I thought you were the ninja, Cthulhu. :P

Also got a little laugh out of this exchange between Tali and EDI:

Tali: The Reapers have done the same to most intelligent species they've encountered. Humans, batarians, turians, and even krogan have been modified into Reaper foot soldiers. But not quarians.

EDI: No. The Reapers have not encountered your people in significant numbers.

Tali: You don't think it's because of our weakened immune systems?

EDI: No.

Tali: Huh. I just assumed we weren't useful.

EDI: Quarians are intelligent, adaptable, and technically adept. You would make excellent Reaper soldiers.

Tali: Thanks, EDI... I think.

*looks at how every post on the page is about Javik*

I think the two character threads I frequently post in seem to be merging into one.

Edit: Oh, now it looks like the thread is getting back on track. Yes, I remember seeing that EDI dialogue before. I quite liked it.

Soon every thread on the BSN will revolve around him. Which wouldn't be such a bad thing, really.

I guess they had to keep some of the LI's completely straight.

Every love interest being bisexual is such a stupid concept only someone from the BSN could possibly advocate the idea.

Good for Tali that she has an actual sexual orientation and isn't just an object there to fulfill every player fantasy. Not that she's immune to that, obviously.

They all should be, after all, this is about options and a Li is a Li. I think that people don't want to share or they are grossed about it, at least is the impression they are giving. After all MaleShep and FemShep live in two different universes. And all the romances are fanservice so that is not an excuse.

Kaidan is a confirmed bi Li, and his explanation is so simple and yet makes a lot of sense, so is not absurd or weird, nor stupid.

Eh, the characters shepard interacts with should be universal. I'll leave it to Bioware to decide which characters they feel fit the description of bisexual but I'd hope they'd only choose ones they feel fit the character.

I believe they should stay true to their characters. Given that though, I definitely support options for all sexualities.

They are not universal, every Shep is different, and for that reason we can change their ideals or motivations.
I don't know how do you think that bisexuality fits with a character, do you know any bisexual in real life?

Shepard isn't universal. The characters are supposed to be. The game makes no logical sense otherwise.

Does it matter? I'm talking from a writers perspective. When you write a character, do you believe you just throw traits on them and say "there! Done!". No, it's much like the old artist saying: "I didn't make a painting, I took away everything that wasn't the painting".

The same principle can be applied to a character. It's why people can make claims that it's "out of character". The difference is, I'm not going to try and say what is out of character for who. I leave that to Bioware. I just would hope they would treat their characters like real characters and take their original designs into account. That is all.

Like Tali's romance?

We don't know the characters motivations, desires, and they never say I like men, women or goats... So yes it's up to the writers, but comments like "I doesn't fit the character" are BS.

Once again, I am not saying what does and doesn't fit the character. I'd rather you not put words in my textboxes, please and thank you.

I'm only hoping that Bioware does take into account their original character designs rather than just adding sexuality flags to every character and saying "There! Done!".

I don't care if Tali is Bi. Or screws goats. It's irrelevent to me or my playthroughs. If Bioware says it's part of her character, then it is. I didn't write the character and therefore have no reason to say otherwise.

No point whining about it at this point, Tali's writer made a choice and the game is gold. No amount of complaint or argument will change that now.

Yea, you would think that now that the game is finished people would realize it is senseless to continue advocating changes to the game.

As much as I dislike these debates, I will say one thing. Only some of the new characters should be bi. None of the old ones should. They weren't before so why suddenly change? Plus it doesn't fit them at all.

I didn't say you said it. :pinched:

I see your point, I understand it, and maybe support it. But in romances, no... all of the players should be able to experience their favourite character trough a romance, it doesn't affect someone else game, and you could still be friends with them like if the romance was never created.

"...rather than just adding sexuality flags to every character and saying "There! Done!".  I don't want that either, its lame writing.

They managed quite well with Kaidan, they could do it with everyone.

I wouldn't agree with that per say. We have no idea if the older ones would be or not. Only their writers would know.

Idealy, I would wish they had just asked the character writers individually if they felt it fit their character. And if they said yes, implement it. Which ones are and which ones arent doesn't matter to me.

I just can't help but agree with Saphra (and you) that it is illogical for all of them to be.

Whether it fits them or not is not, however, for us to decide.

Indeed. The issue is closed; Tali is straight. You may think this was the right choice, the wrong choice, or you may not care, but there's really no point in arguing about it now.
