It's nice to see that the Talilove is ongoing, even after all these years. I haven't been on these forums since the first(and second) Talimancer threads back on 2010.

I remember those so well. It's amazing that it's been two years since ME2 and over four years since ME1.

I know, right? It's almost just as hard to believe that ME3 is around the corner, and the trilogy will come to a close.

Something tells me that we'll have to choose between the Quarians and the Geth in Mass Effect 3. I bet whoever you don't choose will end up dying or something. Bioware LOVES to put difficult choices in their games.

There might be on option to help them reconcile, it seems to be hinted at in ME2.

You know what they also love? Allowing the player to take a third option (or a fourth, or fifth), depending on how you play your cards. Granted, that also means you have to play what cards you have, which may simply not work based on past decisions Shepard has made. They've already laid ground for quarians and geth to cooperate in ME2- Tali and Legion working together (and even becoming friendly- unheard of), Legion's dialogue on Tali's loyalty mission. Really doubt they'd doff the peace/cooperation option once presented, unless a given Shepard's actions muck it up.

**SPOILERS**highlight to read**

You can choose at the end of the "Quarian/Geth conflict" missions to side with either the Quarians or the Geth, but... if you were able to do certain actions in ME2 and ME3... you'll be able to then persuade them into having peace between the races.

How did she all the sudden ended up being a admiral of the migrant fleet? Will we get the explanation of how did my crews had gone their own ways?

I think it would be interesting if we learned that the Reapers were a Geth-style event where their original creators were faced with the same choice the Quarian's had. IThe entire Quarian - Geth story may be meant to be a reflection in some fashion on how the Reapers came to be.

I way I think it happend is that long ago a race perposely chose to turn themselves into the first reaper to escape some kind of disaster and then turned around and decided it was in peoples best intress to forcibly reaperify them, but that a bit off topic.

so on topic, any care to speculate why we've heard nothing about tali in me3 and the games only 2 weeks from launch?

She's in screenshots.
As far as I know, she's retaining her ME2 look, much like the other ME2 squad mates.

Indeed. To talk about Tali's role in the story is to talk about the entire bloody geth/quarian war.

That said. Did anyone else notice how between ME1 and ME2 her viewpoint on the Geth softened somewhat?

Exclude the loyalty conflict a minute. In ME1 she was pretty unabashedly hating the Geth. In ME2 she was more concerned really for the future of the Quarians and saw the Geth as an obstacle in that.

That, and if you did take the paragon/renegade resolution, she did take a different tone with Legion, starting to see his particular viewpoint.

It's less that she hated the geth than it is that she felt inclined to defend her people's actions against them, something I think most quarians would do regardless of how "soft" their stance on them was. Add to that the fact that the geth were a primary antagonist at the time and it's easy to see her as unreasonably against them, when she really just shares the quarians' basic antagonism toward them. Even in ME2 she'll occasionally make a remark about blowing up a lot of geth in memory of her father and some such, but ME2 presents a more neutral stance on the geth and it provides both Tali and the player with an opportunity to re-evaluate their perception of it.

plus it has been 2 year and in that time Tali seemed to have grow alot emoitionly, so it not to much of a strech to assume that her opinion would have changed as well

So, is anyone else disappointed that they didn't update Tali's look?

It was a good development. It keeps characters from growing stereotypical.

Garrus did that as well in ME2 which I personally liked, as did Liara, especially in Shadow Broker. I think it's these cross game developments that always get me hooked.

Saving the universe? Kay that's cool.

Seeing how your crew deals with the chaos and the stress? Ooo~ lets get the popcorn!

So, is anyone else disappointed that they didn't update Tali's look?

I'm not. Makes sense to me given how limited Quarian resources are.

I still think that there will be some new stuff to her looks, at the very least new alternate armors. In answer to your question though, no, I wouldn't be disappointed if she retained her ME2 design. It looked pretty good.

*Why mess with a good formula? I only wish they had kept Garrus' ME2 design as well.

Tali became more pragmatic in the years between ME1 and ME2. Its not surprising some of her views would change.

I am. I really liked her alternate armoured suit that you got from one of the alt skin dlcs. I was hoping they might change to something akin to that since... you know, total galactic war and stuff

I thought I would've been slighty disappointed with her unchanged look but oddly i'm not. I guess i'm so use to it now that it isn't really that big of a deal. I did like her alt dlc a little more tho...so if they happen to add that armoring on her chest to her classic purple I wouldn't complain. ;p

The AA suit for her was ok but it imo it just doesn't touch her default appearance. The visor was too cloudy and you couldn't really see her eyes during conversation, not to mention the hud on a hud. But her loyal colors are the best. dem golden belts! : )
