Indeed. Characters like Grunt and Samara were pretty superfluous and unecessary.Ravensword wrote...

I've always thought of Garrus as Paragade because he does renegade ish things sometimes but for the good of others.
For the sake of consistency it's best not to simply see everything on the upper side as paragon and everything on the lower side as renegade. It's the major choices that truly shape the 'morality' and for those renegade = helping the galaxy in a renegade manner.
I personally loathe the 'paragade' and 'renegon' lables simply because the people seem who use these labels have a habit of labeling any sympathetic renegade character as paragade or renegon as if to say it's impossible for a renegade character to be a 'good guy'.It differes depending on some choices but I would categorize Mr. Garrus as either Paragade or Renegon.

Also I did not hate any of the characters until... I did not have enough Paragon/Renegade points to settle the Jack Miranda conflict. I then heard the "If you want to chat, why don't you go talk to your friend Jack." line WAY too many times, despite scrounging around for the points that I thought would settle the issue. So I wasn't that mad when, after Joker tells you that all survivors are on board, I got a nice snippet of Collectors strolling alongside a dead Miranda. That said it was better when that problem did not happen, and the matter was settled then and there. I do not hate the character, i just cannot really get over the scarring of how incredibly **** she came across when I wanted to fix things.
I wonder if the writers had Tali behave in a similar way if you choose Legion's side? That would make me sad.

They made it way too easy, IMHO. If I had my way it would have been just as easy for Shep/squad to die as it is to get "No-one Left Behind" in the actual game. This is of course, just about impossible without having random deaths, otherwise people would just look up guides on how to get safely through like they do now anyways. Scripted deaths kinda suck too, but if it's done well I don't mind.

You have the wrong idea about this site entirely. Tropes are celebrations about recurring themes and idea's within various mediums.
What you are reffering to are cliche's, which TV tropes barely touches on......
Eh, perhaps my delivery was off. The site is fine, tropes are fine, what annoys me are the people who link to that site when they're complaining that something they saw is a trope/cliche and therefore "it's stupid and awful" and "has been done before, so it's bad".

Well, Tali is justified in that she has just a little bit more to be bitter about than something petty like someone refusing to admit if an experiment was a mistake or not. There's actual, Quarian lives on the line in her eyes.

Yeah, they would be. But at the same time, awesome. The way I would envision it would be that the game would use the same type of mathmatical formula as the last stand, but instead of just equating loyalty/strength it also tallies up completed missions/quests. If the numbers are off, random squaddie goes pop. Makes the effort seem more along the lines of the team building that the game tries to convey, since the "disloyal" person in a team isn't necessarily the one that pays the price.
Scripted deaths are just easier to ensure continuity and lessen workload for sequels.
13 days now... wow. Uh, I hate to say this but at this point I'm not in a ME mood. I don't even know if I'm going to have my copy transferred for midnight pickup anymore, let alone finish my canon ME2 game within two week's time. Tali might just have to wait a while.

THAT would have made things interesting. Also I have been doing a femshep run in ME1 for as much completion as possible, and I totally understand what you are saying, it needs a rest for a while. But still ME3 is not either of the installations prior. It is its own thing with good from both drawn into it.

Miranda was untactful, but her comment was not unprovoked, considering she was "attacked" and mocked by Jack.

Investigate--
Beat Jack with chair--
Beat Miranda with chair--
Beat both of them with chair--
You lose their loyalty but know that there will be no more cat fights on your ship, and know that you just got a hefty sum of Renegade points

I can excuse Jack's behaviour, because she'd just had to recall the childhood where she'd been tortured and abused, but not Miranda's. Even though I usually resolve the situation peacefully, I deliberately sided with Jack in my current playthrough because of how much Miranda bugged me in that scene.
The Tali/Legion fight is a lot more rational on both sides.
I've honestly never been able to resolve that one amiably, and both of the characters make my blood boil in that scene. They're both interesting characters in the game, but in real life neither one has a personality I'd associate with, especially when blowing up after asking them to calm down/cease their irrational behavior. I've never had a problem resolving the Tali/Legion thing with the blue option, strangely, since I tend to do it later in game where my Para/Rena score average should be much lower and closer to neutral.

However, this does not relate to Tali unlike the comparison between the validity of the two arguements. Unfortunately, I do not have a good on topic conversation starter. Oh well. I am sure some one else will come along.

Hard to say - I've heard that the long-range rockets aren't that accurate or fast-firing (at least, on the Turret they weren't), so increasing the damage of the drone's short-range shock attack (which also gives a stun effect) and giving it a chain-lightning effect might prove to be better evolutions than giving it long-range rockets.Atemeus wrote...
