Nah, Saphra can be very opinionated, and often has very different views compared to the general concensus (the "negativity"), but he does add interesting food for thought at times. This isn't a universal "praise Tali" thread after all.

If you fully appreciate Tali as a three-dimensional character then you'll be able to see her bad side.

Worshipping the ground she walks on and praising her ceaselessly isn't something to be proud of.

I like the Illusive Man as a character, but I can criticize him too.

Tali has good traits. She generally means well, but as I've pointed out she has some negative tendencies too.

Doesn't everyone have a bad side? It makes them more realistic as a character. As for Tali, most of her traits are good. So I like her. And I don't think Tali is selfish. Specially compired to most of the other characters. Btw, who is your favorite character or characters?

As cute as Tali is, I find her opinion on the geth pretty offensive, so I'm excited to see how I can make Tali happy (I don't like seeing her sad =/) while also helping the geth out in ME3. Tali and Legion's little moment (with a Paragon outcome) in ME2 gives me hope.

Objectivity is a good thing.  Tali has faults, same as anyone else and they're worth noting.

FTL travel wouldn't be quite as instantaneous as shown in the game, would have plenty of spare time to watch a vid or two in the cabin.

Only if it's the sequel vid, "Fleet and Flotilla 2: The Human Connection". 


EDIT: Also, am I the only one kinda annoyed that with all the cool new videos and info that was released today, there is STILL no mention or shot of Tali anywhere? <_<

At this point I've realized that we won't be getting any Tali info until release, although we do get to see the quarians duking it out with the geth.

I popped into say I love the bio for Rannoch on the ME3 site. I love that they stuck with the Geth cleaning up the planet and restoring it from the end of the war. can't wait to see what they do with the quarian/Geth storyline.

Someone has to play the villain and me talking about Tali's good traits is a little redundant because that's mostly all anybody talks about anyway.

I can see the truth in that. I do think the character's positive traits outweigh the few negatives that you usually mention, however. I think what most people here see when you post is that you're just another person who hates the character out of spite, rather than legitimate reasons.

The negative traits are there to flesh out and balance the character, not to make her bad. As saphra mentioned tali is a three dimensional character because of her negative traits, NOT in spite of.
