It is off putting, as well as irresponsible.mechstone wrote...

It is very "human" though, to put love and lust over rationality. So it's an opportunity for both characters to show weakness (and strength in Tali's case), if nothing else.
One good thing for people who are put off is that
1. Rejecting sex in the ME2 romance scene does not end the romance
2. There's some indication that you may be able to start a new romance in ME3, which might be less sex-focused.

Her immune system adapts to Shepard... trust me, she won't get ill from being with him after a while.mechstone wrote...

I won't go into spoilers, but there is a resolution about Tali's immune system in regards to intimacy with Shepard in ME3.
It isn't a spoiler really, she clearly says it in Me2 as well: "We get sick at first and then we adapt."
I don't feel bad about it because she would get sick with a quarian just the same.

I would hope so. Would make the romance look more reasonable.HellBovine wrote...

However, I have to wonder why all the fuss in the romance that it's interspecies if the risk is essentially the same if Shepard was a quarian.

The risk would probably be different. There would be no risk of contracting any diseases as any human bacteria or virus' wouldn't be able to affect her. She would still run the risk of an allergic reaction but the extent of any effects is unknowable ahead of time (which is where the risk lies). Also she would get sick from a quarian's personal bacterial flora as well.Collider wrote...

In that case, it would have been nice to know that in the romance itself, because it's important.HellBovine wrote...

As it is, the romance gives the impression that it's especially dangerous for a quarian to be with another species (at least those that aren't dextro).

She kind of does explains it when she tells Shepard about her getting a fever from suit repairs after her Loyalty Mission. It's a dialogue choice option though, so you have to press for more information.

That gives me a space elf vibe. I actually like some of the official concepts. I just hope Bioware resists the urge to troll us again. This is supposed to be the end of the trilogy, they should tie up the loose ends.

There's a page in the "Art of Mass Effect Universe" on designing the quarians, which had some concepts for Tali's face:JustAFerret wrote...
Wait, what official concepts?

However, it's most likely early, early ME1 concept art (that's what it looks like to me, anyway) and doesn't reflect what her face will look like in ME3.
