes.

-So what's the problem?

It's like walking around in heavy armor. Totally screws with my spatial awareness.

-I wear heavy armor, and my spatial awareness is perfect.

You crashed the last shuttle you flew, Vega.

I need to feel my balance shift when I'm flying. I need to feel the ship moving with me.

You take that away, and... I don't know. I mean, I'm good, but I'm not me.

-Yeah, I get that.

Plus, have you seen Tali? Come on, I don't have the hips to carry a suit like that.

I almost died reading this, probably laughed a lot harder than I should have. :P

But Diego brought up and interesting point; because of Bioware's recent string of leaks, I could see them being a little paranoid about something as big a secret as Tali's face. We've probably all seen those "Unmasking," videos online; someone who snagged her model and loaded it into Maya, just to show off that yummy low-poly placeholder.

So that's some hope I guess.:)

And to the picture in this page; I've always wondered about that. Maybe they have really small windshield wipers or something?

I can agree with that. It's certainly a double-edged sword.

On a related note, I always thought that with some of those "breakup dialogues" in ME2 it should have effected the dumped character's loyalty in some way. If finding out your dead father was in charge of something out of Lord of the Flies affects your state of mind, I can hardly see why getting dumped for a space rock-cat wouldn't.

Back to Skyrim... *runs out*
