True enough about the skin, I guess that's something to rule out.

But I'm not talking about references from ME2 when I talk about Rannoch. I'm talking about the news rush when the gaming magazine information zerg happened, it was there that Rannoch was said to be a desert planet.

Well thats a fair point, but it would be..unfortunate for Tali to be a furry. Through her mask you can see glowing eyes and a "human" nose, and of course a very... human shaped head. Therefore i can't think of her being a cat creature but more of a blend between asari (without tentacle heads) and dark elves. As far as the Egyptian theory goes i know they originate from a desert planet with pyramids and you can see the ancient texts they wrote in Kasumi:Stolen memories quest. They didn't write hieroglyphics but more of a chineese text ( I think). Im a big fan of Tali'Zorah vas Normandy nar Rayya and i hope you can continue her romance in ME3

I'd be fine with a cat-elf hybrid but I've seen enough of the quarians to know they aren't part-feline. We see the basic shape of their faces. They look human.

Sorry guys, no whiskers, no cat-nose, no turian mandibles.

Wrong. The max we know about Quarians is that they have ears, noses, eyes and lips. Everything else is speculation.

No, we're able to see the shape of Tali's profile rather clearly during her loyalty mission and the basic silhouette looks humanoid.

Plus, the skeletons during the N7 mission with the crashed quarian scout ship, although that would be far less binding.

Yuck, I agree. No Hybrids. For me I would perfer something with a slightly distinct alien tough but with some human features as well. In my opinion I think that her face will look generally human based on what we can kind of make out through the mask.

I still get goose bumps when I hear that line delivered.
Anyways I hope they show us her face and more (and I just mean neck, skin, etc. calm down you pervs :bandit:). Even if it doesn't match the vision in my own mind I don't care. I'd rather know.

Because Tali's face placeholder looks like this

And

That did not happen. I say she looks close to human.

Also, @ the totp, Tali's suit looks a lot more sturdier and tougher than what the other quarians wear. Perhaps because she has finished her pilgramage, but is still on missions outside of the flotilla?

Hmm, that would make sense. After we do know that Tali were on lot of missions outside the flotilla. Freedom's progress and then Haestrom. And it looks like Tali (and her team) were specifically choose for that mission. So, because of this it would make sense that Tali's new suit would be made of some harder material or there are some added defence layers. Of course Tali was only leader of some sort of engineer or science team like on Haestrom, so she was never meant to be in front line fight and that's why she never needed more protected suits, like Quarian Marines have. But it's likely that those missions were still dangerous and more harder or protected suit would indeed be useful.

After all Tali's suit does resembles more of Quarian Marine's suit than let's say Admiral Raan, Xen or Lia Va'el's suits. So, it does seems that Tali's suit is different and more protected and that way unique.

Of course it could be just BW way to make Tali's character to differ from other Quarians, but I like to believe there were some better and logical reason behind it.

Hey guys, BioWare is doing a "Do you want to see Tali's face" poll on Facebook. It looks like they are trying to figure out what to do. I suggest we all go and vote.
It is on the Mass Effect 2 page I believe and please don't be stupid in the comments.
;)

Of course she isn't a furry. That feline Egyptian thing originates from Earth, not the Quarian home-world. They probably only learned what cats are through humans.

And if they're from a desert like planet then I'd imagine their skin would be thick or even tough, kinda like a snake...kinda. Their Aliens use your imagination.

Arid does not mean their planet is hot, it simply means that it has little rainfall. So who really knows, Rannoch could have any temperatures ranging from those of an Antarctic tundra to the Sahara. Considering what we know I would surmise something along the lines of African savannah, which is coincidentally basically where our species evolved.

Well I'm not surprised. So far they had had a lot of difficulties to decide how Tali should look like or should or should not they even show her face at all. Now if this poll is popular enough, it could help them solve one of their  problems: Should they show Tali's face or not.

Now if they are convinced that majority of people/fans wants to see Tali's face, they can completely concentrate to final problem, how should she look like. And the sooner they does that the more time they have to make that decision and then finalize Tali's look.

Actually we have done in depth analysis of what little of the Quarian faces we have seen, supplemented by the little information we get from the books.

Sure all of our info could change if Bioware goes against the face template and whatnot, but until then its not like we are blind to what Quarians look like.

We know Quarians have a vaguely human face. Their faces (cheekbones in particular) are far more angular than humans, their eyes are also closer together than humans. The eyes are also wide, but much more narrow than the average human. Their ears are non-existant.

Then we have to account for the Geth. Geth are designed after the Quarian body much like humans do with robots today. Geth are a spitting image of a helmetted Quarian, from number of fingers, to toes, to the angular head, to the light that serves as their eye.

As such, not accounting for how the Geth might have changed their body, Geth can serve as a template of sorts for the Quarian body, if not their face.

They may have some traits that are similar to reptiles (we don't know, so they could), but as far as we know they are not reptilian, Quarian females have breasts, that means they have mammary glands (or equivalent)...

If a creature has mammaries, then it's a mammal, regardless of whether it has scales (e.g. armadillo) or lays eggs (e.g. platypuses)...

Also, if i remember correctly, Quarians are said to have evolved from Rannoch equivalent of higher primates (or something like that) in the books...

^ This. It basically sums up most of what we know of Quarians.

The only thing that always made me wonder is that the Geth are obviously modeled after male quarians, but they have THREE toes instead of two...

That could mean male quarians have three toes too but the third remains close to the foot and, unlike the other two, doesn't need form fitting boots isolating it for balance (kind of like our five toes inside our shoes), and as such we don't see it in through the suit...

It would also mean male Quarians have their third toe in the inside of their feet (like our big toes), unlike females that have it on the outside... Otherwise Geth toe disposition wouldn't made sense: when you make a humanoid robot you usually make it similar to your body (one uses what one knows), if we made human like robots we certainly wouldn't reverse their feet so that the toe is outside...

Agreed. Quarians and humans underwent convergent evolution as far as we know... That only happens when two races develop in phisically separate environments that have remarkably similar living conditions and natural hazards...
So yeah, more savannas, deserts, tundras, prairies, shrublands and steppes (the last three may be the reason for "Walled Garden", no?), fewer thick woodlands and forests, little to no marshes and rain forests...
That's my opinion anyway... :P
