Hiya Talimancers! Apparently i'm showing up in your thread just in time! I got a chance to read the players guide at work today and i read the characters section and it DOES mention that you see her face in a picture that she gives you if you've romanced her. The guide made no mention of if it's obscured or not, but it said you see her face, so i'd assume that means you are able to see it without obstruction? One can hope! I'm gonna have to finally finish my Talimance playthru!

That sounds awesome, but I'm sure bioware will never show her face because if they do, someone, somewhere will be pissed off of her appearance. *sigh* one can dream though, one can dream.

It has already been confirmed from 2 different sources that you do get a picture of tali's face however it is half covered by 'lens flare'.

Just a thought

Maybe Bioware are smarter than you think they are and on day 1 release on the 06 March they do a day 1 update and remove the lens flare. I am quite confident that they will show Tali's face,

Reason being, judging by the reaction of Casey Hudson when asked about it in a Q&A a while back he said and I quote 'We know exactly what we are going to do with Tali's face' with a giant grin on his face. Plus Mike Gamble's answer to the same question also at a Q&A session he said and I quote 'Of corse I know what Tali looks like' and then immediatly saying after 'Well doesnt everyone' maybe realising he may have just dropped the ball.

Have faith Talimancers and don't listen to anyone who claims they space copy without evidence that they actually have it

When we say "covered by lens flare", do they imply that you can see it, or is it too obscured?

I bet it's going to be that bright light you get in ME when you talk to Ash about her past the light is so blinding you can hardly see her face its a blue para one that says you're doing a great job here but I hate it I really hope it's not like that. I want to see her face not be blinded and can only make out curtain features. I want to see a clear unobstructed view of her.

Does it say if you can full screen the image to see it or zoom in rather closely? My screen makes everything small so I'm back to type 1 font and when in DE:HR we got a pic of Adam as a boy I couldn't zoom in and could barely see it's feature I really hope its not like that. If I'm only getting a photo of her I'd like to blow it up so I can really see her features.

so even if they dont reveal the face, we'll always have a piece of artwork to form concensus on a canon fanon-tali face.

confirmation of whether we see Tali's face or not is in the strategy guide... i don't think the strategy guide is a rumor...

Oh, that gets me so nostalgic for ME1. I think Tali was possibly the only character that red/white armour looked good on!

Takes me back. In my first playthrough of ME1, she was wearing that armor, equipped with a shotgun with polonium rounds. Other squadmate was Wrex, but I can't remember for the life of me which armor and main weapon he had.

True. Sort of. It's in the ME1 section of the book, so it's not truly a "rehash", false advertising-like. Anyway, I like the "circle one" (weird choice of name, by the way) for several reasons, and think an in-game face could be a progression of it. Was doing some sketches just now (OK, accidentally all night) of an unmasked Tali, using the third one from the art book and what's visible in-game. Here are the interesting bits I noted:

1. The lines going from her eyes and up her scalp look very much like the twin strips on her hood in ME2. Could be simple coincidence, or that they liked it but couldn't show it on her skin, obviously.

2. The really dark bits around the eyes seem like a natural adaption to a more sunny, arid environment (i.e. Rannoch), much like cosmetics of ancient Egyptians or modern day football players to help keep out the glare.

3. The light irises match up with what we see in-game, which I suspect is analogous to the "shine" of tapetum lucidum, given their dimmer home planet and  how the interior of Tali's mask appears to have many lights inside during the final romance cutscene.

4. Aside from the flat nose and larger eyes, the general proportions and shapes of her features are rather similar to what we see in-game through the visor.

5. Not quite as important, because equipment is easily transferred, but the chin strap, cheek coverings, and circlet match up with places where her visor would attach, whereas the other concepts lack most of those.

Anyway, here's the concept. Just a WIP unfortunately- really wanted to do more, but I need to sleep. Have to get a lot done this weekend else I won't have time to play ME3 on Tuesday! =P

Seriously, I think they'd rather keep it a secret. The visual identity of the Quarians is all about the armour, after all.
