Wait, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but... if you don't romance Tali in me2 then she gets into a relationship with Garrus in me3? thats just what it sounded like from some of the comments I've read

It was actually pretty balanced content wise, because the mission on Rannoch with Tali integrates positive interaction in regards to her romance with Shepard better than the others.

Maybe. Bioware pretty much set out to have the VS and Liara romances as the "trilogy-spanning" romances in the game. As far as content goes... well there's a certain four-letter word that Shepard says to all the other LIs except for Tali, which is a glaring omission if you ask me.

There's totally a scene where the L word-bomb gets dropped in regards to Tali. I swear to god, I read it. I need some sleep, do not make me go pour over the Clan Zorah spoiler thread for 14 hours to try and see if I'm imaging that. It was during the Quarian/Geth storyline, I think.

Tali says it, but Shepard doesn't say it back to her. Instead he says, Keelah se'lai.

I'm fairly certain at least some recruits will be delayed. Tali was supposed to be possible to recruit early in ME2 as well, however due to having to split the game onto 2 disks for Xbox360, that was scrapped.

There is going to be either some plot availability divide, or 360 users may have to deal with swapping disks often.

Amentis, don't worry. I can confirm that for you. It's there.

Its funny cause putting her in your squad-early is completely bug free.

If you didn't romance her or Garrus, she does get with him.

Apparently so. Well, provided you aren't playing as FemShep and romacing Garrus either, of course.

Most romances don't actually have much romantic development until the second half, actually.

Each of the old romances has their own kind of "I know it's been a while, but are you still interested? I know you've got person X now." but then the script goes sort of all business and your basic squadmate stuff until half-way through, when the galactic consequences sh*t really starts hitting the fan.

Non Tali-Spoiler:
Funny, a lot of people don't mention Liara going off to write her memoirs with the Prothy "My travels with the doctor" or whatever if you didn't romance her. I always thought there were some similar err... implications there.

Not any worse than Garrus and Tali in my book. They shouldn't be pairing squadmates off, because then it makes you feel like you're not choosing the LI the writers "wanted" you to choose, because the ones that don't find someone for themselves are the ones you "ought" to have gone with for the most amount of content.

I have no problem with it as long as it's not shoved in my face.

I have no idea at all. It's not like there's one romance that I find superior to all of the other M.Shep options in the series.

But if I had to flip a coin or something to make a decision, maybe it'd be Tali.

I feel like a tali and garrus relationship would be kinda awkward, since Garrus is pretty renegade in his decisions and Tali paragon. There would be a lot of arguing, in my opinion.

But this does:
If you don't persuade the prothean to be nicer to Liara, he kills himself.

I would say Tali is either neutral or "paragade."

In ME1, she sat in the middle of the paragon/renegade scale.

I wouldn't be so sure. Let's just say that Prothy's pretty much a douchebag to Liara at first. They do resolve their differences later.

After the defeat of the reapers, he has nothing to live for unless Liara gives him a reason.

She was neutral in ME1, but seems pretty paragon since then. Although not pure paragon, of course. Garrus I've always thought of as neutral, as most of his personal missions seem to revolve around pushing him one way or the other morality-wise.

Really. Huh. I like Liara, so I suppose this isn't really much of a problem for me, but it's still dumb.

She was neutral in ME1, but seems pretty paragon since then.

IMO, withholding evidence from the trial is not "paragon."
Her insistence on destroying the heretics rather than giving them the benefit of the doubt is another example of some renegade tendencies. Or pulling a gun on legion. Etc.

Either way, yes, I'd say she's not pure paragon at all.

No, that's not why he does it:
If you are a Paragon towards him, the Prothean starts to see the value of living a life beyond one solely devoted to killing the Reapers. If you don't or are a Renegade towards him (which is his original personality), then he sees his life as only being good for destroying the Reapers and nothing else, so at some point he takes Shepard to a place where he prepares to die.
