I HATE the fact that whenever the subject of whether or not the Quarians should be revealed comes up all anyone talks about is Tali, Tali Tali. I like Tali but ME2 and the books added many other interesting Quarian characters. What about their reveals? what about any potential new Quarian characters?

No, no. Obviously all Quarians in the universe revolve around Tali's face.  No other race seems to have this problem, even the bloody Drell, and we've only met three of them.

see, this is similar to how I feel about it. I do want quarians to be
revealed. I think it is silly to have an entire species that is a
mystery. (We should see what volus look like too)

However I don't want Tali revealed. Show me any quarian but her.

I have to disagree. Showing the Quarians without revealing Tali's face would be a bad move (and I mean a really bad move) on Biowares part.

some people argue that it would make some of the people who want to see her face disappointed. okay. if you don't show it, would they not all be disappointed?
as for other arguments, I see no value in them either. I (so this doesn't go for everyone) don't have the same level of connection to any of the other quarians so I don't really give a crap what they look like. I want to see her face, none of the others.

No. A lot of people would prefer it this way. Go read some of the other Tali's Face debates.

I want to see what the species looks like for curiosity's sake. Same reason I want to see female turians, drell, and batarians.

It's one thing to show a species, and another to show an individual. I mean An example would be showing Anderson and extrapolating that that's what default male Shepard looks like. That might be a stony example given how other species seem to make a point about human diversity but the logic still stands. The argument regarding "I want her to be my Tali, not what they think she is" doesn't make sense to me either. If that were the case then you may as well just create any generic character, people like Tali as a result of what work BW put into her, same as any other character. Mystery and intrigue are nice but do become tiresome eventually or worse labelled as lazy. I trust BW with their rendition of Tali. Personally I think they'll try to make her beautiful as it would fit to be honest, face it the quarians aren't exactly an unattractive species, it stands that they wouldn't want to discard this image. I also agree with the idea about using mostly human features but with slight modifications. The uncanny valley can be a cruel beast, even the slightest change can alter somebody's perception greatly. Keep the similarities sensible and all will be fine, already proven by their physique.

Being creative isn't about making some wacky alien that nobody has thought of before, that's way too easy. You have to create a full scenario, give reasons why an alien is the way it is. In the right conditions there's no reason an alien can't look similar to a human, things aren't as random as they appear. Mutations remain in the genes because they were largely successful (not always the case of course). A similar situation could give rise to similar solutions, though yes small details would likely vary greatly.

If you made a creature that looks nothing at all like a human, it would be almost impossible to pick up on emotions and body-language, which is rather central to our understanding of other people. Just look at the bloody Elcor, without their little mood-indications before what they say, you would have no idea if they were screaming at you or trying to seduce you!

In terms of appearance, I think that the more alien an alien race looks then the more creativity it shows. Of course, the quarian race have so much imagination in their lore and culture. Ad body language can still be expressed if a species looks alien, for example, the turians express this with their mandibles, and the geth use 'dem headflaps.'

Perhaps I should have specified by saying ''humanoid'' then.
