Vanguard, you people. Nothing beats biotic charge followed by a shotgun to the face. Plus, if you focus on getting shotgun upgrades, it boosts Tali's damage too, so it's a win-win.

I'm going to do a shotgun Engineer playthrough instead, so I can benefit from her passive power even more.

And we can both use shotguns.

My canon Shepard (the same one that romanced Tali ^_^ ) is a Soldier, so that'll be the one that I roll out first - hopefully my Energy Drain bonus power from ME2 will transfer over so I can benefit from Tali's passive bonus, but if not, I'll have to see about getting another tech or combat BP that works well with the Soldier's gameplay (I can never chose a biotic power as a bonus, breaks the roleplaying aspect for a Soldier for me).

Tali's initial loadout in ME2 was SMG and shotgun, but I'd guess that they changed it because it would have made her only effective against shielded enemies and synthetic ones.

Um, Tali had the shotgun and pistol.  No useless SMG for her. :)

I think he means before release, the reason why her cutscene pistol of choice was an smg. Which was changed to heavy pistols later on to balance her against armor.

She had one in the trailer.

Yep, things change as development goes on. It's the same sad, sad thing that happened to Overpower on the Adept class. It was just too crazy to go into a mode where every power goes onto a separate cooldown, but they all remain at 3 seconds or 5 seconds or whatever they had before.

I really hope Tali is as versatile as possible for ME3: Energy Drain for direct attacks, Sabotage for stunning, and then Combat Drone, and Turrets.

Does everyone have 3 Powers + Bonus Power + their class tree, and we're seeing everything up front on the menus for ME3?

Or does each squadmate come with 4 Powers + their class tree, and the bonus power appears later, below those? Because I know the idea is that Tali might have a second drone-related power that's supposed to be her bonus, but I don't want that to take the place of possible Sabotage or Turret.

I think Tali has a power called Decoy. It creates small drones which hovers around the user and attacks any enemy that gets within a certain range to draw their fire.

She will probably won't have the Sentry Turret, since it's supposed to be the Engineer's exclusive class power.

Not to mention that one Sentry Turret is powerful enough to destroy an Atlas on its own.

But, but, I'm a Vanguard I don't get a Sentry Turret. :( I want as many buddies on the frontline fighting with me as possible, and that includes Flaming Turret in a Can.

Oh yes he did... Tali obviously agrees, since she decided the Phalanx was better to have around than the Locust...

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

(Also, we're only 9 pages from 500, guys and other genders! Woo!)

You'll have Nova by your side, if that's any comforting.

I think Tali's powers will be Sabotage, her passive power, Combat Drone, Energy Drain and Decoy.

Sounds balanced enough for a character that has the support role.

Whee, I've always been a Vanguard. I tried doing something else (Adept.) but ended up playing it the same way, just spamming singularity rather than charge. There was just something about being a Jedi with a shotgun that drew me in, and never let go. <3

The fact that my boosts helped Tali was plus. Speaking of which; even if party members can have different loadouts, I don't see why you would change Tali's; except maybe to use an assault rifle over an SMG.

EDIT: Oh! Mass reminded me; nova sounds fantastic, and such a powerful name.

Wondered who would comment on that.  :)

Useless to Tali as she is not proficient with them (in the released version of ME2)  :)

I could put all of these arguments about weapons that Tali wields to rest if I had that gif of her switching to the Cain.

Wait, there's sentry turrets now?

Not big problem.

Yeah, we were just talking about it. Ironically, it looks like Tali doesn't have a sentry turret, but she does have... Sabotage.

Tali sappin' my sentry!
