I really need to stop coming here. It's terribly hard to resist highlighting all these dialogue spoilers.. :pinched:

The dialogue spoilers are what are keeping me going until March; I think without them I'd have gone mad from lack of info long ago.

You are very right.  Without the spoilers, I very well might have given up on ME3.
Now, all we need is more news of Tali!

I'm still so disappointed about her ME3 design, :\\ It's the one thing that gets me, it's so terribly lazy to port her model over from ME2, especially after Garrus (our other possibly dead companion) got a re-design at the same time.

You'll have other new outfits to pick from. They just kept that one as her default one. Love her default anyway so I'll probably end up sticking with it!

It makes sense Garrus would get a new outfit, his last one was a bit damaged.

They'll probably release more info on other outfits (or DLCs for them) later.

Speaking of spoilers, I'm probably being retarded here, but is Tali fem LI in ME3? Do we know? Can't be bothered to look for the appropriate thread.

They haven't officially announced LIs yet, but seeing as how they said you'll be able to continue your ME2 LI, of course she will be romanceable in ME3. Very doubtful she'll go for females though.

God damn it. The main redeeming quality of DA2 was the LI thing. I suppose that ME3 won't need that, but still. Would be nice. :alien:

Tali has no need to be bi.  Go back to your damn asari.

And why do I keep coming to this thread?  I almost never post and just keep almost reading spoilers.  -_-

1) Because Tali's awesome.

2) Give in to teh spoilers.

And I'm fairly convinced (Eternal optimist.) that the reason why we've only seen her ME2 model in ME3, is either out of Bioware's paranoia, or some other vaguely legit reason that has yet to be shown. Regardless of which one it is, I refuse to believe that Bioware would shaft a fan favorite character out of simple laziness, and so believe that she really does have an actual ME3 worthy outfit.

Maybe the ME2 outfit is exiled Tali only, whereas if she is not then other circumstances unfold and perhaps a new suit is something we might be surprised by?

Bioware is at most just trying to subvert our expectations, at worst they decided to stick with what worked.

And that's a problem?

As others have said in this thread (myself included), there are plenty of good reasons why Tali and the quarians in general would not need to be constantly changing out their suits like other characters would change clothes/armor (and we're still getting armor upgrades for squadmates, so it's not like there won't be options if you really just hate her ME2 design).

I love her ME2 design, I just wanted it to be something that was iconic to ME2 and have a brand new one in ME3.

I really don't know what kind of resources they put into alternate armors for our companions, except that Ashley has her unique "outfit," and then her armored appearance is just a retexture of an old armor model from previous games. If Bioware remains conservative in resources expended on alternate outfits, then nothing will probably stray too far from the various ME2 appearances that Tali had, whereas I was hoping we could see something with more WOW factor than that.

Besides, it's not like being in her ME2 outfit is a negative aspect, it's just less of a positive aspect then something new. Also, it's way too soon to say that there isn't something as new and awesome as I hoped, but the signs don't really point to yes.

TOTP Tali, also relevant in a way lol:

I've been wondering about that; do we know for certain if that means a visable change? Or just stats? In ME2, we obviously have different armor pieces for Shepard, but does that mean the same for squadmates in ME3?

I too, like her ME2 design, it was a nice improvement over her ME1 one for me personally, but I feel like, what with Bioware openly saying that they want ME3 to be a "New beginning," that everyone should look different, not just a few.

There's at least two combat outfits for Ashley to give us hope that the trend continues for other squadmates as well.

Hm, I suppose that's true. We have seen both Vega and Ash in Combat/Casual gear, so I can only imagine that everyone else go the same treatment. But then I remember the demos with Liara in her Lair outfit, and can't help but think that's also her casual, so I'm kinda conflicted.

And I love that picture, but could never find it that big, nice one. :)

I'm sure it will all be fine and enjoyable in the end.

I find it's best to just think positive about what we'll see in the final game and wait until it happens. Its better than the slew of complaints and general projected negativity that's so common here. I never understood why some find it's best to complain so far in advance. It makes much more sense to complain about something after the fact (even if it gets you nowhere) when you know something is amiss rather than before when you're not even sure it's fact and are just projecting wild assumptions. That's just annoying, not constructive..

Indeed, Unschuld. Indeed.

Tali's a perma-squadmate for ME3, that's more than I even expected honestly! I expected the Wrex treatment, so I'm more than happy.

But complaining is so much fun! :P

Nah, I understand what you're saying, but sometimes it helps; Bioware said that they started altering parts of the story when the script was leaked, as a response to fan reaction, and that they always have an ear to the forums, listening in on popular opinion.

So as long as the complaining is constructive, something good may come of it, though its obviously annoying when it happens too often.

Buuut, this thread's been off track a few times in the last few days hasn't it? I keep wanting to put it back, but can't think of anything new to add. :crying: We've covered so much in almost 500 pages.

Well how about I dig into the old bag of topics once discussed about Tali in old threads and see where it goes.

If you plan on your Shepard having one of those "settle down" endings for the end of their life with Tali, one of the most commonly discussed way for the couple to start a family is adoption.

If your Shepard was going to adopt a child with Tali, would you have them choose a Human or a Quarian?

At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I'd rather not have children. I'm kinda greedy/fickle, and like having all of my time to myself, and my significant other of course. ;)

But, if some time down the road, I decided raising one would be fun, it would most definately be a quarian; I've always liked the idea of my Shepard adopting another race's culture, and diving deeper into a galaxy that humanity's only been a part of for a few decades.

Which is why when that obnoxious Admiral Mikhailovic asked me what color my blood was, my first thought was, "Ha!"

Concerning the topic of whether of not Tali should be a LI for people new to the franchise, I feel that it seems to make sense that Tali would just end up with Garrus (or some random quarian, perhaps Kal'Reegar?). In ME2 (and ME1 if you talk with Liara about Tali during the LoTSB), Tali has a crush on Commander Shepard (male of course) regardless of who Shepard chose as their LI. It would seem kind of strange for James Vega (whom I think will be the protagonist if Shepard dies) to romance Tali so late in the war.

Also the talk about adopting a child with Tali kind of had me wonder if it would even be possible to bare a quarian/human child. Seems unlikely, but you never know.

Sorry, but the fact that their chirality are complete opposites not withstanding; interspecies children are nearly impossible for any race. There are just too many genetic variables that don't add up; even though apes and humans are near identical genetically, we can't breed. So there's no chance that we could do so with an alien.
I realize everyone here probably knew this, but I'm wordy, and saw a similar post like this somwhere else. :wizard:

But I think adoption alone is fine; the idea of a little quarian running around sounds kinda adorable. <3

Errr.... James Vega is the new soldier squadmate.

No game with Shepard dead is importable, for that save the series ends there at ME2 with Shepard's death. You have to go back and reload your game so that Shepard doesn't die at the end, or start a new game that ends with Shepard not dying, or start fresh with a no-import ME3 run.

And the war both begins and ends over the course of ME3, so it's not "late" in the war or something. If Shepard can realistically start a brand new relationship with either VS or Liara then I think he or she can do the same with Garrus or Tali.

I think it'd be funny if at first, Shepard and Tali tried to please each other, by Shepard wanting a Quarian child and Tali wanting a Human child.

Agree with Atemeus' last comment... Possible that Tali would want kids that resemble Shep in some way and would push for one (or more) human(s). A bunch of mixed kids could be interesting (why stop at two)!

If Shepard can start a "new romance" with Tali in ME3 (and again, everything I've read sorta points to the answer being "no", but that's just my interpretation on the leaked script), then obviously we're missing some sort of variable/s which determine whether or not Tali stays single enough for Shepard to woo her or she starts up a relationship with Garrus instead. Maybe it's a matter of Shepard's gender, when we acquire her in the game, or if Shepard's already in a relationship with another character?

I've also been debating on her new Bonus Power and how she (and other characters' BP) acquires it - in the last game, it was based on gaining her Loyality, but since that's already gained (at least, for the majority of Shepards) and individual character loyalty is not as big a central gameplay aspect in ME3 like it was in ME2, then how does she unlock it? Perhaps completing a character's "homeworld" missions in a way that favors his/her side (ie, for Tali that would mean destroying or making peace with the Geth) or perhaps there are other missions and assignments throughout the game that factor into a character unlocking his/her BP?
