Agreed. I will reserve judgement as I am truly, and highly suspicious that Bioware would be douche enough for the endings to be as sobby as people are saying. But If I do everything right, I ****ing damn well expect to get a nice cheesy ending I want..
Hahah, I mean I hate when people are like
''sad endings are really cool and deep hurr durr''
I mean, many movies and **** end like that, and I want to forge my own friggin' happy story in this trilogy. That's what I've expected. I don't expect to have everyone alive and **** but I better get my house on rannoch scene..
I really hope this is like some old leak or smthing that they've changed or soemthing.. I guess I'll find out myself, since I don't wanna spoil myself before the game comes out. Heh..
Well, I don't really mind sad endings in linear games, movies, or whatever. It's a story and even if I don't like the ending there usually is never an illusion that things will work out. That's acceptable.
But these are choice based games. To not be able to
choose whether to live or die, or to choose to have a happily ever after (in exchange for some other tragedy) tends to be a pretty big no-no to me in these kind of games.
I'm a big fan of the DA:O scenario, for example, where you could sacrifice someone in your place. That's an acceptable compromise to me in a choice based game. Sure, the ending is still bittersweet (especially if you liked that character!) but you still have a lot of things to be happy about usually.
I think it would be interesting if they really are tracking the strength of your relationships with other characters to use that more progressively. Have the player make a choice that determines (perhaps even unexpectedly) whether or not your second most favored character (with either your best bro or LI being first) sacrifices themselves to get that bittersweet but still extra happy ending.
Course it's rather irrelevent at this point
