Yeah if that was a option at that moment the amount of D'AWWW would have melted my face. I did however get the fuzzy's after talking to kasumi. : ) "she loves you shepard. Be good to her."XenoAlbedo wrote...
There should have been another paragon hug option right there.Olvaha wrote...
THat line was surely cute..
But my favourite/most dramatic one was
''I've watched you for so long, but I never Imagined you'd ever see past.. this (points at her mask).''
After that I had this huge D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW- moment. Wish there had been an conversation option ''YESH! YESH!''

I don't want Tali to look like a half-dissected frog. ffs why is everyone so opposed to making her look attractive?
They want her to be a good character (i.e. personality, character in general, consistent), not just an over-sexualised "object." I know BioWare's stance on defending the over-sexualisation of characters as an artistic licence. For the most part, they seem to be going for "I'm beautiful, like a moviestar" rather than "I'm just someone who's appealing."
Personally, I'm not against them making her "attractive." However, "attractive," much like almost everything else discussed in this thread, is subjective. What I find attractive might not be what others find attractive. For example, I do quite like the picture above, but I do know people who are not overly partial to it. Likewise, their idea of what she should look like: being practically human, having a full head of dark hair that almost goes to her waist when she takes her helmet off (that's some compression right there), eyebrows, eyelashes, and as pale as an albino isn't what I would consider alien.
I don't think anyone is particularly adverse to making her attractive. I think the term is just subjective.
Just don't want tentacles growing out of her nose is all.
Alien =/= unnatractive
Bioware has already shown they can do both. I don't want quarians to end up like the asari. They way the asari are, they might as well be completely human wearing a wig. I also just don't want her turned into a blatant sex object, I prefer the current (relatively) subtle sexual overtones with tali. If she pulls off her mask and she ends up a human with a facefull of makeup and flowing hair I am going to facepalm so hard.

I somewhat agree with this. This is how I've grown to know Tali but I am curious to see what she actually was intended to look like.sitesunseen wrote...
Its getting to the point that I would rather she not be revealed at all. Its not that I think bioware would make a goof or over sexualize her its just I love the character for what she is now, not for what she may be. I'm content with those illuminated eyes.

I honestly do not think Bioware could let me down. They have done such a great job with every other Alien race, and art in General. It's their character. I think they will do a great job.

When arguing gender roles and politics in mass effect w female friends (this happens a lot surprisingly) they bring up the asari who, despite the background bioware put into them, are essentially a fan service race. Let face it, they're blue skinned human women with funny heads who dont really age, have perfect bodies, can have sex with anybody and anything, and only get bigger boobs when they become matriarchs. I counter this with tali. I'm not really into the whole romance thing in ME, but she's still one of my favorite characters and squadmates. In the tali thread i dont need to explain why she's awesome. Plus, she's managed to attract a crazy fanbase without being overly sexualized.
but i'm going to be dissapointed if they turn her into just another fappable blue/purple/grey space elf. If bioware does what they should do and make her alien looking; how many talimancers will still like her if she's not a sexy, different colored human with funny ears/hair?

Who said anything about not making tali sexy? Garrus is sexy, thus your argument is invalid.

Gee I hope so. I haven't seen her recently in any vids or screens so I'm hoping they're working on a new outfit for her.
It's pretty much standard industry protocol that in any video game sequel they "need" to change something in the appearance of established characters between games. For game developers it's like a giant red button that you're told not to touch. The chances of them not changing her appearance, even just slightly, is very low. It's still a possibility that she won't change, albeit very slim from my point of view (even if her ME2 look was just fine as is). 99% sure any ME3 images we've seen are just placeholders because Bioware is playing dirty. As they should.
As for what's under the helmet... I've essentially beat this to death so many times that it's nothing but red mist and grease stains on the floor. I'll plug it again anyway though; I'd be happy with just about anything Bioware decided to do, unless it was ridiculously weird like the image above. I see that scenario as highly unlikely due to the placeholder face/lore descriptions, and the way Shepard smiles in the culmination of the ME2 romance arc (unless he's just really kinky). Bloated corpse Tali on the previous page would kinda gross me out, but that's a personal problem. If they didn't show the face at all I'd think of it as a cop-out, but I can't see myself having an aneurysm over it.
