Oh I guess you're just impolite then. Glad we cleared that up. Here's a tip for future reference : Instead of jumping at someone because your favorite character's name popped up, how about you offer a constructive and productive to the forum answer. Instead of : "blah blah blah blah PERIOD blah blah blah she iz not just a face blah blah blah" That is what I read from your answer

Cool it, both of you. This is the Tali thread.

Oh both of us right, as if there are two people at fault for this blowing up.

oh p.s I dont give a damn what this thread is. Tell your fellow Tali fan to learn proper manners next time. Pathetic.

I can avoid reading people's rage if need be, I can't avoid being dissapointed at bioware not showing what quarians look like due to fear of rage.

I hear you. If one rages at Tali not looking like what one thought, then I can't look at one being a Tali fan.
Honestly, if you like Tali, whoe cares what she looks like.

Sick people can't work.

That all depends on the severity of the sickenss though.
When Tali was recovering from her... activites... with Shepard, she was still working. It wasn't really physical work as she just needs to stand there and fiddle with the engine, but nonetheless, it was work.

Uh, not to mention the "work" of going on a suicide mission.

Tali is one tough chick. She probably started feeling miserable halfway through that.

I can imagen her unmasking to be like this:

Shepard, Tali, and (whoever is the other squadmate) are running away from geth on rannoch.
Large explosion.
Tali is send flying into a wall, cracking her visor and revealing part of her face.
Player: OMG HER FACE...**** HER IMMUNE SYSTEM!
She survive from it being on rannoch.

I'm sure they understand that letting the fans control too much is a sure fire way to send the Mass Effect IP to an early grave.

The fans already like what they made, so don't change it too much. You let the fans run everything and it'll suck because the fans are a big group with a lot of different opinions.

Incidentally, it is this sort of thing that fuels my loathing and disgust for my fellow forumites.

The fans aren't really controlling a single thing, Bioware asked us our opinions on one thing and we answered so i doubt it will be a early grave for the Mass Effect IP what they decide to do after that is up to them.

Also for those earlier post the Quarians could survive with out their suit on, on their homeworld as it was said before that the Quarian immune system was orginally in balance with the planets eco system which is why they had trouble adjusting when not one of them have been on their home planet for what we guess was several generations. Granted they might not be able to be outside their suits for extended periods of time but i think it would be a more rapid adjustment for them then not.

The quarians could survive after a few generations. The first quarians to set foot there and their children and maybe even grandchildren would still need suits. At this point their immune systems are so sensitive that any foreign matter getting inside can cause an allergic reaction.

i think it would be sooner then a few generations I mean the planet was so uniqe that it was the only one that the quarians could truly live on, the issue with the suits had to do with forgien matter which their bodies where not used to dealing with without the use of their own planet.

40 years Tali said. That's two generations. She's just estimating though so it could be a lot longer than that.

She said that the difference between settling on Rannoch and settling on another world is the difference between 60 years and 600.

You're right, pardon me.

So that's at least three generations, not two. Could be longer though.

I didn't read many other posts so don't scream at me if someone else already said this cause I don't care.

Tali's face needs to be revealed in ME3 if you import a game from ME2 that you romanced her in...

the quarian life span is like that of a humans and as far as i have seen while it would take many years for the quarians to live on their home planet with out their suits entirly I think even the older generation would adjust to to the enviroment with time letting even the oldest that live long enough to enjoy at least some time out of their suits with little side effects. PS: so far everytime someone said generations for some reason i was thinking like 100 years in stead of 20, not sure why.Posted ImagePosted Image

The poll from yesterday on Twitter regarding Tali's face reveal has been noticed by a gaming website. Thought i'd share for those who would like to take a look...

Alternatively, if they free their home planet, there could be a
scene where the fleet lands on the surface of Rannoch, and you see Tali
stepping onto the surface of the planet again for the first time in centuries.
Tali then takes off her mask (along with other quarians) to breath the air that
they haven't breathed in generations.

I think reveals like this would fit in perfectly with the story, and be a
fitting end to an epic triology.

Edit: How does everyone else think it should happen?

Well first of all, I think it would best if it's Tali, who would initiate the scene or moment, when players would see her face, no matter how BW is going to show it. After all it's really personal issue for any Quarian and that's something BW should not change, even in the moment of finally showing Tali's face to everyone.

Then on to how or what is the best way to it. I think that it would be best way to show Tali's and other Quarians faces, when they had got their home world back. It would really be sympolic and important moment for Quarians. Though I think that even setting a foot on the surface of their home world is probably more than enough for many of them, so removing their mask is not necessary.

In Tali's case, I think that the best, most symbolic and emotional moment to remove her mask would be, when she would set her foot on her new home on the home world. After all it was something her father promised to build for her and if she would finally got it, it would most likely be one of the most important moments in her life. Especially if Tali was your Shep's LI and he helped to build that new home. It would be so meaningful moment to remove her mask then. Sign of new beginning.

Now if Quarians won't get their home world back, then it's little more complicated. If you romanced Tali, then I think it's quite possible that Tali would remain on Normandy with Shepard after the Reaper thread is over. Yes, fleet is really important for Tali and we haven seen that she would do everything for them. But I think that if this whole Reaper issue have finally shown Tali that even she could be selfish in something. And I think that she is more than deserved that right. And if that's the case and Tali remains on Normandy, then the best way to show her face is during some silent and meaningful moment, Shep and Tali are sharing on captains quarter. And no, it doesn't need to be intimate moment (thought it could easily end up being one). It could just be the first time Tali steps on Shep's quarter after deciding to stay with Shep or just the first time Tali would realize that Normandy and Shep's quarter are now her new Home. This realization could easily privide a moment, where Tali would remove her mask and show her face (probably smiling one in this case) to Shep and players too. And it would also be symbolic and sign of new life for Tali and Shep.

Then there is that possibility that Tali was not your Shep's LI, but just a friend or even less than that. Somehow I think that if Tali was not your Shep's LI in either ME2 and ME3 or if you just romanced her during ME3, chances to see Tali's face are lesser. And it sure would be bold move from BW, if they would show Tali's face only if Tali was players romance option. Otherwise you wouldn't see it at all.

It happened to me too a few years ago... It's probably confusion between the concept of lifespan (the time that passes between a creature being born and the same creature dying) and generation (the time that passes between a crature being born and the same creature generating its own offspring)...

Given this by ME, lifespan is 150 years tops for humans...
A "Generation" today is roughly 20-25 years (that's the average age a couple has their first child), assuming living longer isn't an excuse to have children later, I'd say it's more or less the same in ME timeline...
Of course that depends when Quarians reach sexual maturity and how long a generation is for them (I assume it's similar to humans, though it's not completely sure, since it's not confirmed)...
