The problem with having that in-game option to see, or not see, her face will come back to the social bugs. As I said before, people will take pictures and screen shots and put them all over the net. The only way to NOT see that face is steer clear of everything Mass Effect or even Bioware.

The one true gray area I've spotted so far is just seeing another Quarians face other then Tali's. It gives use the basics but yet our imagination will take that and fill in the gaps with what we want her to look like; just like what we're doing now. Speculation. We see basic facial features through the looking glass, sorta speak, in ME2.

just sounds like people dont want 'their' vision of Tali ruined. she has a defined face. and..why exactly would people posting it online be an issue if it is in game? eh. whatever. need sleep...

"Will we show Tali's face in #ME3? We locked down our approach long ago, but you'll have to wait until March to find out what it is."

It would be an emotional scene, of that I have no doubt.

What kind of emotion seeing Tali's face will evoke would depend on the circumstances and her expression.
For example, if Tali's looks sad when we first see her face because the Migrant Fleet has just been destoyed or something, then of course the scene will be hard to watch.

On the other hand, if our first look at Tali's face shows her smiling with tears of joy after seeing the Quarians finally return to Rannoch, then there's not a whole lot that could make me feel anything but happy at that moment.

It will be ridiculous considering the big reveal has already happened for Shepard. Showing her face now will come across as clumsy no matter what they do.

I picked up the original Mass Effect out of curiosity...and got sucked into a whole new epic IP. To the point where I bought Mass Effect 2 midway through my playthrough.

Was in the process of romancing Ashley (inadvertently...I was enjoying dialogue) but when I found out that Tali would be an LI for Mass Effect 2, Chief Williams met a premature death on Virmire XD

Tali has appealed to me in both games. Whether or not I see her face (if revealed) in Mass Effect 3, she will remain my absolute favorite female fictional character.

I suppose I'm neutral in the reveal/don't reveal face debate...she'll remain a female 'ideal' regardless.

If the face IS revealed in ME3, I just don't want a Shepard that romanced her in the 2nd game to look too surprised. He's seen it already, in the best way possible.

If Tali shows her face to anyone else, those are the people who should be surprised! Though I doubt she'll do a 'public' mask removal...seems contrary to her nature/what she said.

Props to combination of Bioware artists, writers and Sroka who brought such an amazing character to life.

I'm glade they've decided to go ahead and show her face! I'd hate to go round 2 and not see her face sense there will be a love scene for her and shep.

i don't think they have decided yet if they are or not, but the majority of people do want to see her face (for any number of reasons) at least from what i can tell from public polls and forums.

This is terrible news. I may have to kill her now. In protest.

First Ashley, now Tali. My oh my, I'm going to be busy.

Nobody worth saving in this galaxy now... I going 100% pro-Reaper now.

They are being as ambiguous as ever. Hudson hasn't actually confirmed anything. He could just as easily be saying "we've decided that we're not going to do a reveal, but we don't want people to rage before the game is even released."

Or he could be saying "Yep, we've decided that it's high time that we reveal what quarians actually look like, but we're keeping it under wraps because we don't want people to rage."

I'm now temepted to make a special note of this post and check back after release.

While you're at it, be sure to quote me, too.

And to be honest, I won't be disappointed either way.

I understand that fans are probably going to rage either way;

--If they make her too human in appearance, people will rage.
--If they make her too alien in appearance, people will rage.
--If they make her somewhere in the middle of alien and human, people will rage.
--If they reveal her face, people will rage.
--If they don't reveal her face, people will rage.

It really is a no-win situation.

v---------------------------------v Quote below this line v---------------------------------v

I do lean more towards the "yes" side of it, however, and as I said, I won't be disappointed.

The big reveal has happened for Shepard alone, not for you nor anybody else in the game.  If a reveal were staged at an important moment such as those posted above then it wouldn't matter if Shepard has seen her face or not.  It's about what Tali feels, not Shepard.  If the moment is special for her, then it is special for her fans.  Your points are just nonsensical, personally I wouldn't call the ME2 moment perfect by a long shot.  A mystery is good if eventually solved, why are the Sherlock Holmes/Marple stories enjoyable?  Not because there is some seemingly impossible crime, but because they were solved in a clever way.  The same can easily be said for Tali and the quarian race as a whole too.

I just wish BioWare would just have some balls to do what they want to do, instead of trying to appease every fan. People are going to complain no matter what happens with Tali's face. Whether her face is shown or not, people will complain and complain until their fingers and mouths fall off.

What is wrong with a beautiful emotional scene? It don't have to be a sad scene either.

@Troodon: Heh, if they release ME3 people will rage too.

I'm glad they decided something, I don't like an insecure Bioware.

Casey just asked on twitter that what would we like to see in the next ME3 pics. So I thought that we might get a pic of Tali's new look if everybody asked for it on twitter!

I'm going to assume that we won't see her face, since they never designed it during the production of the previous 2 games, and he said, "We locked down our approach long ago."

Hi guys, cant be bothered reading 64 pages o_O wow you talimancers really have at it hard! :P

Anywho, about Tali's face

I support for showing us her face, but think about it, there is HUGE risk in doing so, everyone has a different opinion and how she looks, not to mention not all people like the same um.."type"? of female faces. The lead artist said in a recent interview that "either way you're going to dissapoint someone" and that about avoiding to say anything about Tali : "but that's something we will have to deal with eventually, and we're dreading it"

I hope you guys get what you're asking for but ask yourself this - if this ruins Tali for you (and trust me, it has the power to do so.) will you be able to say "It was worth it."?

The risk is too great for you guys, you must see that surely!

the is no risk at all. her face is part of her character, not the entire thing. it would be very shallow to let such a small (comparatively) detail ruin her for you.

It won't ruin her. Period. I'm getting a little tired of this argument over and over and over and over again, like her face is the only thing thats interesting about her or something. Its BW's game, what the quarians look like is totally up to them.

Locked down our approach, not how she would or wouldn't look like. They're just saying ''We decided whether we're going to or not going reveal Tali's face''
Secondly, ''long ago'' is a very subjective statement. That doesn't mean they made their decision during production of ME1, it doesn't mean they made their decision during production of ME2, it means they made their decision ''Some time before today''. That could mean yesterday for all we know.

If they are not going to show her face, why did he even say that? and why did they do that poll yesterday? So I think they are gonna show us.
