I'd like to see tali without the hood. Those visors go back pretty far past the forehead. Without that purple hood she would look very different. I take it the hood stands for hair, well thats what I always thought anyways.

As far as the hood goes, that's what many people think; it resembles hair. And many of those people believe that because it does, quarians have it; that they're trying to emulate something they have, but can't show for obvious reasons.

It also helps that the developers have said in the past that when designing Tali for ME2, they shortened her hood, and flared it out a little, to represent she was becoming more mature. They likened it to hair as well.
A young, naive girl with long, plain hair, becomes a stronger woman, with a shorter, more playful hairstyle. :wizard:

We just wanna know what the hell she looks like, lol. No placeholders, Bioware.

Personally I think that, since Tali's placeholder face made her look how she does in previous games, they have decided to show her face which would make her look different through her visor. I guess Bioware are just worried people might notice that she looks different through her visor and come to the conclusion that she'll take her mask off in ME3.

Or that her outfit will constitute spoilers in some other way. I can't think of any other reason other than that Bioware is trolling :crying: Or maybe they're saving the best 'till last. :police:

I've really got to stop looking at pics like Legion's Oath. I love Tali
and the pic was beautiful but seeing her dead made me sad for hours[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie]

It was almost as bad as the time I stumbled upon the "Loved and Lost" video in the TFZ.

If they do have hair (which it would only make sense for them to have it), then chances are if she does remove her helmet at any point in the game it would only be slightly more hair than what Jack had. For simple practicality. Also since we are kind of on the topic of appearance. I would also put my money on large pupils and dark irises. This is because (any artists out there know this) those are the two most light reflective parts possible on the body (lighter irises do not reflect light as well). This is a hypothesis that I have failed to find on here and I am not really sure why. Yeah, its not even half as exotic as glowing eyes, but it makes a whole lot more sense... To me at least.

Who knows, maybe her helmet has space in the back for some longer hair that we can't say because of the hood.

I don't know. It just seems representative of hair (I think that I stole this idea from someone else) That they want for people to see it like that. In a way similar to the Salarian chest pieces. So that while they do not have hair that can be seen or perhaps of any length at all, they want for people to see, perhaps, a glimpse of what they used to look like prior to being forced into suited life.

They took their inspiration for Tali's appearance based on the fanart where Tali has been horrendously gene-spliced with a cartoon pony, the one which someone with the name of an octopus god will likely post here right after I complete this.

He's currently banned, even though his 24 hours are up (seriously, what's up with that?). Luckily, The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young is here to fill in for him (although a little late, admittedly).

How is it that you're not banned and he is? It's like opposite-land. Never understood why they ban you guys so often anyway.

Bioware: If you're listening, DO NOT show Tali's appearance until the game comes out. Keep it a surprise!

I actually don't know if there is anything more to talk about that hasn't been covered 20 times already, with or without trolls. So to solve this we will likely be talking about one of those topics that have dodged their ways in and out of this forum since it started. This is certainly not a bad thing, since there are always new people and new ideas, but still, some more info would be nice. Then again pretty much any conversation that I have been involved in had to have been a repeat, this must be rough on veterans, who have seen everything many times over.

So why not be the fire starter...  Why do you think that Tali even bothered with letting Legion live until Shepard got there?

Do note that I use the term "live" loosely.

The way I see it Shepard is the captain on the ship and aboard the Normandy he has the final word. And quarians probably don't disrespect their captains very often no matter what their relationship is professional or other.

That. Is. A-dorable.

And meh? He's banned? What for? How is he banned but Saphra isn't?

@BatmanPWNS: I've been wanting that as an Alternate Appearence for ages! I think its the best take on a Quarian Soldier outfit I've seen yet.

People are often as nasty to me as I am to them, often nastier. Plus they also like to spam, where-as I don't.

Now as for why Tali didn't shoot Legion I think as the other guy said she was respecting her captain. Not a good idea to execute another member of the crew without the Captain's approval.

Quarians probably hold ship captains in high regard, more so than any other species. Due to ship life. Pretty sure if shepard walked in and ordered tali to kill legion, well we already know how that would end. But what has always bugged me is if you paragon tali willingly gives legion non-classified data to send back to the Geth. why? Legion stated it would send the data it had obtained.

The data Tali give is data Legion can just get from the extra-net, meaning it is harmless. She does it as a gesture of peace and good will.

Ok. Topic fail. But I do have a question. The Quarians were a race with an established military. The geth were being used basically as slave labor at the time of their rebellion. How in the heck could the machines do it? If their processing ability increases with numbers, it would seem that at least Quarian colonies would still be held, but they are not. Is there any fleshed out information about this progression, or just speculation? If the latter, then I would love to hear what you guys think happened. If the former, then tell the fool to google it.

In much the same way we use our cars as "slave labor" yes.

As for how the geth could do it, easy: they were integrated into every facet of society. Labor, security, military, ect...

There were a lot of them too and they were all linked together.

Just be refusing to do what they were designed to do the geth would cause a shut down of quarian society, resulting in chaos.

From there it is easy to gain the advantage.

It really isn't as fleshed out as we would have liked, so any answer would be pure speculation.

That being sad, they probably were not a very militaristic society pre-morning war. They were around during the times of the racni and the krogan rebellions without any mention of them participating in either conflict. They were also around a council species for a very long time so they probably lacked a sizable military as it seems to be a requirement for membership. Probably have to also consider that they may have used the geth in a defensive capacity like humans are fond of using mechs.

This is all just speculation but the Geth were probably at the core of quarian society by this time. Schools, offices, hospitals, military bases even. Think I,Robot with the NS-4s. When the termination order went out, most Geth would've been like 'whoa, does not compute, fools' and defended themselves. Given that Geth likely have superior strength and durability, many quarians were probably killed by the Geth they were trying to deactivate, which would have been a huge blow to the quarians right off the bat considering how wide spread they were.

Also, the Geth are machines, meaning they are the very definition of efficiency allowing them to quickly build weapons, vehicles and ships once they were established. Finally, the ability to quickly replenish themselves and even design and build new Geth models to cope with the different battlefields of the war make the Geth naturals at wars of attrition.

In short, the Geth had a lot going for them.
