There is an option to avoid this, which is not to get pissed off and just accept whatever face they decide to slap on the Quarians. Sure, there are some concepts that I think are terrible and I don't want to see, but raging about it won't help you or the game. Especially after everything is said and done.

However, it's most likely early, early ME1 concept art (that's what it looks like to me, anyway) and doesn't reflect what her face will look like in ME3.

Shepard being in love with a quarian is pretty taboo due to her race being discriminated against. There's also the whole Amino-acid thing. Just to name off a few.

They act as if there's more health risks.

The problem for them is they can't really know just how risky it is or isn't. It would be pretty rare for quarians to date anyone outside of species due to societal issues, and even if they did they usually just go the "stimulator" route which causes a lack of information in the field. Also each individual's immune system is different so there really is no way to guess what the reaction would be like (unless Mordin came up with some sort of test )

For the eaten fool: maybe set up a deviantart account or use something along the lines of photobucket?

There is also the thing that shep could get sick too though shep never says anything its still possible. Cerberus daily had an article out about a shot one could take inorder to eat dexro and versa foods put you'd have to purge after or you'd get sick so it implies shep would get sick by being with Tali as well.

There is also no need for them to bring up the taboo issue they already know about it. Not only does the galaxy at large not like Quarians but the Quarians also have history that gives them a bias towards humans on top of that there lives on the flotilla don't leave room for relationships that don't produce children so sheps got it double taboo on their end.

I would be very surprised to go to the flotilla with an shep who romanced Tali and have Rann + the board + any npcs take their relationship well. I think Rann bare minimum should be shocked that Tali didn't end this flig once she got promoted or left his ship. Maybe the player in time can get her to warm up to them with actions but her just being, " Oh how lovely for you two" doesn't match up with their lives till this point. Shep being a specter that can give them protection and a voice on the citadel may not be enough to outweigh the negatives they would perceive for the whole.

While Shepard may only bring up the health issues, the social stigma is still htere.

Got my book in yesterday finally after preordering it in november and I'm loving every page. Personally I really like the fifth face concept, I know the placeholder designates that she has a nose, but i'm quite fond of this concept because it reminds me of the kaminoians from star wars. Also DAT CREST

You all make good points, though the final verdict on how dangerous quarian-quarian sex is versus inter-species sex seems supposition at best. It would be nice if someone could ask Weekes to clarify.

There are quite a few lines in ME3 regarding the social stigma of interspecies quarian relationships.
Here's a fun one:

During a quarian related mission (it appears), Tali says something about being Shepard's dirty little secret.

That's a relief. I was worried that romances weren't going to be regarded much outside the ship.

But if it's only for an exiled Tali, then that sucks for me.

Wouldn't really mind this except the ears.

that would be awesome if tali looks like this. I think 3 games into it with people wanting to see how she looks and especially with her being a romance option, if they make her goofy/weird or overly alien looking i would be greatly dissappointed.
