Hmmm.

*Wonders what he is aluding to as I havn't read the spoilers*

@Nashiktal The hate everyone has for Quarians is understandable. Doesn't make it right. Even after the homeworld is retaken it will be a long long time until the Quarians are treated equally once again.

true, but that's like being justified in hating on a German because their great granduncle was a ****. That's like a black guy hating on a random white guy because white people enslaved his race years ago. An individual isn't an amalgam of all the atrocities (and only the atrocities, because nobody gives a damn about the good things people do) a particular race has committed. That's like punishing you for a crime your father committed.

At the end of the day, racism is bigotry. If I apply for a job and I get denied, I want the reason to be because I wasn't qualified or because someone was more qualified than I was, not because I'm hispanic. Not because I'm diabetic. Not because I'm a man. If they have negative opinions of me because I am those things, fine, they have the freedom to do so. But when my livelihood is on the line, it's a different story.

Keep that in mind when a quarian steals your identify and uses your money and your name to take out bad loans and your credit is ruined.

then I get pissed with the individual, not the entire species.

I'm also not saying that if I'm starving all bets are off. Just petty thefts are excusable in my eyes given that situation.

I think you are hanging far too much on the geth conflict, the problem with quarians is nowhere near limited to just the creation of the geth.

When the flotilla enters a habited system what do you think happens? First it takes weeks to months to get all of their ships through the relay making travel back and forth between the relay impossible for anyone else, which halts all business outside the system, heavily disrupting the economy and trapping people in the system. (This is both when they enter and leave the relay.) So even if they don't do anything else, the simple act of travelling creates incidents no one can do anything about short of attacking the quarians. (which no one will do for a variety of reasons)

Then once in the system the quarians will get to work stripmining any resources they can get their hands on, despite the fact these resources do not belong to them, and if they don't harvest the resources themselves the quarians hire themselves off for cheap to companies putting the local workforce out of the jobs for at least as long as the flotilla sticks around. (once again disrupting the economy.)

Quarians are bad news for any habited system they enter.

when you're dealing with crime to that degree, it's different. If she steals my food or my tires, I'll let it slide. If she steals my identity and all my money and incriminates me, that's on a whole different league...

which could've been avoided if the Council didn't threaten to nuke the quarians when they asked to settle on a new planet....because the volus wanted it.......and then they didn't even use it.

Uh no.

The quarians have been doing this for quite some time, long before the ekuna incident. The council isn't blameless (the council that did that should have their heads checked), but I think you are being far too sympathetic to the quarians.

Its not a black and white issue.

Edit: and your information is wrong. Ekuna was given to the elcor, not the volus. AND they did use it. Current population is around 221256200.

ah...sorry for the misinformation, I probably got confused with something else.

anyway, I understand it's not a black and white issue. The point still stands that racism isn't excusable. If they want to get pissy that's fine, but they shouldn't restrict people from contributing to society.

Also keep in mind that an employer may want somebody who is stable and will stay with them for a long time. Most quarians you hire are on pilgrimage which means they usually won't stick around that long.

God I learned that the hard way. Had a job interview a few years back.

"Where do you see yourself in 3 years time?"

"..university".

That interview ended quickly.

Yeah most places hate dealing with high turnover rates. Fast food industry for example, has a problem dealing with constantly shifting employee's. The more stable you are, the more it helps your chances.

Not that all quarians have to deal with that, veetor seemed to be doing alright out with colony work. Albeit we have no information about his time out there.

Highly dependant on the type of job and the employer. There are plenty of businesses (especially around here) that seaonally hire loads of migrant/foreign workers to temporarily boost their workforce during the warmer months.

Also, I've replied to that question with "...in med school," before and was hired on the spot. Not saying it works every time though. ;)

Yes , when the Flotilla travels its hard for any system. They even clog up the mass relay they are using to get all the ships through and I could imagine the annoyance that races feel when they find out "dem quarians be comin". But if I were a quarian or even in the type of situation they have to live with, than you do what has to be done to keep your people moving. The people that complain atleast have a world to call home.

Your job is to poop me out some eggs for my omlet, and then satisfy my hunger for breast meat when it comes around dinnertime so that I might have sustenance.

There's something about you, chicken. Something a bit... off. I can't think of the words to describe it, but something ellusive, maybe even unstable or untrustworthy, or like something oscillating side to side if you're into metaphors..

I can't put my finger on it, though.

Took a while for me to go off from my usual Miri-Ash pairings to do a Tali playthrough but I don't regret it. She is just too cute and innocent not to romance. I like how they made her admire Shep in the first and then see it develop further in ME2 with being with him again, like a schoolgirl crush with a happy ending.

Can't wait to meet Admiral Tali in ME3.

I demand an easter egg available after the end of ME3. A theatre you can find on Earth, which you can take Tali to, that plays "Fleet and Flotilla." That and a full length "Scientist Salarian." :D

After ME2 I bet she's at least an expert on seamen so maybe she'll actually be fit for the job.

I think Commander Shepard would approve.
